The Brea location has very superb and caring Apple Geniuses that are attentive and friendly- especially Matt who is the lead Genius of this location. Daniel the Genius got my AirPods Pro 3 switched out on the spot on the same day, and even gave me a free set of ear tips for the replacement AirPods Pro 3 without having to send my AirPods Pro out or wait for a pair. Fantastic Experience at Apple Brea Mall! I had an exceptional experience with the Genius Bar team here. Lead Genius Matt was incredibly helpful in diagnosing a super rare error on my MacBook Pro, taking the time to perform a DFU restore and downgrade to sort it out. He found the -40 Apple Configurator error which ain't a common bug and is a rare occurrence- stemmed from the macOS Golden Gate beta. Tho it ain't rly resolved to fix the problem with the backup file, he found it just got too large to let the iPhone 7 accept it and gave me wonderful advice to get my pictures back and view them temporarily , til I get an iPad or iPhone I can spare for the data to get restored in there. I also want to thank Ken for his assistance with referring me to Matt, and Creative Pro Hazel, who kindly let me participate in Apple Camp while my MacBook Pro M4 pro was being restored. From the moment we stepped in the store, the manager (I saw her name tag) had a very negative look on her. I told the manager that I wanted to upgrade my mom's phone and she was annoyed as if we were bothering her. Because I told her that this would be my mom's first iPhone, the manager very rudely said, "Well just so you know, this isn't an iPhone school here. We don't teach people how to use the phone. You have to go to an Apple store for that", even though we didn't even ask her to help with the phone! From there, I started asking about which phone would be best, and she rolled her eyes and asked me "When was the last time you got a new phone?" in an aggressive tone. Needless to say, we talked out immediately after and went to another AT&T store where they were able to help us. My mom had also mentioned to me that when she visited that same location years ago inquiring about getting an iPhone, the associate at the time told her they thought she was too old for an iPhone and told her she needed to get a Samsung, which she did. As someone who has worked in retail customer service, including the cell phone industry, this is a despicable way to treat your customers.

Originally it was a very smooth experience in April where I was able to confirm with the store they…read morehad the device and they were quick to take down all of my information and confirm my pricing but it all went downhill from there. For the next 3 months, I'd have to fight with AT&T Customer Service regarding my bill being incorrect (charged $32/month over what I was initially quoted) and them constantly pushing it off by saying they fixed the issue (but it turns out they were only manually adjusting the bill each time without a permanent or correct fix). It was not until this month where the AT&T Customer Service finally confirmed for me that they had initially misquoted me the price and promised a promotion that was on my quote but not eligible to my address and their initial solution was to open a case for me to follow up on and draw out until August when I would be incorrectly billed again. At the end, she was able to help me apply another courtesy credit and also cancel my service, but will not be returning to this location and would not trust any of the numbers they give you as the store, billing and sales department seems to operate differently, separately and can only point fingers at each other.
