Kalispell has always been a cool western town in Western Montana. We drove up from Missoula and were headed to Whitefish, MT. The drive around Flathead Lake was gorgeous and everything was very green. Atomic taco in Kalispell has a large local following. This small restaurant was packed on Friday noon. It is counter service with several good options from meat to veggies. We ordered the three taco platters with chips. The el pastor marinated pork with achiote, pineapple, salsa Verde, onions and cilantro was fair with minimal flavor. The asada tacos were grilled steak with onions, salsa verde and cilantro. These were also fair and not much flavor development. The chips had no salsa on the side. I was disappointed with the overall product. Locals are flocking to this establishment and appear to be supporting them quite well. read more

Good veggie options. It's very rare to find a taco shop that has cauliflower let alone kale. Props for that. The cauliflower tacos were flavorful and fresh. They were busy but the service was fairly quick. The one guy up front was working his butt off. It is a bummer that they don't provide free salsa. I recommend getting the queso and the pico (both an extra charge). They have small bottles of grocery store variety Tabasco/hot sauce on the counter but I am not a fan of that. I much prefer cantina type homemade salsa. Drawback - when our food arrived I noticed we had a great portion of freshly made chips and nothing to dip them in. So I got up and ordered queso and pico and realized I was added into the long queue of food waiting to be cooked. So I had to wait about 10 minutes before they came out and I thought it would be a quick thing. The dining room is set up as casual and it was clean. I eat here twice a week. Been coming here since they opened. They have great food and excellent customer service. My order has never been incorrect. My favorite items to order are the chicken tacos and I also get a side of pico de gallo. I also enjoy the Coconut Shrimp burrito. Tonight there was a special and it was Birria Ramen and it was probably the best thing I have ever ate there. Matter of fact I came back for seconds. It was soooo good. read more

One word blah. I ordered the biria tacos and they had zero flavor , the cosome' (sp) had zero taste and just looked like dirty water. Way too expensive for 3 tacos and a bottle of coke with a tip was $20. You can not order single tacos, you have to order their pre selected menu and they do t allow you to mix different tacos. You can only add the same style taco to your order. Would make more since to allow to you pick your tacos and so you can mix and match and try different flavors. Definitely won't be going back. Much potential but misses the punch.. I'm always rooting for a fusion eatery let alone 2 of my favorite flavors, Asian and Mexican! But this place, even with all of the hype, leaves you asking for more, and not in a good way. For one thing, Mexican burrito with no sauce let alone salsa, already a miss. I come here often. It's always great. I have tried almost every taco they have to offer at this point. With my favorite being the chicken taco. The prices are very reasonable. Around 13$ average for the three tacos you get. The queso is to die for especially with the chicken tacos. Staff is friendly and the food is made up pretty quick. Average wait time of around 10 mins. Dragon tacos were . Big portions of meat and great flavor. The interior of restaurant is too small at dinner and was a standing room only for people waiting for take out. Service was meh, nothing bad but nothing great either. It did take quite a bit of time to get my order, almost 28 minutes for 3 tacos and guac... speaking of guac, it didn't come with chips?! The day has come! I've been craving Atomic tacos for months as they transitioned from food truck to their new restaurant space. It's a cozy environment that plays a subtle homage to the WWII "Atomic" vibe with metal chairs sans tables and olive green. The menu has all the beloved favorites and lots of new items. I tried a burrito (these are new) it's massive and delicious. I had the Dragon belly burrito, because I love the tacos. I will probably stick to the tacos moving forward because they are the right size for me (I left so full!). Huge lovely chunks of pork belly cooked just right. I can't wait to go on a Friday and see what they do with the fish taco!! Access is a little tricky at this location and parking is really limited just as an FYI but the super 1 parking lot is just a short walk away and easier to get at. Very nice take out spot that apparently most locals know about. There was a lot of traffic in and out so that suggested the food was pretty good. We ordered carne asada, birra, and Korean style tacos. The carne asada was good, I was not a fan of the birra due to the lack of flavor, the Korean style was as advertised with crispy fresh pork belly. The front counter person kept busy the entire time as we sat in and was super kind. Food took roughly ten to fifteen minutes from order to table. For the price, meal should have come with rice and beans (pretty cheap add on). Guacamole was fresh and delicious. I actually asked if they charged ke for bottled water per the menu board stating water for $1.50, but me and the gentleman said no we charge $1.50 for a cup. meanwhile you can get a large soda for $2.00 which is 1/4 of the size.
