When I called back they said that was just in store costs. Who would pay $200 to buy a new phone? Nevermind the guy was a total prick. Accidentally put this on the wrong store! Should have been halsted Do not go here! If I could give zero stars I would. Traded in old phone for new one and told difference would be about $2 /month. When I went to look at my account today.... Christmas... I found FRAUD! A new line had been added on our account, no waiving of the upgrade fee, no trade in amount, and one of the other phones had a plan change done. The forms for our "agreement" were either not signed or scribble signed, not by us. It's taken over an hour on with phone with Verizon to remove all the unauthorized changes.... And we still don't know if they turned in our trade in so can't yet get credit for that. Don't go here!!!!!!!!! read more

The staff at this Verizon Reseller store run by Mobile Generations are committing FRAUD. AVOID THIS VERIZON STORE AT ALL COSTS. At the end of Aug 2025, we stopped at this store to ask a few questions about our account. They answered our questions, and we left. That was it. Several hours later we got emails where a new phone line had been added along with a phone (iPhone 14 Rest of World-2) that had been added to our Account. And our bill was increasing by over $90. We did not authorize the new line, nor have we ever owned an iPhone 14. I called the store and spoke to Naomi who waited on us and confronted her with what happened. She said that sometimes "things just happen". Right. I called the Store's District Manager to discuss with him - Cody B - He said that he was sure this was just a mistake by Naomi - that she just "pushed the wrong button". Right. We ended up spending hours on the phone with the Verizon support people to get this line and phone removed from our account. It took almost a month of multiple repeated calls to customer service. We finally got the line and phone removed by contacting the Verizon Executive team under the CEO of Verizon-Hans Vestberg. We asked the executive team to investigate this store for fraud. This contract store is trashing Verizon's name and reputation. Lots of similar reviews just like mine. read more

AVOID THIS VERIZON STORE. The staff commit fraud!! We used this Verizon store at 3019 N Clark St in Chicago, to exchange two phones on our plan for 2 new ones. There are five phones on our plan. Later in the week, we had a billing question and called Verizon support number. We ended up spending an hour on the phone with the support person because he asked about the new line that had been added at the store. We told him this was done without our authorization and he said that he would disconnect this unauthorized line. We were bothered enough by this to call Verizon's Fraud line the next day. The person we spoke with said that there would be a $66 charge on our next bill, even though the line was added without our consent. We said that we feel the people at the store are committing fraud, and Verizon should investigate. This is a contract store, so whoever owns it should act immediately to fire these unscrupulous workers. Avoid this store! read more

Warning: this is a 3rd party Verizon, not an actual Verizon store. I wish I would've read the reviews prior to coming here. They told me the charge was going to $335 to get my new phone turned on. It turns out this is a bundle that their sales people are pushed to sell you. Their sales person conveniently forgot to mention that this wasn't required; even after being asked. With the bundle I was supposed to get a phone case, charger, etc. but that was "forgotten" about. So in all, I walked away getting scammed out of $220. After reaching out to Verizon corporate they couldn't figure out what happened. I then had to track down the manager to get a $220 refund. He said it was just an accident but after reading many other reviews, it seems this is a common thing they do. Steve B did correct the mistake but only after multiple calls and needing to go into the store again. The sales person also went through and changed multiple of my families phone plans to the more expensive plan. I had to spend a lot of time working with someone from Verizon corporate to get everything put back. The sales associate said that all extras/bundles such as Disney/Hulu bundles were not active and I wouldn't be charged for them but when we received the bill they had all these items on them. read more

I am disappointed in the lack of transparency in fees and charges at this store and the inability to get my bill correct. Upon coming here to upgrade my phone and take advantage of the multiple promotions they had running, I was wrongly charged the next bill (none of the promotions were applied) even after going into the store twice to confirm promos were going to be applied. There was a lack in transparency of the promotions and the guidelines to receive them (such as the home internet promo). Frustrating to have to go into the store twice and also call customer service multiple times to get this rectified. read more

As many others have stated, I was incorrectly charged an additional $199 dollars when replacing my phone. I called about the additional charge on top of taxes (for the ~$840 phone) and the $199 was explained as a "bundle of 4 items, like a case or charger." I did not purchase these items, and in fact was told they did not have the items in stock to give me. When asking for a refund, they said it would require a manager override because it had been 30 days, but I would not have known about this additional charge until confirming this was not a part of the monthly charge for the phone itself. read more

Ethan was great! He took care of me and to another customer at the same time. He also had to call to customer service for fixing something in my phone. I didn't give 5 stars because I went back after a few weeks to get router to my new address. The new employee thought it would be nice to convince me to take 2 routers ($45 every month for each router) when I wanted to get one router and one extender ($45 a month for the router and $200 one time payment for the extender). when I got home I opened only one of them to see if one router will be enough. 2 days later the new Employee called me and asked me why I didn't connect the other router. I told him that I have them for one month with no charge and so far one router doing the job. A few days later I went back to return the old router (from the old address) another new employee told me that I need to go to the other location (10 min drive away on North Ave). I went there but they told me that I need to call customer service to get a return label. it annoying that they have a miscommunication between the stores. So I called to customer service and a very nice and helpful guy answer me and told me that he is not recommend to have 2 routers and that the extender is a great idea. also he said that because I didn't open the box, They should receive the box from me. let's see tomorrow.... (I think I will try to get Ethan's help). UPDATE: Don't go to the store if you have a problem because they will tell you to go to a different location and the other location will tell you to call to customer service. go to the store only if you need to buy something. by the way, Verizon's customer service is great! read more

!!! DO NOT GO HERE, 3RD PARTY SCAM verizon location!!!! Make sure to get a receipt when being charged for the sales tax for a new phone. I was never given a receipt and later find out i was charged $200 that I will "get back" as a part of the $830 promotion I am supposed to already be getting. Manager lied on the phone saying corporate locations would only give a $610 credit anyways so this location gave an "extra $220" but they charge you $200 for it. I confirmed with multiple corporate locations that this is not true. Corporate locations will give $830 credit without charging a $200 fee. The verizon corporate worker even told me that he tells everyone to steer clear of third parties - total scam managers name was Alex M he completely lied. You would think they would want to keep a customer happy and just give back the $200 but no so now it has been escalated to the loyalty team managers as an investigation. AGAIN - do not go here unless you want to be lied to by managers and have employees not be able to explain charges they add onto the sales tax phone bill. Going to corporate location = $830 credit, going to this scam location = $630 only because they steal $200 of your money without disclosing anything. NEVER going to a 3rd party or this location ever again. read more

As others have stated this is a third party Verizon authorized retailer not an actual Verizon store. They will charge you extra fees and try to gouge you when you come in for an upgrade. I told them no thanks when they tried to charge me $299 in "taxes and fees" on top of my monthly payment for a new phone that was $300 total over 36 months after my trade in credit. On my way home I got notifications that my plan had been changed, they had added hotspots to my plan at no additional cost amongst other things. Well this cancelled the free Disney+ and ESPN I had through my grandfathered plan. These changes were not wanted, discussed, or authorized. We now have a case open with Verizon escalation team to try to get our grandfathered plan back and we reported the unauthorized changes made by the store to Verizon. Do yourselves a favor and go to an actual Verizon store. read more

I explained to Justin I was moving from sprint due to my mother passing and being on her plan. Of course in true sleazy fashion my first bill was sent within 6 days of having my phone and new Apple Watch that I was told would only be an additional 5 dollars. Turns out that's a lie. Then I was suppose to only be paying 80 bucks for service turns out that was a lie too. They said enrolling in auto pay would we decrease my bill, but they didn't say it was 3 billing cycles which I found out from the billing person when I called 611. Spoke to the manager and he said he was going to disconnect the call because it is now February 9th and Verizon and Miguel have no clue where my trade in is. This is ridiculous and unprofessional. This place is horrible! Please find another carrier. They are unwilling to help. I had to move carriers because my mom passed. I got this plan back in November. DO NOT GO HERE. I've lived in the area for 6 years and used to always come upgrade my phone hassle free, however, that has drastically changed. First of all, THIS IS NOT a real Verizon store. It's a third party cell phone store called "Mobile Generation" that uses Verizon as a cover. The nightmares and fuckups I had here upgrading my phone was something I wouldn't wish on anyone. I was told I had to pay in store a $200 deposit towards my new phone (regular upgrade) and in exchange I had to pick four "free items" from the store - I said no, I don't need more chargers, just upgrade my phone. Turns out they never applied the $200 towards my phone. When I went back to confront them, it took an hour for them to fix it and their "fix" was issuing a credit to my account that ended up changing the entire family's plan. They are scam artists - will talk fast, use acronyms, etc. and it's only if you pay attention and push hard they admit their scam. DO. NOT. COME. HERE! Get your new phone online or pay the price. read more

This I could excuse because I had a new guy helping me and he was doing his best. What I really find frustrating is the lack of transparency. The man who appeared to be the manager kept coming over to help my guy with the process. He talked me into buying this device called The hum that plugs into your car. He told me it would just be $2 a month on my bill because of some special deal. Of course no one shows you what your new bill will look like before you are required to sign contracts. I was finally able to see a summary of my new bill today and the hum is costing me $25 a month plus a one time $50 fee. I would never have bought this if I had known these were going to be the costs. of course now I have a two-year signed contract that I signed under false pretenses.
