If you're in Kalispell, Montana this is the BBQ place to be at. Their cornbread is more like corn cake that momma used to make. The greens were delicious & brisket was so tender & juicy. The service was very good, attentive. The atmosphere was active, a little loud but not too loud. I could definitely tell it was a locals favorite spot. I would definitely recommend.

Came here with a few friends while we were in Kalispell. This place gets hectic and really busy! Be ready to wait it out but make sure you stick around for your table. We were told it was about an hour wait which almost made us leave but we grabbed some beers and sat on their patio. It took around 45 actual minutes which wasn't too bad. We ordered 2 backed potatoes with brisket, nachos with brisket (nachos can easily feed 2-3) a few orders of corn bread, salmon plate with potato salad and Mac n cheese. Food was good! Brisket was awesome, potatoes were good, cornbread was moist not dry and the butter seemed home made. The decor is interesting, kwirky. This place has a personality of its own. The owner was out there hustling helping around. This place was so good we almost came back twice but there was more to explore. Maybe if we go back to Kalispell for some reason we can give it another visit.

FEEL THE LOVE. Do not skip this spot. Staff were spectacular - shout out to Tammy. Food was far above my expectations. Cozy homestead setting. Truly a welcoming environment. You couldn't ask for anything more. One of the highlights of our trip.

Our first time in Montana and after a long day of traveling food was the first thing on our mind once we got off the plane. I looked for some recommendations online and this was one of the top two to choose from. From the moment we walked in they were so kind and made us feel literally right at home like we were part of their family. They let us try some of the local beers they have on tap and shared some of their favorite recommendations. (Don't forget to try their sweet tea as well it hit the spot!) Their menu had so many options to choose from. No matter what you're craving or if you have food sensitivities you'll find something delicious! My husband had the brisket sandwich with a side of the bacon Mac & Cheese. The meat was so tender just melted in your mouth with such bold flavor. I had the pulled pork baked potato which was loaded with so much yumminess! The whole ambiance inside was such a vibe and that's exactly what I was looking for when searching for a local restaurant to try. If you're searching for hospitality, good beer, and delicious food look no further!

Prime Rib was outstanding! Tender and just right, almost melted in the mouth. Delicious. The Pork Belly Collard Greens was slightly spicy with some sweetness, but just right in taste--very good! Service was fast and the staff friendly, polite, and made us feel very welcome! Plenty of food, be prepared to take it home including a refill of the ice tea.

Hopping little joint that warrants its rave reviews. Don't blink or you might miss it. Visited on a Tuesday evening around 6 and it was pretty full but I was seated quickly at a table fashioned out of a stop sign. The menu had several categories and a variety of options. I choose a Chicken Sandwich with a side of their Cajun Vinaigrette Slaw. The bun was fresh and the chopped smoked chicken was so good I didn't even put any sauce on it. The slaw had just the right amount of kick to it! Can't wait to come back!

Desoto Grill Let me start by stating that I am in no way a Bbq expert or connoisseur. Just a regular guy that likes to eat and knows flavor. The Desoto Grill, in the Big Sky country, Kalispell, Montana. I was recommended this place by locals and took a chance. The exterior looked a bit uninviting, like an old industrial barn or building of some sort. And inside was a bit dark, and reminiscent of a Dive bar. Like this place probably is buzzing for drinkers on weeknights and weekends. Ordered the Beef Brisket Plate, with a side of Their Popular Collard greens w/pork, and potatoe salad. This meal also came with a side of Two pieces of Corn bread and whipped butter. Bonus points. Brisket: little to no Smokey flavor, and not much seasoning. Not as fall apart as Texas style bbq if I can compare. Came out warmish. Not hot. Potato salad: Topped with green onions, seasoned well and delicious Collard Greens: Now this... this was the star of the show. The side... Tangy and Slightly sweet like honey almost. Amazing blend of complimenting flavors and large chunks of pork, yumm. The corn bread was a nice bonus, not crusty but airy and just right. Not hot though I might add. The whipped butter made up for the spreadabilty factor tho. Washed everything down with a delicious local Soda pop made with Huckleberry, which Montana is known for. In summary: for me? When eating bbq, the protein of choice should be the piece that ties everything together. In this case, it was their side that was carrying the team. Can't speak for the rest of the protein options, but for a $30+ plate, Briskets gotta brisket. Bit underwhelming for bbq. Desoto is a great option for a quick lunch , but I wouldn't recommend for "The Bbq Spot".

Go for the great BBQ.... Prepared to be AMAZED by the stellar customer service / patron and staff camaraderie. Just an outstanding experience and worth the wait. For a party of 4, two Combo Platters with 3 Meats and 3 Sides is the way to go. But YOU MUST try the Pork Belly PBJ bites. The ambiance and vibe transports you to something reminiscent of the South. This was our favorite memory of our recent Whitefish Montana trip.

Worth the wait! We were told wait was over an hour but we were eating within 45m Food is delicious and the staff are really great. You can also grab a drink inside while you wait. The place is small when outdoor dining isn't open but it's definitely worth the wait. EVERYTHING we ate was so good.

What went well? Everything! First of all, the venue is very cool! It's filled with rustic/tool shed/saloon vibes. It *feels* like the Wild West. We were greeted by a very nice hostess that was able to seat us right away! Our server was more than accommodating and was timely in all our orders and requests (new napkins, etc). I think I'll need to go back several times this trip so I can try everything in the menu! Literally every item sounded (and smelled) delicious! The kitchen is open in the same room too, so that was neat. Also, they have GF buns for substitution, and they are really good! Everything on the menu is GF (or GF substitutable) The beer selection isn't big, but it's quality - tasty brews from local MT breweries. They have several signature cocktails as well, if that's what you're looking for! Overall a must try if you find yourself in Kalispell!

Second time back but left a little disappointed. Tried the Brisket Cheese Steak Sandwich. The brisket was very fatty, lacked any smoke flavor, and the sandwich as a whole lacked flavor. It could have used a BBQ sauce to kick it up some. Service is good and a nice bar-like feel on the inside but family friendly. I'll be back but won't order that sandwich again.

It was my first time in Montana and many locals suggested this place. I'm glad they did. I warmed up with a nice bowl of chili for a chilly day. The chili, mac and cheese (with jalapeños) and collard greens were delicious.

I see plenty of great reviews for this place, so we decided to try it. I ordered the brisket sandwich with slaw, a side of beans, and added the cornbread, I love cornbread. Well the brisket was disappointing, it was dry and didn't have much of a flavor other than the bbq sauce that was covering it. Not to mention my slightly burned bun, made it all dryer. The beans are very sweet, it threw me off, I thought they would be more savory, I couldn't eat more than a bite. I never got my cornbread, although I saw our waitress, bring "free" cornbread to the table next to us. The cornbread was still on the check, so I had to have them take it off. She was very nice and apologetic about it. We ordered the huckleberry cheese cake to go, we ate it for dessert that night and it was really good. Not too sweet, just right.

    A great little food hall

Trivia: Ceres is known as a dwarf planet but I think the mythological connection makes more sense…read more Who is Ceres in Roman mythology? The live planter in the back is super cool! Really makes the seating area come to life! Ha! The cooler with ginger beer and kombucha had one small flaw: there were no nutrition facts. The baristas/bakers didn't have much to say on the matter. So I didn't get one. Service was friendly. It was fast. Definitely a good spot to duck into as one works their way along the shops on Main Street.

We were looking for a coffee shop to do some remote work/planning together and stumbled upon Ceres!…read moreIt was recommended by a few of my family members as well, so we thought we'd give it a try! When you walk in, fresh smells waft over you and it makes your tummy rumble (at least it did mine). All their baked goods are very fresh and look delicious! My only qualms are with the coffee and atmosphere. Either our coffees were burnt or we just don't like the roast (I got a caramel latte, she got a chai latte). We still drank them because they weren't absolutely disgusting, they just tasted off and not something you'd want to drink regularly. As for the atmosphere, the space was very cute and well laid out - there are plants and paintings throughout to bring color and joy. However, Carolers came in for about 15 minutes.. with brass instruments! I understand "tis the season" and I love the Christmas spirit, but I also don't want a trombone blasting music 10 feet from my table on a lazy Sunday morning... a little disappointed Ceres allowed them to do this, but I also don't want to be a Scrooge... If you want a good cinnamon roll or breakfast sandwich I think this is the spot! But maybe temper expectations for coffee? Might just be me, but also worth a visit if you want. Happy Holidays!
