This is the front patio with a lot of red picnic tables and umbrellas

What a Gem! So while in W Glacier MT we RVd with family and walked some tarred paths to the nostalgiac W Glacier town and Fredas was amazing! Great craft beer, full bar, great menu with a huge restaurant connected to the bar! A must see and stay for a couple. Vast Patio has umbrellas and corn hole! Just fun!!!

I chose some beer before move forward with my trip and the service was really good. I got some French fries on my way too

    Bison Smashburger with baked beans

Located just outside of the Glacier National Park West Gate, I had a double patty bison Smashburger after a day in the park. The burger was fresh (not previously frozen), significantly lower in fat than a typical beef burger and delicious. My only complaint was that I, and other customers, had to go to the counter to order and pay before the order was placed. When paying, I was presented with one of those "TIP screens" which started at 18% and went into the 20's. I tipped and the order was placed. I was then given a glass and told that I could fill the glass with soda "over there" and get napkins, condiments and plastic forks/spoons/knives "over there." I was given a buzzer that would signal when to return to the counter to get my meal. After the meal, customers were directed to clear the table, placing plastic glasses and baskets in one area and trash in another. I regretted tipping so much when placing my order.

Meh. It's conveniently located outside the west gate so they get the crowds and it feels like that's what they depend on. Bison burger was mediocre at best and I felt overpriced for what I've had at other spots. Huckleberry pie, same experience and they gave it to me cold. I regret giving 18%, which was the lowest option for just taking my order and not even heating the pie. Total tourist trap!

Cute little local restaurant that's right before the Glacier National Park entrance which is nice. There's also has a bar and ice cream shop attached to it. Great for families as well, there's a bunch of outdoor and indoor seating and is pet friendly. It's mostly self serve, you order your food and they give you a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready. I got the BLT and substituted the mayo for the avocado spread. It wasn't bad, I wish they put more of it on and the texas toast was a bit dry but overall not bad. The fries were super yummy though! My husband got the breakfast burger that came with fries which he said was delicious and my stepdaughter got the kids chicken tenders, which were a bit too fried and the mac & cheese as a side which she said was awesome. Drinks are self serve along with condiments. We all split the mountain mint ice cream in a waffle cone which was yummy!

    Elk bratwurst

Freda's is a restaurant, bar, and ice cream shop in one located outside the entrance for Glacier National Park. I got the elk bratwurst and it was okay, but it was too dry. It also cost $16 for just a bratwurst, which is expensive for just that. The service was a bit slow. If you are desperately hungry after being in the park this place is easy to get to. Next time though I would drive down the road a bit and get lunch.

If you want to pay $20 for a bag cesar salad, not enough dressing no parm, wilted lettuce, poorly put together.

The fries here are delicious and so was my burger. It is a bit expensive but that's to be expected for the location I guess.

It was popular, so the line to order was long but went through fairly quick. Food and drinks are different lines. When you get your order in, find a table and the beeper will page you when it's ready. We got burgers, one with fries and with the watermelon. Burgers were delicious. Cooked smashed style, they had nice crispy edges. Watermelon was fresh and juicy. Fries were crispy. Great dinner. While the food is good, the music was even better. It was a solo guitarist who sang classic country. He was great. Many were sending up tips with a request and he did a great job of being able to handle most requests. The outdoor setting was awesome and the stage allowed everyone to see the entertainment. On street parking was easy. Great stop.

Strawberry and Walnut salad - refreshing and tasty. Burnt ends - meh I've had much better. If you're really jonesin for some I guess they're OK. Curry chicken salad pita - it was okay but lacked depth. Definitely overpriced for what you get. Sweet potato fries were definitely worth the upgrade however! Regular fries had an odd aftertaste. Just get the sweet potato upgrade. Caesar and burger I heard were good. The best thing this place has going for it imo is their homemade ranch dressing! Wow very good. Fresh and tasty, everything ranch should be. Tbh very disappointed with this place. It was overly packed with people, had poor signage that YOU HAVE TO ORDER IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RESTAURANT - THEY WILL NOT COME TO YOUR SEAT! Our "waiter" gave us water and cleaned the table but never told us this so we waited 20 min and would have waited another hour if we didn't figure it out. AND you have to order drinks at a separate place outside. My biggest gripe food wise is that the Mac and Cheese looked REALLY good but they don't offer it other than as an entrée. Poor move imo as a restaurant move! Servers were very rude as well. It is cool they have outside live music I must say and the ambiance is cool. Conversely, I do have to say my wife thought this was her favorite food so far in MT for what that's worth. In the future, I'd rather head across the street to North Fork Pizza than risk going back here. The pizza smelled diviiiiine from outside!

How welcoming they were it felt like going to a loved families house and sitting down together for a home made meal. Because that is what it was. Food, I mean, come on! The lamb chops seasoned and cooked to perfect, nice char on the outside with a lite pink on the inside. The Ragu on home made tagliatelle was so beautiful, not to rich like some other you night have had, but able to taste all the flavor in the dish. A special if you can get it they were trying out here was the Chewapchichi (Cevapi), a form of Kofta / Meatball made in Chef Anton's Croatian style. That is not the Meatball that is on the menu in a soft tomato sauce!!! Basically we started with the Shrimp Tostada app and the Clams & Chroizo and just decided to ask for the whole menu for the family. I could go on, but just come see for yourself and enjoy for sure.
