The Brea location has very superb and caring Apple Geniuses that are attentive and friendly- especially Matt who is the lead Genius of this location. Daniel the Genius got my AirPods Pro 3 switched out on the spot on the same day, and even gave me a free set of ear tips for the replacement AirPods Pro 3 without having to send my AirPods Pro out or wait for a pair. Fantastic Experience at Apple Brea Mall! I had an exceptional experience with the Genius Bar team here. Lead Genius Matt was incredibly helpful in diagnosing a super rare error on my MacBook Pro, taking the time to perform a DFU restore and downgrade to sort it out. He found the -40 Apple Configurator error which ain't a common bug and is a rare occurrence- stemmed from the macOS Golden Gate beta. Tho it ain't rly resolved to fix the problem with the backup file, he found it just got too large to let the iPhone 7 accept it and gave me wonderful advice to get my pictures back and view them temporarily , til I get an iPad or iPhone I can spare for the data to get restored in there. I also want to thank Ethan for looking into the Apple Configurator -40 issue and scheduling the follow up appointment, Ken for his assistance with referring me to Matt, and Creative Pro Hazel, who kindly let me participate in Apple Camp while my MacBook Pro M4 pro was being restored. The entire staff, from the Technical Specialists to the Geniuses, were friendly, compassionate, and dedicated. Highly recommend this location!

It's a good process, more efficient than before. We were offered a $300 discount per trade in and a 24-month payment plan. You can't get the trade in discount if you pay in full. ‍ darn. Spectrum asked me to return the equipment to one of their stores. I took the box from Spectrum to return that at the Spectrum store in Brea. There she was. A short, not pretty, though not ugly, Hispanic lady with a big attitude. She already gave me an annoyed expression and took half a step back when I told her I was returning the shipment from Spectrum. She looked the box and said aloofly,"You have to open the box." She did not offer any help or any tools. Good that I have a small pocket knife. I took out the equipment and let her checked that it. I kicked the shipment box aside to get it out of the way. She then called me rude. She had some kind of attitude. She really should not be with customer service. My goodness. She should be glad that I did not see her name tag. For the next 3 months, I'd have to fight with AT&T Customer Service regarding my bill being incorrect (charged $32/month over what I was initially quoted) and them constantly pushing it off by saying they fixed the issue (but it turns out they were only manually adjusting the bill each time without a permanent or correct fix). It was not until this month where the AT&T Customer Service finally confirmed for me that they had initially misquoted me the price and promised a promotion that was on my quote but not eligible to my address and their initial solution was to open a case for me to follow up on and draw out until August when I would be incorrectly billed again. At the end, she was able to help me apply another courtesy credit and also cancel my service, but will not be returning to this location and would not trust any of the numbers they give you as the store, billing and sales department seems to operate differently, separately and can only point fingers at each other.

The employee at the front told me they would perform a free diagnostic, that it would take about one hour, and that they would call me with the results. Nobody called. I called the following day and spoke with another employee, whose name I believe was Xue. She told me the phone was a total loss and would cost more to repair than to replace. I asked whether they could at least recover my photos and files because they were not backed up to iCloud. She said yes, quoted me $150-$200, and told me it would take two to three days. Since this was Tuesday, I expected it to be completed by Friday. Again, nobody called. I called on Saturday, and the same guy who took my phone answered and told me the technician still needed to inspect the damage and that it would take another two to three days. This made no sense because I had already been told the phone had been diagnosed and that my data recovery would be completed by Friday. After receiving no updates the following week, I went to the store on Thursday to get my phone back and stop wasting my time. The guy then told me they were still performing diagnostics and that my phone's motherboard had been sent to their headquarters. He said I could take the phone without the motherboard if I did not want to wait. How was I supposed to recover my files without the motherboard when recovering my data was the entire reason I left the phone with them? I told him I wanted my phone returned complete and in the same condition in which I had given it to them. He promised it would be ready the following day before 3:00 p.m. I returned on Friday and finally picked it up. In the end, they kept my phone for two weeks, recovered none of my data, repeatedly failed to call me, and missed every deadline they gave me. Save yourself the frustration and take your device to another repair shop. This was a complete waste of two weeks.
