After we left our room one of masseuse kept asking us for tips and we didn't know how to respond as she followed us out to the lobby. OK, I'm not gonna lie. I honestly think I just had the best massage of my life. I had 90 minute deep tissue massage with a girl named summer. She really got into all of my knots. Today's massage was not up to par but I know the job of a masseuse is tiring so even though it was not up to standards and I had to ask her multiple times during my massage to give more pressure, I still tipped 25% which is higher then the recommended tip that was written in the front. My masseuse threw a hissy fit and complained and said she wanted more! Well if you wanted more which I'm more then happy to give if your work warranted more! But obviously if I had to ask you during the massage for more pressure and you didn't meet standards then you will receive what you have earned. I used to go here a lot to get the combo of massage and facial but they keep raising the price which isn't reasonable because 1: the massage is routinely and they only do tapping like i tell them to add more pressure or show them how i want them to massage me and they get mad because i dont like how they're massaging me by just doing the minimum. I always bought gift cards here for my family members to get their massages and they always loved it but I have never been until now! We got the couples massage in a private room for $100! They charge a few more dollars if you use you card. We called ahead and made a reservation for our couples massage. When we entered they just showed us a room and gave no instructions. Basically when you enter the room, they provide a box for your belongs and you strip down to your underwear and lay face down on the table until your masseuses' arrives. The room was slightly cold so we were able to ask them to turn on the heat. They went ham on my back and shoulder blades. It felt reallly good but man I was sore after my massage. They might look like small ladies but they have strong hands. Overall, the massage was nice and good. I wish they worked more on my front and not focus most their time on my shoulder blades but that's my problem area. It's nice that the front has a chart of how much to tip the masseuses' also. The facility looked nice from the waiting area versus the actual building itself on the outside. I called probably 2 hours ahead of time when they opened and I was able to make a same day couples massage appointment for 90 minutes. When you enter, it's upfront payment. If it's done in cash, the 90 min massage is $75/person. If you're doing with card, they charge you an additional $3 per person which is $78/person. They were quick to guide us to our rooms after we used the restrooms. They had a nice little cubby to place all your personal belongings so it's not out in the open. It was nice and dim inside with music playing overhead to set the calming serene mood. The pressure applied was very hard so if you're not used to almost like a deep tissue type of feel, I suggest you go elsewhere or tell them to apply lighter pressure. Occasionally, there would be other customers on the other side of the door walking through the walkway and you can hear the workers guiding them but it was mostly muffled out by the music playing overhead. So the walls weren't thin where you can easily hear what's going on outside. Majority of the focus was on the upper back but there was decent amount of focus on the rest of the body which was nice. Once done, they leave so you can get dressed. Then the masseuse kind of wait right outside the door for you which was kind of weird in my personal opinion since other places I've gone to they wait at the counter and offer water. So I had to awkwardly take the tip out then and there. One other thing I would like to mention was that I wasn't a fan of the massage lotion they used. It just didn't provide as smooth of a coverage as I would like. And the fact that hot stone is an additional $10 and not automatically included was a bummer as well. He's always on time, very professional and does great work on my shoulders and back. I can't quit this place even if it's not the closest spa to me. I usually tip cash, today the receptionist asked to add the tip so whatever I agreed. She then said they recommended 15% and although I have no problem tipping, I prefer to tip after the service. I should not have to tell her that many times and it truly infuriated me. She did not massage my quads at all. The massage felt half assed. I was unable to relax the whole time and at some point I contemplated leaving mid service. The fact that she continued to ignore my requests is truly unprofessional. After the massage, the massage therapist waited outside. I told her thank you and proceeded to leave. They stopped me and pointed at the sign that said they recommended 15% tip and I was definitely not about to pay her more than what I had already tipped after she kept being rough and I did not enjoy my massage. I explained my reasoning and she walked away from me while I was talking. Truly, this was very embarrassing for me and so unprofessional. The girl at the front desk even kept emphasizing the whole recommending of a higher tip even after I just said I was not happy with how much pressure she kept applying even after I kept asking and it seriously pissed me off that they have no regard for the actual satisfaction of their clients. My mom has gotten plenty of massages at this location that she was satisfied with, but she and her friend got a massage almost 3 weeks ago on January 26th, and she has been experiencing a sharp pain from her ribs to her back ever since then. The guy who worked on her seemed young and new to the job and used his elbow and his entire weight on her a lot of the time. He focused on her right side where he claimed had a bump that he was working on, so she endured the pain for a while but at one point, the pressure was too much for her. She now had to seek medical attention since the pain has persisted for so long and ended up with bruised ribs. She understands that he may have been new to the job, but the staff should be mindful of how much force they're using and adjust accordingly to their client by communicating with them to ensure their comfortability. My family and friends have been going here for years. They no longer do the big open rooms. All are private or for couples. Many of the same staff are there but many have left as well. Prices are higher now, as is everything in the last few years. Massage are good and sometimes a little too deep but I think they understand enough English to adjust. I have a favorite person and know what to expect but when it's not Wei than I have to communicate as best I can what I'm looking for.
