went to buy a battery here. 4 guys sat around a table in this filthy shop and just kept on talking to each other ignoring me like i was just a nuisance. finally one guy said "what ya want" ? told them i just wanted an inexpensive battery. he seemed disturbed that i was not looking for a more expense battery. he showed me one for 50 bucks had to remind him to give me a receipt after i paid for it he was so anxious to get rid of me. he infactily did tell me there is no refund or return, came home put it in my car 3 weeks go by and its dead as can be, not even rechargeable, a huge waste of my time and money. shop elsewhere people.these people are a collection of unprofessionals just hanging around a place for a paycheck that's all. definitely. save your time and money go to viking battery in santee there you don't get any treatment like battery specialist in el cajon. hey folks come on down and get ripped of anddddd disrespected all in one trip @ ((((( battery specialist))))) the worst battery business on planet earth. they specialize in ripping off customers that is there only specialty. read more

Talk to someone today to buy 3 Trojan batterries and the person clearly stated that they had them and quoted me 60 dollars for each with a core exchange. I came in from 35 miles away and as soon as I show up and talk to the same guys, he states " I never said I had that type of battery. I realized that this guys has no credibility or respect for people's time. He then mentioned he has a similar battery but with less power and less amps. At this point I'm lost for words since I drove such a long distance and came up empty. He tried to up sell me a less power battery. All I needed are 3 batties for my golf cart so I can tow my plane in my hanger. I will just buy from someone with more integrity not like the owners of this shop. He got me good, sounds like he tells everyone to come in and has a chance to sell you something else you don't need. With his actions make me believe, all they think about is how to rip off people. If you like this guys and trust him then continue but if your like me and can't stand dealing with liars or people that make stuff up as they go. " oh yeah I have what you need come in and will take good care of you" with intentions of selling you something else. This type of people are big pieces of shit in my book. You install used batteries in people's cars when customers pay $120-150+ for new batteries and you lie to the customer saying that the battery is a few years old when they come back in and confront you about the crappy dead battery that you sold them and installed in their car. I received great customer service today, plus a perfectly working battery at a great cost! There are sales and then there are just businesses that regularly offer their customers great prices...the owners at Battery Specialist are one of those businesses. Don't be over-spending your hard earned money on over-priced batteries! My truck is older, but I have kept great care of it. Unfortunately, it was not one, but now two batteries sold to me from the auto club that had failed far in advance of their warranty dates. I found Battery Specialist and I am so glad I did. I think I was in and out within fifteen minutes. They installed the battery along with the purchase. The installer even cleaned off the connection points. This place came highly recommended, but I will never use them again, and I will caution others to avoid them as well. I am currently in a repair shop getting the SECOND dead battery they sold me replaced. The first one lasted less than a year, and they replaced it because I had the receipt. The one currently being replaced also lasted less than a year. I suspect they are selling used or refurbished batteries as new. But after few minutes taking to him he open up more. well his and older gentleman maybe he was having a bad morning. So today I had to purchase another battery, brand New it cost me $97.00 dlls. with two-2 year warranty . I checked first with Auto zone , their price is 149.00 plus tax 2 year warranty an the was with my 10% discount. IM so glad Battery specialist is next door to Auto Zone. I was in need of a new battery and decided to stop in before going to AutoZone. They gave great customer service and a lot cheaper then what I would have payed at Autozone. I ended up installing the battery myself and had some loose connections. I brought it back to see if they could help and they were able to fix it and even charged my battery overnight so avoid too much tension on my alternator. I think Hector is running things now, and the young lady helping out is knowledgeable and very sweet. I am eighty-four and needed a battery today. She helped me to walk in, offering me a chair and some water, being such a hot day. The other day, my truck died and I needed to get a new battery. My friend had recommended this place because he said they have used batteries for cheap and at first, I was very weary. Hole-in-the-wall shop selling used batteries for cheap?! So I went on Yelp, took a look at the reviews and decided to come here for a new battery and let me tell you, it was not a mistake! When I first arrived, I walked in and told them my truck year and model and they immediately told me both prices for a used or a new battery ($45 used or $85 new). I decided to play it safe and buy the new battery and that price included the battery, free installation, and a 2 year warranty! Compared to the $100-$150 prices I was finding online at big-business auto shops, this pricing was amazingly fair! The men there didn't talk a whole lot but they were both very friendly. The whole process from when I parked in the lot to when I was paying at the front desk took less than 10 MINUTES! I am so glad I decided to take my business here. I came to this place to see if my battery needed to be charged and the sales man told my husband that they would check it and they did one said that it was no good anymore and the other said that they can charge it but they didn't know if it still worked or not my husband asked how long it would take the said we had to leave it there all day and pick it up tomorrow and they would charge us five dollars to charge it when on their window it said they charged battery's for free the only reason we went here was cause my husband had been going there for years read more

I bought a used battery from them for 40$ and they gave me warranty for 3 months. it seems like the battery will not work more than 3 months because its done right after the 3 months while i was expecting that the battery to work at least for one year for that price. If there is no star, I will give this place zero. I bought used battery and next two days didn't work again. I returned it to him and gave me worse one. He told me this is used so he made me bought new one from him. After around year, the battery was out. I have warranty and when I returned it to him. He told me " you have used it for more than year and you have multiple months and warranty expire. I told him I don't care because my battery still in warranty and he tried to give me used one hahahahah. I will buy only from Walmart or from Cosco. read more
