Oh, Veggie Village, it's been too long!! I have been pescatarian for over 2 1/2 years now and I have not come back to this restaurant since eight years ago. Why, I have no idea, but I finally came today to order takeout, and I ordered the lettuce wraps, the salt and pepper, shrimp, and the general tso chicken. The food was incredibly delicious! Where have I been!? My husband and I were very happy and will make sure we come back more often. They offer vegetarian and vegan options which is a huge plus.

Yu-Xiang eggplant and tofu

Wonderful restaurant with delicious fresh vegan dishes and excellent prices! I had the Yu-Xiang eggplant and tofu entree and the hot and sour soup. Such generous portions and both so delicious! I would have loved both of them to be more spicy, but otherwise they were prepared perfectly. My server was super nice and I enjoyed talking with her. Wish they had a location in the east valley!

A consistent fav of mine! When the other veggie village location closed, I was happy to find this one still open! This place doesn't lean on heavy fake meats or oily sauces. They can be spice heavy but they're happy to cut it down if you request. Everything tastes bright, crisp, and lively. The fresh Vietnamese roll is a wonderful combo inside as it has greens so fresh they snap, and the peanut dressing although not gluten free is savory and packed with flavor. Always leave feeling energized and full in my stomach and heart every time instead of weighed down -- which can be rare after eating out. My favorite is the vegan Singapore fried rice noodle and my partner loves the vegan sesame chicken. I always ask for a full glass of water at the table because their food makes me drink water for some reason perhaps due to more spice than I'm used to. Super friendly, sweet and knowledgeable women servers. Highly recommend! 071025

I am far from a vegetarian and we tried this place tonight, the service was impeccable and the food was amazing!!!! It surprised me and I will be back! I want to try all the things. I had the salt and pepper shrimp. My wife had the salt and pepper eggplant and added the sweet and spicy sauce on the side (do that!). We had the jap chae (so good) and my coworker go the general tsos chicken. Everything was flavorful and wonderful.

Eggplant Tofu

One of my favorite restaurants! Great food and friendly service. The Tom Yum Tofu is my favorite, I crave it all of the time. Also love the Hawaiian Fried Rice. My mom got an eggplant tofu dish, I can't remember the name but it was also very good. We split hot raspberry tea which was also great!

My goodness! Now... I saw the photos and said this looks just like the food I used to eat when I ate meat... let me see how good it is. First of all, everything on the menu sounds delicious. I got the General Tso Chicken and that first bite... oh my. It had a good crunch on it and then went tender and the flavor... ON POINT! If I was staying in AZ longer, I would have gone back and tried all the things. The drinks are also delicious. I grabbed a pink passion. Since I dined in, I had to control my food dancing but trust me when I say you need to visit this spot. Seems like they do a lot of to-go orders but sitting inside is peaceful. When I came in I was greeted and seated instantly. The staff was very attentive. I also appreciated the level of care around cleanliness. This will be a stop every time I'm in town. Any wait to bring a travel buddy with me.

Tofu Cajun pho lovely flavors very natural and calming during the cold weather some hot jasmine tea on the side very blended taste this place feels very soothing and has calming music very good place 10/10 recommend

70. Vegan Beef & Broccoli, but modified with mushrooms instead of carrots.

Simply excellent, healthy, fresh, and great tasting food! The fact that's also cruelty-free is just icing on the cake. Only negative is that it sometimes gets a hair crowded because they're so busy (especially on weekends), but it's worth the visit. Highly recommended:-)

4.5 Stars Veggie Village is the best collective of vegetarian or vegan option when you're looking for Asian food in the Phoenix area. Some options are also available in gluten free. They are very observant on how to prepare your meal. They have my trust when I place my order at Veggie Village. The best thing besides the food is the great service! The only bad thing I can say about Veggie Village is the parking lot situation.

39. Singapore Fried Rice Noodle
Donna M.

This is my first time at Veggie Village. It's around the corner from my job and I was told the food was really good, so I decided to try it. On Wednesdays they have a special all noodle and fried rice 20% off. I got the protein noodles a little on the spicy side. It was amazing with soybean shrimp, beef, peppers, mushrooms and the spice was perfect! This will be my new spot to try different meals on Wednesdays.

I just love Veggie Village's concept of creative, aromatic & delicious Asian Plant Based food. I have my go-to favorites: *Crispy Salt & Pepper Fish *Combo Lo Mien *Dumplings *Freshly made Cucumber-Mint Lemonade I promised myself the next time I would expand my palate & try something else. You can not beat the prices for the portion & each time I order from here whether Take Out or Delivery, I'm never disappointed. Highlighting the customer service - if you have a question about your order, a friendly voice from the restaurant eagerly assists.

Great food!! Only downside is, and it's a downside: please crank the AC down some, it's not so great eating dinner when it's 80 degrees inside, so show me where the Nest thermostat I'd and let me have at it. The hot and sour soup is very good. Wish the iced tea came unsweetened also.

Okay this place is COOL cool…read more My husband and I were immediately intrigued by the Vietnamese influence on the menu because that fusion absolutely speaks to both of us. Come to find out, the original concept in Phoenix was actually a pho restaurant called "Pho King" -- yes, spelled P-H-O and King. I literally died laughing. In all my years of eating pho, I've never heard of a white guy owning a pho spot -- but that's exactly how this started. The owner is married to a Latina, and the menu reflects the foods they love. That evolution turned into Dilla Libre #1, and now there are multiple locations. I love a good glow-up story. The space itself is packed with lucha libre memorabilia -- belts, masks, merch, artwork -- it's everywhere in the best way. It's playful but not cheesy. Bar vibe, colorful tables, cool energy. Very hang-with-friends, Taco Tuesday, happy-hour type of place. Now the food. They have an entire regular menu AND a completely separate vegan menu (including dessert ). Not just one sad option -- a whole menu. That always earns points with me. I had the vegan banh mi tacos and they were delicious. Fresh, flavorful, balanced -- nothing over-portioned or sloppy. My husband had a quesadilla and said it was just as good. The cauliflower bites had real spice (not pretend spice), and the habanero salsa actually brought heat. Flavor across the board. Our waiter talked with us forever about the history and concept -- super welcoming, super chill. And when they handed me a free sticker, the employee joked, "It's free... unless you're mean to me." I was sold Eclectic. Unexpected. Culturally blended in a way that feels authentic to the owners' story. It's rare to see Vietnamese and Mexican influences on one menu in a way that makes sense -- but this works. Didn't try drinks (I don't drink), but they have solid specials and Taco Tuesday deals if that's your thing. Would I go back? Absolutely. Fun vibe. Good flavor. Cool backstory. And yes... I'm keeping the sticker.

Right on Camelback, in a little nook of a building with a book store/coffee shop attached. We entered and were seated immediately. If you read any of my previous reviews, you'll know that my wife loves oysters. Per usual, that where we started. We got the oyster and a bottle of prosecco. A few mimosas to start the day. My friend arrived almost exactly when the oysters and bottle came out. We chatted and perused the menu. We were in no rush as we drank through the first bottle. My wife got the pizza that was on the menu. I forgot what they called it, but it was good. Nice crust, a savory sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. My friend ordered avocado toast I believe or something very similar. She's a psycho path that runs 20 miles every morning so she was ready to take in carbs. She tore through it like a starving cheetah tears through a gazelle. I had an omelette which was pretty good, but nothing that knock me out of my seat. It could have used a bit of seasoning but in all decent. We ordered a second bottle and that is when their DJ began playing music. He played soft jazz which definitely was not the vibe we were looking for. None of the aforementioned mention brought this rating down to a three star review. It was all 4 star worthy accept the service was not great. Far from it actually. Don't worry I still tipped 20% as I feel it's a bare minimum, but he didn't deserve it. As I stated we were seated immediately, but it took our server nearly 15 minutes to even acknowledge us. I didn't know who it would be, but when he finally did all I could think is that he passed our table numerous times prior to stopping. Once he did there was a serious "I do not want to be here" vibe in his body language and tone. My friend who didn't arrive till the oysters and bottle were served missed that initial interaction but immediately noticed it. She an A type and wanted to complain to the manager. I got her to let it go. I know every has there days and this might have been his. Through out our stay here, he rarely checked in on us. As a matter of fact I believe we drank through each bottle before he checked in. This is the sole reason my rating went from a 4 to a 3. I hope the guy was ok, but I wish it could have been something he didn't bring to work with him. No pictures again. Sorry... I really just like to enjoy the moments with the people I am with and forget to take pictures.

The mango avocado roll caught my eye right away -- so we ordered that roll, the buffalo cauliflower and the cheesy garlic bread -- my friend really wanted the cheese garlic bread because she can never eat anything like this in another restaurant because of her dairy allergy. We also ordered a bottle of sav blanc -- it was good but maybe a little cheap, I had a headache the next day...who knows if it was the wine? Anyway, we ordered two other rolls the asparagus crunch roll and the philly roll. The asparagus roll was amazing!! The philly roll was kind of eh -- it was good but just not very flavorful. Since it was busy in there it was kind of slow for each item to come out but I was catching up with friends so I wasn't too bothered. The waitress was very nice and attentive so that is always a plus. I really want to try the brunch and so many more things on the menu so I will definitely be back!!

Here's the updated version:…read more Tacos Vegonos is hands down the best vegan Mexican spot I've found, and I'm picky! Growing up on San Diego taco shop street food, I have a high bar for Mexican food, and this place hits home in a way nothing else around here does. The selection is unbeatable -- there's literally nothing on the menu that isn't good! I used to eat here one to three times a week. My work schedule changed and now it kills me that I can't get out as often, since they're in central Phoenix and I'm out in far East Gilbert. But trust me -- this place is absolutely worth the drive. The birria is my go-to on anything, and I'll often do a 50/50 split on the nachos or the fries -- both are killer! I remember when they were just a taco truck, and the food was amazing then too. Moving to a brick-and-mortar didn't change a thing -- same incredible quality, same fantastic customer service every single visit. Worth your money and worth the trip, even if you're not vegan! I was glad we got there when we did because shortly after we put our order in there was a line almost to the door. It is counter service so you kind of need to know what you are getting and everything looks so yummy it was super hard to decide. I got the AZ burrito with birria, which is made with jackfruit. It's meant to be like pulled pork. It was huge and very messy. They tortilla was very rubbery but the filling was good and I think there were French fries in there? Maybe that is what makes it an AZ burrito? Overall the flavor was good but it needed something else like beans or guac. It just tasted very one note. Also I got the horchata. It was delicious. My mom got the surf and turf taco. Again the tortilla was tough to eat so she got a fork and a plate and tore into it. This one had the "asada" soy steak and then breaded and fried pieces of cauliflower. The fake meat was not that good. It was too salty and so was the rice. The cauliflower although tasty was so big it was hard to eat. Overall it was good but not as amazing as I had wanted it to be. I likely won't go out of my way to come back.
