Salty . Big portions but no quality. French fries coming from a bag not freshly cut. Dish Chicken in cream some pieces undercooked and hard plus very salty big pieces of onions . Steak carnitas was hard no tender . Chicken wings weird salsa overwhelmingly just cover on top no celery or carrots . Chips and salsa were tomato salsachips ok. If you're in the glacier/columbia falls area and craving mexican food, Vaqueros will satisfy your cravings though won't blow your mind. We ordered the guacamole, taco salad, and enchiladas with salsa verde. - The enchiladas with the beans and rice were tasty, though you couldn't really taste the salsa verde. - The taco salad was yum also, with a nice crispy (and large) taco shell. The chicken was moist, but I felt like the majority of the dish was overwhelmed by the guacamole and sour cream. - Unfortunately, the guacamole tasted straight from a store bought container. So, I'd definitely save your money on this one. Overall, again, I'd say if you're craving Mexican food after a long hike, this place will satisfy. The food is mediocre but still tasty. The huckleberry margaritas are phenomenal and worth the trip. The portions are HUGE but the beef and bean nachos were 85% bean and 15% beef. Where's the beef!!! Wife's shrimp mojo de ago lacked garlic flavor. The salsa tasted like it was out of a can and should definitely be improved upon! We are from Texas and know good Mexican food. Visiting Glacier NP from California and stayed in Glacier. We were frustrated by the limited food options in Coram and West Glacier so decided to head a bit further out. So happy we did. We were a bit skeptical at first because there wasn't a sign out front, but once we entered the restaurant, we were pleasantly surprised. Very cozy Mexican restaurant. Service was great. Everyone was very attentive and accommodating. The food was really good. Coming from CA, we can be pretty picky about good Mexican food. But, food was very flavorful. Lots of options on the menu and each of us got something different. Good food all around. If we lived closer, we would be regulars. The place just felt friendly and welcoming. Having lived in Texas for all my life I know what good Mexican food is and having travelled quite a bit I don't eat Mexican food more than 50 miles north of the Red River. Gave Vaqueros and chance and was pleasantly surprised. The salsa was a little tame for me but rest was pretty tasty. Had fajitas and they served all the fixings with it. I am local and have eaten at this restaurant well before it became vasqueros. This has been the 3rd time this exact thing has happened. I ordered a "kids" quesadilla to find it covered in guacamole, sour cream, and filled with more jalapeños than I could bear to taste. I cant feed my 3 year old a jalapeño filled tortilla. All other food was "okay" yet still too many jalapeños. I hope the people here pay attention to what the customer orders and not what they want to serve. My kid could've had big problems with a blistered esophagus had I not caught this grave error. Never had any other problems here. They can't make a quesadilla that doesn't give you a stomach issue. So truth time, I'm from California, I know what good Mexican is (and I've lived in Montana so I'm only partially an elitist snob) but this wasn't bad. The ambiance was pleasant, the restaurant itself clean, and our sevrver was prompt and efficient (though I wish I'd caught her name). Parking was somewhat of a pain because we parked out front, but the restaurant entrance was in the back, which we didn't know until we walked through the casino. (Something to note for non-locals). The horchata was delicious and my mother and sister adored the flautas. But that's about where my praise ends. My dad found his cheese enchilada had more flavor than his beef tamale and that the black beans (served on request) were also pretty blah. The steak in my fajitas salad had good flavor, the parts that weren't burnt. Overall an okay experience, but not one I'm necessarily in a hurry to repeat. read more

While visiting Glacier National Park we stopped in to eat here. I ordered the Quesadilla and a beef taco on the side just in case I'd be disappointed. And let's just say---don't order the veggie quesadilla. How can you mess up a quesadilla in any combination?? They used cheddar cheese instead of queso and it wasn't even melted. The veggies were tasteless and the flour tortilla taste store bought and they didn't take the time to grill it. Hubby ordered his usual fajitas and he wasn't impressed either. Tried this on a Thursday evening on recommendations after complaining about the lack of good Tex-Mex in the valley. Found it ! No wait, nice place & decor. Wife's fajita quesadilla was huge & delicious. She declared the frozen marg was the best she'd had in a long time. I like to try different dishes so I had the Pollo de La creama. It was interesting & very tasty. The hot sauce is great, chips are a little bland but the first round is free. Staff is friendly & helpful. Although a nice lady did try to take our plates when we paused to breath. The portions are very generous. Waiter brought our check mid meal, unasked for. Didn't offer another drink or even dessert. Be that as it may, best Mexican restaurant I have tried in the Flathead. My new fav for Mexican food. read more

I went for lunch with a friend the other day. The chips tasted like out of a bag and warmed. The salsa was like a generic jar from the grocery store. I had the carna asada burrito which had very little meat but lots of rice and beans. ( filler ) It wasn't bad, just not great. My friend ordered a two item combo, Chicken taco and tamale.
