I have purchased things from Chicago Gadgets several times starting several years ago with my first iPhone, which was an iPhone 4s, then an iPhone 5s, then a MacBook Pro, and just this past Saturday purchased a iPad Pro from them. Every time I went into the store, I have been treated with respect, given options for what I wanted to purchase, and Mohammed has always worked with me to give me the best possible price on the items, which are always in extremely excellent condition and like this past Saturday when I was looking at the 12.9 inch iPad Pro that he clearly stated had a battery that is failing and likely would need replacement very soon showed me a 9.7 inch iPad Pro that has a good battery and although a little smaller serves my needs very well and once again got me the best possible price on it. I very soon will be in the market for an Apple Silicon Mac so I can run macOS Tahoe, asked him if it would be worth purchasing one with a damaged screen and having him replace the screen on it, and he said I would not recommend that as the repair would likely be quite expensive and recommended checking with him in a week or two to see if he gets any Apple silicon MacBooks in which I definitely will do. I've been going here for years. They are always able to replace a cracked lcd screen or a dead battery fast, AND at a good price. I have a bunch of old tech - iPods, Mac laptops, tablets, etc. - they are usually able to tend to them, or make good recs for what to do next. I have been to this store several times to get my cracked iPhone camera lens fixed. On the weekend, it takes them about an hour. If you visit them during the week, it can take 15 minutes. Good day, I have had two experiences with this store. The first was to buy a refurbished iPhone that has worked perfectly. The second was today when I could not get the phone to take a charge I live nearby, I am handicapped, old, and live alone. So I really need a phone. I wheeled to their store this afternoon and was greeted by Jennifer, one of the most delightful and interested (in my problem) that I have met....period. When she took a phone call there was somebody who came to the counter and made sure that I was taken care of, being retired time is on my side so I said thank you, I'm okay. The whole experience just like the first one when I purchased the phone, was really enjoyable. They were able to identify the problem and get it resolved for me and charged me a very modest sum.... They were able to repair my second-generation iPod, which needed a new battery as well as a new motherboard. I'd cracked my iPad screen and watched as it got worse over several days and eventually shattered in one corner to the point where I knew I needed to replace it. I was leaving town in a couple days and needed to take it with me, so I knew I needed to get it fixed quickly. I also knew I didn't have an arm and a leg to spend on the repair. I surfed the web and found a couple options, and Chicago Gadgets was the closer of the two, and instantly quoted me a price on their web site which I felt was very reasonable, so I shot them an email that evening via their web site. I hadn't gotten a response yet an hour or so after the opened the next morning, so I decided to go ahead and show up at the shop and take my chances that they could fix it in time. Within the time I drove to the shop they'd answered my email, and in it they verified the price that had been quoted online (I love that feature on their web site!), and told me they could do it in about four hours. Excellent! So I dropped it off and went home, expecting to return late that afternoon. Instead, they called in about two hours -- It was ready! I drove back over and picked it up, and carefully checked their workmanship before leaving. I've have an iPhone screen and an iPad screen on an earlier model replaced in the past, and while both were functionally fine, neither glass was quite as perfectly set in as the original. This one looked perfect! That was eight days ago, and it's worked like new ever since. One lesson learned from all of this -- If a corner breaks on your case, replace it immediately. I didn't, the iPad slipped out, the screen cracked, and you know the rest. I also stopped on the way home and bought a new case so I'd be all ready for my trip. They carry a limited selection of cases at Computer Gadgets, but didn't have one for my model. read more

They are incredibly courteous, honest, and straight forward. My little brother broke his iPhone and we thought it was completely dead. I found Gadgets from a craigslist search for used phones (we're not going to pony up $$$$ to Apple again). Upon going to the store, we thought the only thing we could do was buy a phone, so we were looking at phones. The store clerk said "you sure you don't want to try to fix this instead?" She then called one of the techs to check if the phone was salvageable. He said it was, and gave me an upfront estimate of what needed to be fixed, but 2/3 fixes were optional. We decided to go that route, and they would call if it wasn't fixable. I dropped off the phone near their end of day, and it was ready around noon the next day. Very quick. Price of the repair was amazing (and waaaay less than buying a new iphone from tmobile ;) ), and they even ended up fixing the other two issues. My little brother got back a completely working phone. This is seriously as good as it gets. I drop my iPhone 6 -- A LOT. This was the second time I'd shattered my screen. The first time, about 4 months ago, I'd heard that Chicago Gadgets was the place to go because it was $25 less than going to Apple. I went. They were amazing, quick and true to price. THIS time, I rushed there from work and showed up a half hour before they closed with my second shattered iPhone 6 screen, hoping they could take care of it before they closed. Alex took a look at it, told me that not only was the glass and lcd screen shattered, but he showed me very clearly that my phone was actually BENT. He told me there was no way he could fix it before they closed for the night, but when he saw the disappointment in my eyes, he said, "hold on a minute, let me see what i can do right now." Twenty minutes later he came out with a brand-new looking phone. The shattered screen and lcd were repaired like new, and he'd also managed to un-bend the phone! He would NOT accept extra money for the extra work; and on top of that, he threw in a new extra-heavy-duty case for special-needs phone droppers like me for 50% off. Best experience ever! Moe (I think he is the owner?) and his team are so helpful and friendly, and provided excellent service. My S7 screen cracked and it takes a lot longer to fix that screen than any other phone. They fixed it perfectly, taking special care with a corner that was more badly damaged, and it was like brand new. They even gave me a tablet to take with my to Starbucks while I waited so I would have something to do since I forgot to bring mine. On top of the fantastic experience, it was HALF the price of everywhere else. Knowing now that they are so great, I would still go there (not very close to where I live) and pay full price willingly.
