On our way to a nearby steakhouse, we noticed that Agave was crowded. Without reservations, getting seated with the steakhouse was going to be almost an hour. That is why we stopped here. We were seated without a minute. Service while there was good. The food portions are large so be hungry. The atmosphere is inviting and if the weather is nice, they have a cute balcony/deck overlooking the water. read more

Great food and Great service!! The server was very nice and attentive to our needs. It was a good atmosphere, the food was great!!

Food: I must have ordered the wrong things. I see reviews calling this authentic, and fantastic. I'm going to disagree on that. Being a Mexican from the Southwest...hard no. I had the Pork Verde Chimichanga (I'm aware that chimi is not authentic) and the pork filling was so bland. So bland. The rice was flavorless, and the beans lacked salt. My husband had a chili Arellano, which he enjoyed, but he felt that the enchilada lacked flavor. We felt the chips & salsa were generous, and thank goodness because we slathered our food in that salsa. I knew better than to order the margarita...I had something called the diva. It was weak, and not cheap. Ambiance: The bar was very large & the restaurant had lots of tables. The Music was on a loop & we both commented that we felt like we heard about 4 songs over & over. It just felt lazy when there is so much tech available to put in a decent sound track. Customer service: Very good. The staff was friendly & efficient. I felt like this place might get pretty lively on a Friday night & the layout has so much potential. read more

Food quality was very good. The service while sitting at the bar? Slow, considering the number of patrons. Only the food would bring me back... read more

We sat the bar, we eat here quite often, the atmosphere good, very clean, probably need to turn off the gutting animal shows, and trian the staff to pay more attention to getting food out while it's hot, than flirting with the other employees. Thank you read more

I came here for lunch today, as I wanted to try this new addition to the area. This new restaurant is in an old Applebee's building and the parking lot had been full since I saw it was open. First, the ambiance is great - they made great use of the space, updating and upgrading the decorations, tables, chairs and booths - pretty much everything. I also liked that you can hear yourself think - its not super noisy! There is just a nice quiet hum of happy diners. Next, I was pleased to find out they have fresh brewed ice tea - the only way to have it. That with the chips and salsa came, and we were off to a good start. The salsa has a nice little heat to to it. I ordered a cheese enchilada, a shrimp taco and rice. All were very good. The food is classic American/Mexican food, which I love. The service was also fantastic, while the kitchen was a bit slow at the lunch rush, the server checked on me several times and gave me an update. This was nice. Will I be back? Absolutely. read more

Tried this New Mexican restaurant and it was pretty good. I'm giving it only 4 stars because the chips seemed like they were poured out of a bag of cheap chips. Salsa was good just needed them to make their own chips. I had an enchilada rice and beans. All very tasty and hot. My fiancé had the fajitas and liked them too. The place was super busy and service was a tad slow but we'd probably come back and try it again. read more

Excellent. Excellent food choices, excellent service. Excellent prices. I was pleased surprised during my first visit here. The quality, the taste was all there. I was taken aback by the portions. We could barely finish our appetizer. This is my new place. Everything was authentic. I just say enough good things about Agave. A+ for everything. read more

Agave Cantina and Grill - A unique drink including tequila in a clay bowl. - Mexican Near Me - Kalispell, Montana

I suppose rating a restaurant on New Years eve isn't really fair, but here goes anyway. As you can imagine, it was swamped! We were a party of 3 adults and 2 small kids, 1 in a high chair. It took a good 20 minutes to get a table, but we did get our drinks pretty quickly and put in our order. The service was very friendly and didn't appear to be overwhelmed. There looked to be plenty of staff. And, as far as ambiance goes, it didn't really feel like a Mexican restaurant. If you visited when it was Applebee's, it just felt like an upgraded Applebee's with lots of brick arches. It was nice and all, but not very Mexicany. It did take a good half hour to get our order though. I ordered the enchiladas with fried eggs and sauce with shredded beef. Those were good although the eggs were over cooked with the yokes being hard. The beans and rice were terrible, however. If you're looking for very good Mexican food with fast service and a more authentic ambiance, I recommend Casa Mexico. Especially on a warm summer evening on their spacious patio. read more

I came from California & I kept being told come to this restaurant & try the Mexican food, & when you are serving you expect your server to greet you nicely & also mention any specials that were for the day our server was a bigger girl with glasses & was SO RUDE we wanted to leave mid meal because of how rude & everything she would say if we asked a question was full of attitude, every table that was in her section she greeted them nicely & also told them the special but her demeanor & the way she spoke was so kind then she would look at us & have attitude. We are about to be moving here & we willl not be coming here again specifically because of how rude she was. I hope the restaurant sees this & does better with customer service. read more

Went to Agave tonight (Nov 9th). Got seated right away. 10 minutes no water, chips or salsa. Waitress came to take our drink order. We asked her for chips and water. She said someone would be right over. 5 minutes later still nothing. Busser (not to be rude, but the big one) walks by and I ask her for water and chips. She rudely waved her hand in my face, completely dismissing me and walked away. We got up and left. This is the second time this same employee has been overtly rude to my family and I. If management has interior video it was appx. 4:30pm. You can see it for yourself. Done with this rude behavior. read more

This is the one & only good mexican restaurant in all of kalispell! The food & drinks are spot on & the service is great. It's hard to find decent tasting mexican food this far up north so i was pleasantly surprised that they exceeded my expectations. Service was decent. Enchiladas were horrendous, both chicken and pork. We paid $20 for rice and beans that were also bland.

Food is just ok, doesn't give you that omg that was good feeling. Better than the other one south of town if that helps at all.

Be careful! The price on the menu isn't always what you get a bill for! They overcharged me, after politely discussing it with management she offered to refund me.. but, that wasn't the point! How many people don't really check their bills..? Agave: Please put on your menu WHAT WE'RE AGREEING to pay you. When I talked to the manager & she said, sorry but we have a disclosure on the back of the menu that says "prices may very" I call that BS & very sneaky on there part!! read more

Finally we found a delicious Mexican restaurant! I had adobada pork street tacos, they were awesome. Diced meat was flavorful and tender. The tomatillo sauce was very different than I was accustomed to eating. It was spicy, which I love. After arriving home I immediately googled recipes to duplicate my meal. The service was very good and inside decor was traditional looking. However the cushion booth seats were old and saggy. The complementary salsa was very good. But the chips were over sized compared to the small bowl. Oh my we had to break up the chips, just kidding. We can't wait to go back for another meal. read more

Wow, don't know where to start. We don't know what happened to the food quality. We ordered to go, and boy our enchiladas tasted and looked totally microwaved. The enchiladas were like rubber and hard to cut. The cheese was like leather, the sauce was almost gone and just a little sauce on the bottom of container. this meal seemed def microwaved. Used to be steady patron, but never going back there, or never order to go for overpriced garbage. Beans were bland and tasteless. This place has gone down hill! read more

My friend and I decided to try this after driving by it. We were greeted immediately as we entered and seated in a booth. The decor was nice, and it seemed to be steady, but not too busy. Our waiter was decent. He came over after a few minutes, my complaint is the food was not very good. The chips it tasted like they were from a bag. I ordered shrimp fajitas, that all had their tails on which I hadn't experienced with fajitas before. It was just like you expect Montana Mexican food to be.. not great just edible. read more

Waited 15 minutes to get in. Which wasn't bad. The atmosphere was OK. Service was not top notch. The hostesses were worried if the girls hands were cold or not. Chips and salsa served ahead of time. Salsa could use improvement. Tasted like a jar salsa. We ordered beef chimichanga and a chicken chimichanga. After a couple bites of eating a chicken chimichanga, the waiter comes over and says I gave you the wrong one. Instead, I gave you the seafood?! Which could've been seriously bad if somebody was allergic to seafood. The food was very bland. read more
