I have a dozen AT&T devices. Sometimes phone tech support is not helpful. It's great to have a brick and mortar store nearby with a friendly and knowledgeable staff. One suggestion, however. Our bill was higher and no phone trade in was allowed. After several in store meetings with Jonathan, we just called ATT customer service and all was handled quickly and exceeded expectations. After an underwhelming experience at a different AT&T store, I wanted to give another store a chance to help me upgrade my phone. The staff here were friendly and very knowledgeable. They were experienced with how to upgrade, provided an array of options, educated me on things my plan had like insurance (who knew?) and what that includes, and helped our plan overall. I will say the stock is very limited, so if you come here, you most likely will end up ordering the device you want and it'll take a few days to come in, so keep that in mind. All in all, a relatively easy process and it was nice feeling like you can trust the staff here to help you and to know more about tech than I do! read more

I had a frustrating 24-hour experience with ATT over the phone, trying to return a iPhone 12 Mini for a larger model. The phone was delivered to my home but ATT insisted that I had to return and exchange in person. I live in Lakeview, and called two nearby stores, but neither was helpful. Fortunately, Eddy and his colleague walked us through every issue, made the exchange and saved us money with a new plan. The staff even helped me find a free parking spot. I was having a difficult time getting some charges as well as an extra line taken off my plan. I walked into the store to ask for help and, Christian, one of the employees informed me I should be able to call in or use the app, which I had done. He must have read the frustration and disappointment on my face because he immediately offered his assistance. He got through to the right people and had the charges eliminated and line dropped. He even threw in some additional pointers for next encounters. I'm very appreciative of his help and will highly recommend this location for the next level customer service. I would definitely avoid this store if possible. Their business practices are dishonest bordering on fraudulent. I went in to simply upgrade my phone. I already knew I would be hit with a bunch of random processing fees, but when I received my first bill I was shocked to see it more than doubled. It turns out the salesperson, John took it upon himself to add an entirely new line. I only went in for a phone upgrade, nothing else - no additional lines or services. I called AT&T and was told I had to return to the store, request that they cancel the line they added, receive proof of cancellation, and then call AT&T back to request a refund. Because this was an authorized retailer and not an AT&T corporate store, AT&T customer service could not assist without me returning to the store to cancel the line. Not only was this an inconvenience, but I was also already on a limited budget due to the holidays. To get hit with an invoice double the cost of my previous invoices for the past two decades was quite a shock. After some investigating I found that this is a common scam people encounter when going to an authorized retailer. The salesperson gets a commission for every new line or subscription sold, so they will add upgrades and services without disclosing it to the customer. Please be sure to review all the line items in your order before signing off. I made the mistake of trusting John's synopsis of what I was getting without thoroughly reviewing the order. Rushed over after work at 6:30 and was helped by Avian once he helped the guest ahead of me. We had a few things we had to filter through to fix account stuff but he was patient and extremely helpful. We finally got my new phone up and working and even though I felt bad cutting it so close to their closing time he never once rushed ahead but instead informed me it would all work out fine. As much as they attempted to help with issues ranging from resetting passwords to deleting past tv accounts, the amount of misinformation and complete lack of training made this visit not only waste of time but complete lack of literacy. Train these people, i was told i had to delete my own accounts, not correct, once i went thru the disarray of ATT resetting password basically circling me to accounts other than the one needed, after talking to 3 different operators, transferring me to god knows where, ONE PERSON DID EVERYTHING I NEEDED. Stopped in here to switch over from Sprint and has a great experience! Angel was patient, kind, and very knowledgeable. I would give him 50 stars. His coworker who did not show up that day, however, caused us to wait an extra hour and that was not cool. Four hours later, we left informed and happy with brand new phones and a new contract. I stopped by this store because I have an AT&T phone although it's on another carrier. I went in and there was one customer in there who was being helped. Two male employees were chatting off to the side. I approached them and had to wait until they decided to finish their personal conversation. Not sure who's in charge over there but I HAD TO WAIT UNTIL THEY FINISHED THEIR PERSONAL CONVERSATION. I explained that I had just bought an extra SD card for memory because this phone just has 8g of memory and apps will not update. This young man who waited on me first said, "This is a beginner phone, of course it's low memory" as if I were stupid. Well, I have had several phones in my life and none have had too little memory before. Thanks for the insult, junior. The he said the card was only helpful for saving photos which frankly, since I have been saving photos on Google, didn't think would be an issue on my phone. But this guy couldn't keep his mouth shut. He told me that I was out of luck and how the SD card wouldn't help me and insulted me again when I told him I used Cricket Wireless ---which is part of AT&T--- and he said "we don't acknowledge them." Sam took the time to figure out my issue. He was pleasant optimistic and made me feel at ease although I was so frustrated. The worst customer service experience I've ever incurred. Purchased two phones back in July all was fine service good. It was the buy one get one free iPhone. Also Switcher Over program credit, they supposed to pay your prior carrier last bill. Provided everything they needed right away, have all the emails and backup between myself and rep Puneet. So I wait for over two months two see my credit to be processed for $666 which the sale rep Puneet assured me with a confirmation email from AT&T that I would receive. Didn't happen several call to customer service the resulted in them saying oh, it was entered wrong you only get $335 on one and $56 on the other line. I personally don't give a rat's a$$ how your error occurred you gave me a confirmation of receiving $666 and now they all playing this dumb a$$ game of someone will get back with you. Talked to Bill, Sam and some other guy again today 11/5/16 who waiting for Cheryl Hollister to come back from vacation, but was not on vacation when I was there two weeks ago again showing backup of what they should honor. I'm filing a complaint with the BBB for false advertisement and knowing misrepresentation. Five months back and forth and now of them have the balls to satisfy the customer who gave them my business, and took their word with documentation. They have messed with the wrong person!!! Stupid a$$ will end up paying more when I'm done with them!! ATT&T phone switcher program is a scam, so is the buy one get one free crap. Charging me every month for the second as a lease!!! Avoid at all costs. This place will rip you off and waste your time in every way. Walked in to switch to AT&T. Was anything but a seemless process. First off, the manager, 'Travis,' was incredibly dishonest and completely disregarded my requests in terms of plan and 'add ons.' Requested the cheapest plan, and when I checked today I have been signed up for the 'Elite' plan, after specifically mentioning that I did not want this. Also I was signed up for a warranty plan which was not requested for $15/month. They have some questionable practice of 'verifying' identities of customers as well for the other employees using false names when calling in to AT&T for credit checks (Manager 'Travis' is listed as 'Luis Robeledo' on my paperwork and stated this was his name over the phone). Overall took ~2 hours and now more time on the phone with AT&T to fix the mess they made here. AVOID THIS PLACE. read more

My experience at this location was awesome! The woman I worked with (Sonora) was very knowledgeable and patient as we worked with her. She helped us find the best deals possible and was very upfront about charges, which is a pretty rare thing in business these days. Sonora was warm and helpful. I went to get a backup SIM card in case I ever needed to re-activate my previous phone. This is not the first time I have gone to an AT&T store to get a sim card for later activation. When I previous upgraded from a Micro SIM to a Nano SIM, since i am not the primary on the family plan account they previously just gave me the Nano SIM to be activated by customer service later. Now that I upgraded to another nano SIM phone, I transferred over my existing SIM and no longer had anything in the phone I would want to use as a backup if my primary phone was lost or stolen. After iterating *three* times what it was I was attempting to do, the employee asked to see my phone. He then proceeded to try to *FORCE* the battery pack case off from the *BOTTOM*. This goes completely against what the instructions for the case (or any battery pack case) state to do because the bottom of the case plugs into the charging port of the phone. If the case is successfully forced off from the bottom, the USB-C plug of the case will snap off in the phone thus damaging the case and phone such the phone can no longer be charged. Once I got him to stop trying to damage my phone and I iterated for a *FOURTH* time that the SIM card is *NOT* for that phone, he finally told me they can't provide an un-activated SIM card (despite AT&T having done this before in the past). AT&T website still lists non-activated SIM cards as available and customer service seems to indicate that they *DO* provide SIM cards for later activation by calling in. While it would be understandable if the problem was just they refused to help me get a backup SIM card. However, completely ignoring that I already told them three times that the SIM is for a different phone and then attempting to damage my current phone is indication that the employees at this store are extremely poorly trained. I did attempt to follow up by calling the store back to make them aware of the issues I had at their store. What I was told was: "[laugh] Attempting to remove the case does not damage it and the battery needs to be removed from the phone to get to the SIM card to replace it." This response indicates that three key pieces of information was ignored which was just provided to them: (1) The battery built into the phone is non-removal and the SIM tray is in a slot, not behind a battery. (2) I had indicated multiple times this is *NOT* the phone I was attempting to get the SIM for. There was no good reason ever given why they needed to be requesting to touch my phone at all. (3) The battery pack case plugs into the phone, forcing the USB-C connector out at an angle 90 degrees off from the direction it is supposed to be removed *WILL* physically damage the ability for the phone to ever charge. The fact yet another employee felt it proper to laugh and make an empty declarative statement which does not match with reality seems to indicate the incompetence in training extends beyond just a single employee. If you go to this store do *NOT* hand them your phone. They do not have a clue about the basics and have no respect for either the customer or the customer owned equipment. I will be switching away from AT&T as soon as possible. read more

Also when I went in to trade my phone they took longer than normal and had a new person do it all alone. He also helped out several other clients while helping me. His multitasking did not interfere with what I needed help with at all. They attended to me right away and Bill was totally good humored while I tried to explain to my parents the concept of a PIN to access their account to activate my new phone. The whole AT&T buy one get one free phone is a super scam. I signed up for the BOGO iphone 7 last April 2017, and ported two lines over from Verizon. Now -a full year later- they are billing me over $300 for my free phone!!!! I spent over an hour on the phone with support, service and supervisors. They are willing to upgrade me or have me sign up for a TV service (I don't own a TV) So sorry but there is "nothing we can do can do." BUYERS BEWARE. Stay clear of AT&T!!! Horrible Service: Hello- My complaint is about I had a contract with AT&T for services (directv through At&T). I called back in December of 2016 and was told if I have a letter wrote from management at my new apartment/residence stating that I was denied access to have a satellite dish installed on the premises that the fee for breaking the contract would be taken off. On May 1st, 2017 I was told that the charges were removed after sending in the letter from my management company. Then I was sent to collections agency called Sunrise Credit. I told them the charges were dropped by AT&T. No one notified the collection agency that this matter was resolved. So I called back and was told the collection agency would be notified. The collection agency was not notified because they called me today. Again I told the collection agency this matter has been resolved already. I was told to call AT&T and have them call the collection agency. Well when I called there were no notes in the computer which happened the last time I called no notes were taken regarding any conversations AT&T and I had. So they are refusing to acknowledge they credited my account at all. I have been told by several different customer service reps something different each time I have called and spoke with someone new. This is the worst customer service I have ever in my life have to deal with. Now I don't know what to do to resolve this but it has gone onto my credit report which I am not happy with. Hands down the best customer service experience I have ever had anywhere ! Not just from one employee, but ALL were awesome. I had gone to Costco because of a "promotion" they had. That was a total disaster! Lies after lies from them. I finally was so fed up that I left the Costco and headed to the at&t store. I arrived about 1hr before closing and I was treated great. I was helped by Jeff and he was honest and helpful from the beginning. He fixed what Costco messed up and he instructed me on how to handle the rest. Very disappointed in my experience here. Walked in and three of the gentlemen were busy. After 15 mins of waiting two ladies walked in. They were then greeted by one of the busy gentlemen. Granted, I walked in 15 minutes before them, waiting. I then asked if they would they be able to help me . Sam, finally asked if he could help us. I told him I had a billing concern. I had all of the documentation. He then explained because it was done by another authorized dealer he was not able to help. We would have to call them specifically. I don't believe this is how AT and T would want authorized dealers to deal with customers. You work for AT and T as far as I'm concerned as a customer. He didn't take any time to look up my account or the transactions in question. I did have to call that store. They fixed it in seconds. I asked if it was possible for that store to have called him to check. The answer was yes, they could have called. Go the extra mile. If you don't know how to help or just don't want to help customers get out of customer service. read more

I was in a bind with a dead Blackberry Passport cell phone while on vacation in Chicago. I do have ATT service. In researching in advance about the possible dead phone culprit, it seemed most likely it was my charger. But Blackberrys have also been phased out of ATT inventory, so faced another dilemma of where to get a suitable charger asap. Online forums also sometimes indicated older model blackberry chargers might not work with newer phones. Great. My friend dropped me off at this store where 2 agents were already working with clients. As for other remarks here about the wait times, I do agree the wait was a bit long, but I had my laptop with me and so was able (by slipping into a pause in conversation with one of the agents and their client) to get the wifi login information to keep myself busy. It was my observation that the agents I could perhaps use a tad of tightening up on how to be at ease and friendly with clients but also moving things along more (you're not at a coffee shop pace, and next clients are waiting). Me, just tried to be grateful, and waited. Steve S became available, whereupon I explained my situation. He first off plugged my phone into chargers at one of their servicing tables and voila, the it's-working light glow! So, yes it was the charger, and they in fact had chargers by Pure Gear which they could sell me to keep me going. I doubel checked things by having him take them out of the box to be sure they worked with m phone. With his unsolicited (nice!) pricing machinations because I would buy two pairs (cord and charge block), he discounted the 4 components I would buy. I was all set and now on my way. I was happy with how Steve S heard and resolved my problem, and would come back for other assistance if I should need so. read more

If this site had a negative rating, I would pick it. I bought a new house and didn't want to drill all over the new house, so I dropped Comcast cable and decided to get AT&T u verse. After being on hold forever. I was charged $20.99. OK, no problem so far. Then I was connected again and asked to verify my card number. I was thinking, it was for some some of billing info that was required. I did ask if I was being charged again. Just to let the person know that I was already charged the $20.99. The rep then asked for the expiration date on the card. At that point I asked specifically " Are you going to charge me"? she said NO. while she put me on hold, I was charged $100. ( I have chase with alerts) so obviously when she got back on the line, I went ape shit on her and ask to speak to a supervisor. I was transferred 5 times. Every time I had to go thru a rigorous questionnaire as to who I was. Finally with the 5th person, the phone got disconnected. I called back immediately. had to go thru the process again with 4 more people. Only to be told that my refund would take 5 to 10 business day. I called my bank and cancelled to transaction. and that was the ONLY way I got my money back. I work as a manager and if a customer of mine would have an issue similar to this, I would jump over hoops of fire to retain that customer. I wasn't even offered a fee to be waived. And they had a boat load of opportunities to do so. needles to say I cancelled with them and I"m calling Comcast as soon as I finish this review. If customer satisfaction is a priority. You guys might wast to train your people better. NO ONE was able to help me. I don"t even have a yelp account.
