There seemed to be a very strong expectation for a large tip (around 50% or more). I left a $15 tip based on what I felt was appropriate for the total price of the service. After that, the staff became upset and started speaking about me in their language. I couldn't understand everything, but it was clear from the tone and the words used that they were not happy and I heard something along the lines of "cheap." Tipping should always be appreciated but not demanded or enforced. Unfortunately that interaction at the end took away from what was otherwise a good massage. Before I always come here every so often, they would always have a lot of older male masseur, now they can't even have one on site. So on Friday night, around 6:45 pm, I walked in like I always do and asked if they have any male masseurs and the 3 ladies there said yes and asked me to pay now....aaah.. no, I'm not paying until I see the man. So I waited for 20 minutes, I should of just left because those 3 ladies were calling any guy to come massage me. When I was about to leave, the guy in his 60's walked in and they lady said "ok ?", ok fine, he's good looking, that's the only reason I stayed. Paid $45 for an hour body massage and he took me to the room. Once he started pushing, I knew it was going to be a joke because it was so soft that i said harder and he did for 2 seconds. The whole time was massaging over the sheets, barely 5 minutes of oil massage. Dang, his massage sucks so bad, I could of paid the homeless guy outside to do a better job. So when it was over, I asked his name and he said Sung Ning ? Or Sunny ? I just tip him $20 to get out of there. While I was walking for the MT, I was sitting at the front and the boss lady was dressed so provocative for her age, she's probably in her 60's and dressed like a teenager with a tub top, short skirt all the way up her butt cheeks. I saw 2 guys coming in asked for " boss lady " and she took his hand and pulled him inside. I'm sorry, but any professional MT, don't hold your clients hand, giggling and pull you into the room like you two are dating. Is unprofessional and disgusting. Came here the other night around 5pm. My fiancé and I needed a massage so we were recommended to come here by my nail lady. I got a male masseuse and my fiancé got a female masseuse. I was pretty happy with my masseuse, my only complaint is he started late (so it wasn't a full hour) and he kept answering phone calls. My fiancé complained the female masseuse was too soft, as if she was rubbing lotion instead of getting knots out. This place was good and affordable. Opened room $25 and private room $45 an hour. Nana and Lisa worked on my body, from head to toes. if you are satisfied, please be generous with the masseurs, as they do not have any salary or hourly wages. Tip is the only income for them. Today, I visited Bali foot spa for the first and last time. I thought a $5 tip on a $30 massage (over 15%) should be acceptable. As I was leaving out the door, I get 5 different employees harassing me about giving a bigger tip. The man who massaged me began insisting a $10 tip in a manner I felt was not only greedy but aggressive. I was not willing to accommodate this request as my masseuse conversed and even argued with other employees during my massage - not very relaxing. Instead of accosting your patrons about tipping more maybe ask, "Ma'am, what can we do to make your next experience more enjoyable?" and EARN a bigger tip the next time. When I saw my friend's (Van D.) 5-star review, I knew that this would be a great place... Jennifer, Belle, Alana, and I had some time before dinner. Belle suggested that we go for a massage. Jennifer knew that $20 an hour is a reasonable price, so we searched our Yelp app and found Bali Foot Spa. Jennifer called for a reservation for the four of us and we got in right away on a Saturday afternoon. The parking was free and plentiful. The interior seemed clean and the service was efficient. I was worried about the language difference, but I soon caught on that my masseuse was calling me, "lady", and not by my name! Haha! After paying cash up front at the desk, we were led into a dark room with many low "cots" and "footstools". This type of furniture allows for more options. We started off sitting on the wide footstools which were pushed together to make the "cot" into a longer "bed". We all asked for "no feet" so we could skip the foot soak and concentrate on our shoulders, necks, and backs. We placed our clothes and purses into a plastic box and were given wraparound towels for our torsos. After the neck and shoulder massages, we laid down on the bed and later flipped over for more back treatment with oil and hot towel. We all kept our underwear on - everything was professionally done. I woke up the next morning with some tightness. I think it's from the stretching that we went through. It wasn't as contorting as the massages I had in Thailand, but it was a bit of upper body twisting and leg stretching. They are located on the corner of McFadden and Beach near Pho Vie and a Vietnamese Supermarket. I got the 1 hour full body massage with hot stones and it was pretty amazing. I am not comparing it to a fancy swedish or deep tissue massage, but for a "foot massage" business this is probably one of my better experiences. You start sitting on the chair with your feet soaking in the warm water while they work out the knots in your neck, shoulders and upper back. Afterwards you lay face up while they work on your scalp, face, neck and shoulders. Then they move to your arms and then your feet. Afterwards they flip over face down where they use a pleasantly scented massage oil and massage your back. This is where the amazing hot stones come in. My massage therapist was very knowledgeable and instinctively knew where my knots and aches were. I definitely feel like I got my money's worth from this place. I have been to a number of these type of massage places. Nice to get a room with a door. Here, room is heated if cold, A/C if too warm. The lights are dimmed so you can relax. I go early in the morning weekday if possible so it is very quiet too. I have seen them change the sheet after the massage. Some of these other Asian massage places in Westminster do not change the sheets after each patron which is yucky. May I suggest not be cheap on the tip? Consider if you give 15% to 25% tip to a server at a restaurant who you may see for 5 to 10 minutes service while you are there, why would you not give much more tip for someone who is there with you working for an hour massage? Service has been great here. The massage is $45, then I tip $30+. The total is still very inexpensive than the non-Asian massage places I have been to where they charge over $130 plus 20% tip at a hotel resort or cruise ship. My husband and I came in for massages on 3-11-23. The massages were excellent! However, when we tried to pay for the massages with the two gift certificates we obtained pre-Covid (gift certificates had no expiration date), we were informed the business had been bought by a new owner during Covid and the new owner would not honor the gift certificates. After researching the issue, I spoke to the manager and explained the law that requires the new owner to honor the gift certificates. He continued to refuse to accept the gift certificates. I asked to speak to the new owner in an attempt to resolve the issue but was told by the manager that he did not know the new owners name and did not know how to contact her. I was referred to Bali Foot Spa back in 2019 and was a loyal customer, encouraging others to go and that they were kind and did a great job.. However the last few times I have gone I have noticed a decline in the quality of massage and attitudes of the masseuse. I am sure the last time I went will be the last time I choose this location. I brought my significant other with me for his first time after telling him how great this place was and we both got a 90 min full body, my masseuse was absolutely terrible. I even asked him to be gentler, mind you I prefer firm and this was not firm, I legit thought he was going to cause damage or hurt me. Not only that, but he spoke to the other masseuse and then proceeded to just do whatever he wanted and had a nasty attitude and was just not enjoyable. I did not want to ttip, but I know how tough the times are and I get it, I am human. I always tip, generously, always and I provided a $15 tip to EACH masseuse on a $40 massage and they stood there and looked at me like I had three heads. Then asked me for MORE. I was shocked and not only that but the entire waiting area was full of their other staff and they started yelling and saying to give them more. I will never return, I was absolutely disgusted by that type of treatment and I am telling as many people as I know who I have referred over the years because it was not right.. Especially after seeing the other reviews experiencing a similar experience..it seems something has changed because I had never received that kind of treatment over the years until recently. I see the owner responding to similar reviews saying they have "no asking for tips" policy, I call your bluff because not only have I read it multiple times but experienced it myself. Treat your staff better and pay them fair wages, so they dont turn off loyal customers.. no one would berate and risk clients returning if they werent being taken care of behind the scenes.
