We went to Big Mountain Ciderworks on my birthday to try something different. My husband is a beer guy so we frequent breweries, so it was fun to go to a cidery to get so many options that were more my taste. It was early afternoon when we arrived, therefore relatively busy. We waited at the front to be seated and were behind a large group. The hostess saw us behind the group and offered for us to sit at the bar if we were comfortable with that, which is what we would have wanted anyway. I appreciated them noticing us behind the large group and not making us wait while they figured out the seating for the others. There were so many options on the drink menu that it was almost overwhelming! I opted for a flight so I could try multiple small samples before committing to a large glass of anything. First off, the actual food was pretty good (not awesome but definitely not bad by any stretch). The main issue we had was the service, we came in between lunch and dinner and it was dead, there was only one other table when we got there and one other couple came in while we were there but our waitress came by the table to take our order and then to deliver the food. We had to flag her down for refills (second issue) and sat with empty plates and wound up kids for probably 15+ minutes before we were finally able to wave her down to ask for a check and a box. Took her another 10 minutes to bring the check and she forgot the boxes, the manager (I think) actually stopped by and asked if we needed boxes because we had been obviously done for a while and our waitress was mia. I know it's a cider place but serving soda from cans and charging $3 each is absolutely insane, I don't understand not investing in a fountain? Also kind of stark and warehouse-like inside and just wasn't quite our scene. Like I said, the food was good but service was awful, coupled with getting gouged for canned soda and I don't think we will be back. Lots of burger/brewery places in town with better atmosphere, service, food and drinks. read more

Tl;dr - 5 stars for cider, 3 stars for food. We come back here every time we're in the area, but it's not for the food, which rarely exceeds "fine." The cider though is excellent, especially if you like fruit-flavored cider that isn't too sweet. Their fall Moonglow pear cider is my favorite pear cider among many that I've tried, and on my latest trip the summer cherry blossom cider was also great. The food menu, which we've explored quite a bit of over the years, can be a bit disappointing. It's very American pub food, despite some attempts to branch out; everything that tastes decent involves cheese, a creamy sauce, or both. My favorite item is the Bavarian pretzel sticks, which come with a queso dip but are also good with their off-brand Sriracha. The Sriracha, from a company based out of northern Idaho, bears little resemblance to actual Sriracha but it's a non-creamy, spicy, vinegar-based sauce that is mild enough to be used generously as a dipping sauce and a sub for white BBQ horseradish sauce (tastes like a more sour ranch according to my partner who actually liked it) on my Wagyu burger. Said burger patty was good except for being at best medium well when the menu advertised medium rare; toppings were also decent but it's hard to go wrong with blue cheese and pickled red onions. The burger bun was pretty average and overall the burger was, as usual, fine. I've gotten their flatbreads in the past which are also decent/fine... Too much reliance on mozzarella for my taste. But when it's all said and done, we still come back because the cider is awesome and the food is right there. read more

We were told they'd ask about the table, they left and never came back. there were probably only 15 people in the whole place, plenty of tables. They evidently did not want our business. read more

Just left this place after I showed up with my 3 buddies. When I left I gave the guy, yes the guy, a high five. Trying to get more into high fives. They seem intimate. Intimacy is key. Chaching We came her because our friend who has a hurt finger (I chose to not look at the picture of his finger being hurt so I wouldn't faint), told us it is the best burger he has ever had. Damn, this burger was awesome, lived up to the hype and I even got to meet a comedian (the guy I high fived). He talked to us about how he used to have a family. He also told us about how he was in the military, we thanked him for his service, and he said "uhh I didn't do sh**". I am a little confused on the whole "used to have a family" and military thing, but I guess that is why he is a comedian. Back to the burger, I honestly think it lived up to the hype. I got the wagyu with huckleberry stuff and I almost bought some huckleberry champagne jelly today (not sure about that) so I think somehow I was intoxicated by that, hints my motivation for getting this burger, accumulating this burger as my buddy would say. Fries were good too. I will leave it at that. I will leave it at I usually have a tough time eating all my burger and fries, not tonight. read more

We came here after a day at Glacier NP and were starving. We were seated promptly. I'm not always the biggest cider fan but they had a flight of dry ciders, which I got. Ciders were pretty good! I got the prosciutto flatbread for my meal and ate the entire thing. It was really good as well. My friends enjoyed their meals also. Server was friendly and it had a great views of the mountains from inside. There was some outdoor seating, as well, but it was getting cold out so we opted for inside. They also brought out a dessert for my friend's birthday which was super sweet! (And the dessert was good!) A solid spot to try if you're in the area! read more

She has a way of making sure your food and drink needs are satisfied. It was fun trying all the flights, but the food took A HOT MINUTE to come out. Their food is a bit overpriced and one in our group has a gluten allergy and the GF bun was $3 extra! We had a great time at Big Mountain Ciderworks! Thanks to their summer opening hours of 11:30, we were able to go for lunch at noon. There wasn't much going on yet, and our server was very attentive. My friends and I loved our experience at Big Mountain Ciderworks! Although we had to wait 30 minutes for us to be seated, we could watch the sunset outside. The inside was very spacious with tons of seating, and there was also live music! We ordered cider flights (we loved the pineapple and snow devil) and the hot mulled cider, which was surprisingly our favorite even though it was nonalcoholic! We also ordered the following dishes: -Thai fries (3/5): The texture of the fries was good, but the sweet and spicy sauce clashed with the flavors of cider we were drinking. -BMC burger (4/5): Pretty solid burger overall. The bun was so soft and tasty, the sauce was delicious, and the ratio of meat to toppings was really good. The experience would have been even better if there were pickles and larger tomatoes. The onion rings were also slightly over breaded. -Big Jack (5/5): The meat was super juicy! The flavors worked really well together and the texture was perfect. -Makahni Chicken (5/5): As someone who loves butter chicken, this was an amazing dish! I loved that it wasn't too heavy, but still had all the rich flavors from the tomato based sauce. -Pesto Margherita flatbread (5/5): The crust was SO soft and the flavors of the tomato with balsamic vinegar was absolutely perfect. Although our food experience averaged around a 4, I'm giving this place an extra star for great service! Took our family here for dinner as we live close and frequent this business about every other week. They were short staffed and told us that. We waited about 20 minutes for a table which was fine. After being seated we waited an hour for someone to take our order she only came after my husband went to the hostess and asked if we had a waitress. We had both appetizers and our dinner order taken at the same time as we had been there an hour and 20 minutes and wanted to make sure we got our food. After about 15 minutes our appetizers came and we were told dinner would be out shortly. We looked around and noticed all these tables with people that had come in after us were getting their meals served. Another 1/2 hour went by and we were done! We got up from the table and my husband asked to speak to the owner. The waitress told my husband the order was ready to be served but we were done waiting. My husband told the owner what happened and said he wanted to pay the bill. She apologized and took off one appetizer for us. If the meal was truly ready, she should have packed it up and sent it home with us at no charge for their screw up! No worries, we will drive into town for our food now. Also, we were there two weeks ago and I watched your hostess setting a table drop some silverware on the floor and then she proceeded to put it on the clean table. That's disgusting! read more

My wife and I visited today on our last day in Montana. I cannot recommend this place highly enough. Definitely one of the best cider mills (if not the best cider place we've been to). The vibe was immaculate and the ciders we tried were Snow Devil (personal favorite), Blackberry, Moonglow Pear were all straight fire. The staff was so welcoming and such a vibe to spend our time with. Cara was so informative about the location and surrounding areas. We just clicked and felt like we had known her for our entire lives. Great stories and interactions with Torin and Jen as well. If you have the opportunity to stop here, do it. I think this is a local business! I got a curry wrap that was a bit overseasoned and I got tired of the taste two thirds of the way in, but other than that, the food has tasted great! I grew up in Kalispell (I'm from WA) and this place is relatively new to the area. It's very cool! Clean venue, good cider selection, and the food is amazing! I had the Bacon Brie burger but I literally wanted everything on the menu cause every item sounded amazing! If I had to order something else it would be a flatbread pizza or one of the appetizers to myself lol. We were a party of eight and were seating within 15 minutes on a Friday evening. When we asked the server to split the check four ways, she said she could only split it down the middle. Was pleased with our experience at Big Mountain Cider-works. We definitely liked some ciders more than others. The original and snow beast were our favorites along with the cherry pie (a blend of the original and snow beast. Our food was delicious. I had the pear and prosciutto flatbread and mom had the veggie bowl with peanut sauce. The chocolate mousse toffee cake for desert was out of this world. Some of the seats are really uncomfortable (especially if you are more curvaceous) but we were able to switch to a table with better seats. Bingo happens every Wednesday night! read more

First off the location snd the building are great. Clean, spacious and the furniture is made from old buildings. On this Wednesday night, there is acoustic guitar music going on in the corner and a decent crowd, and it's not even too loud. I got the combo cider flight. Many interesting ciders and even if cider is not your thing...I think you may find something you entice you here. For food I had the pretzel knots....forgettable and the arugula prosciutto flatbread....better but not amazing. This needs a little fine tune to be firing on all cylinders. It's so close. I don't feel like I can truly review this place yet. Yes I did come here but did not get to enjoy the cider, service or food. The place is nicely located and spacious indoors. Feels rustic and trendy. When my husband and I arrived, it seemed lively with many people but still there appeared to be tables available. A sign said wait to be seated and we waited. And waited, as servers walked by without so much as an acknowledgment. After much time, Finally a very sweet worker came up and asked if we've been helped. By this time there were a few more people waiting behind us. We said no and she seemed surprised and explained that the host was busy with something else. I guess it was a big deal. We let her know that we were just wanting a quick cider and she said there could be some seats at the bar for quickest service or we would have about a 20 min wait for a table. So we walk to the bar and no seats. So we just left. I still would like to try their cider and will come again. But it will be a while since we head back to Oregon tomorrow. read more
