This is a great place to come for drinks. What I really liked about this place is they do have a selection for the non drinkers. (The server called it kids drinks which I didn't appreciate as there are a number of people that don't drink alcohol and that's ok!!) The food was delicious. We had the brussel sprouts and the short ribs. However, for the price it was not worth it. The short rib was very fatty and we got more fat than meat. Let's say we were still hungry afterwards but did think the food justified the cost. Therefore, we payed our bill and left. Overall, this place is great. I just will come back next time for lunch since that menu is more affordable.

Tasty food and cozy atmosphere. Always happy to support local places. Our waitress was friendly too. Only gave it 3 stars because the menu was limited, a lot of their entrees were not available on the day we went, and there were not a lot of vegetarian/pescatarian options.

Double burger for dad and kids burger for the princess

My daughter and I stopped in to try the new Smash Burger menu. We were not sure what to expect. The menu was simple with some great choices of 4 types of burgers. Sides were chips and a sliced pickle. We both agree that this burger is one of the BEST burgers in Flathead! We each had something different and equally enjoyed our choice. This will be a new weekly stop for sure. Justin, the owner, served us with a smile while tending to a good crowd enjoying the same thing. Do not miss this place! Oh, they also have great hand crafted drinks if you're in the mood.

I'm a Kalispell native but I rarely wander to Evergreen. This was my first time at Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits. WOW, I was blown away. This tiny establishment is cozy and well decorated. The ambiance is incredibly inviting. We were greeted immediately by the friendly bartender. She made us feel welcomed and offered us two comfortable chairs by the window. She made me a delicious mocktail and was so accommodating when I told her my food order (short ribs) and dietary restrictions (nut allergy). She immediately came up with the perfect substitution! The food came out quickly and was well-portioned. All of our dishes were clearly made with FRESH ingredients. Everything tasted delectable. I'm looking forward to returning and trying one of the many cocktails!

Stopped in because I found that there was a speakeasy in Kalispell and I had to check it out. Come to find out, it's just a speakeasy menu. There's no secret knock or password. Just walk right in and grab a seat. I ordered the aviation and it was a little ion the sweet side. I asked the bartender for the prettiest drink I can take a photo for Yelp and she suggested this one. The veggie pita I ordered was REALLY salty, especially the mushrooms. I asked for a side of tzatziki sauce and it helped balance that saltiness.

If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Anthony, the mixologist, was amazing! Such a helpful, engaged and talented dude. We had the house sour, amaretto sour, spicy coconut margarita (not on menu but ask for it), and the casa de Oro for drinks. All were fabulous, but the amaretto and spicy coco marg were out of this world. Like unbelievably good. For food we got the Brussels sprouts, cornbread with honey butter. And the apricot glazed pork shoulder. I wanted to lick the plate for everything because it was that damn good. Place is intimate and there is a two drink max per person. We came on a Friday at the end of winter and just walked in. But I can imagine you def need reservation in busier months as there is limited seating. Such a special place. Can't wait to come back when we visit Montana again.

We stopped in here this past weekend. Its a cozy spot with an option for bar, regular tables, and couches for seating. The staff here are 5 stars. Knowledgeable and friendly. The food is 4 stars - we had the smoaked trout plate special. The fish was delicious! The plate was paired with things that felt spring like, for February... but we still liked it. I did end up having a slight cross contamination nut allergic reaction. Cocktails are 2 stars - I had a whiskey sour. It didnt have much whiskey flavor and was too tart. It tasted like a lemon drink. It was pretty though. Flight was 3 stars - we tasted all whiskey. All were pretty light on flavors. The cranberry one tasted like cough syrup....... eeek. I didn't purchase any bottles.

Came to this place for dinner based on fellow Yelpers' reviews and they absolutely did not disappoint! They have a variety of unique drinks available. We went with the Bulldog and Amaretto French 75 spritz, which were both great! As others have mentioned, their brussel sprout appetizers were amazing! It had the perfect crunch to it. The wild caught fish (which happened to be steelhead trout) was cooked to perfection with a slight crispy skin to top it off. Everything was seasoned well but not overpowering so you could still taste the food. Five stars for this place! Note: their lunch menu (with the tacos and huckleberry burgers) are only available until 4 pm.

An absolutely fabulous huckleberry hamburger with a 1/2 lb of perfectly cooked deliciousness. The fries are amazing.

Phenomenal, unique food ideas in a great casual atmosphere. The huckleberry burger was just downright fun to eat. The fries were amazing. I was craving a big pub burger and got more than I planned for. The 1/2 lb meat was perfectly cooked. The huckleberries added this incredible flavor that was perfect.

Ask the Community - Whitefish Handcrafted Spirits

Do they have beer on tap here?

No, there is not beer here because it is a distillery, not a brewery. Distillers create distilled spirits, like rum, whiskey, vodka, etc. Brewers create beers.

Is the outdoor seating dog friendly?

Yes, indeed!

Overall, this place was a mix of really impressive food and a few frustrating misses. Ratings * Food: 4.2/5 * Service: 4.5/5 * Atmosphere: 3/5 * Value: 3.5/5 * Overall: 4/5 The Bad First: Chips & Salsa I have to start here because it honestly bothered me. You simply do not charge for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. I don't care how modern eclectic and edgy you think you are. Chips and salsa are basically humanity's welcome gift from Latino culture. Charging $6.50 for them immediately sets expectations high -- and unfortunately, this was the weakest part of the entire meal. Both the regular salsa and the tomatillo salsa were muddy-looking and lacked freshness or brightness. The dominant flavor was artificial smoke. No heat, no freshness, no punch. Honestly, even if they had been complimentary, I still would've thought they missed the mark. Please -- forget the pineapple infusions and overthought concepts. Just make a fresh pico de gallo, a great roasted salsa, and a genuinely good hot sauce. Make THAT your signature and your gift to Whitefish. The Good Stuff Now the good news: the actual entrées were excellent. The Chile Relleno was fantastic -- honestly one of the best I've had anywhere. Perfect texture, rich flavor, and clearly made with care. The tacos were also exceptional. I believe the beef taco was the barbacoa, and it absolutely stood out. I was dining with my parents, both in their 70s, and every entrée at the table was a hit. Service Our waiter Jake was excellent. He was juggling several tables at once but stayed attentive, friendly, and accommodating the entire evening. The hostess was also terrific -- greeted us warmly and seated us immediately. Most of the staff seemed genuinely kind and professional, although one bartender came across noticeably cold and uptight. No smile, very little interaction beyond taking orders and dropping off drinks. Atmosphere & Music I usually avoid reading reviews before posting my own, but afterward I noticed many people mentioned the music -- and I completely agree. It's not just that it's too loud. It's the wrong vibe entirely. The music selection feels more nightclub than relaxed cantina. Good restaurant music should create warmth and energy in the background, not dominate the room. The place itself is attractive and lively, and I was impressed by how busy it was for a Monday night. Bonus points for having hockey on during the playoffs. Final Thoughts This isn't traditional Mexican food, despite some of the branding language about authenticity and traditional ingredients. It feels more like someone's modern interpretation or fusion-inspired version of Mexico. That said -- the kitchen clearly knows how to cook. The entrées were genuinely impressive, and the service was very solid. Fix the salsa. Stop charging for it. Improve the music. Do those three things, and this place goes from "good" to "destination-level." I'll absolutely give it another try this summer. And yes, my mother was Mexican. I grew up on this stuff and have traveled the world having various Mexican concepts.
