"Mike just makes the soups; she does everything else", said the waitress. Well Mike, those are some fine soups. Tasted the split pea and carrot ginger soups and I can see why they take so much time. The quiche of the day was solid including the GF crust, which must have been made by Mike's better half. They make a good team.

    Coffee anyone?

The Knead Cafe lives up to the hype and if you don't mind waiting to get a table, you'll be highly satisfied. It's a small place yes, but it's got a rustic and quaint feel to it. The staff was upbeat, energetic and really appeared to be flowing as a team. The food was great, and we were there before 10am and we were able to order from the breakfast and lunch menu. I think the lesson is, you can't and won't go wrong. The portions are not only large and intense, but they do a great job of letting flavors fly and compliment each other. The Sante Fe Hash, the Veggie Breakfast Burrito and Black bean quinoa falafel wrap were all loved. With specialty toast, brilliant soup and a fresh fruit bowl, we couldn't have had happier taste buds and tummies. Highly recommend if you have a chance. Enjoy! *I do see reviews about its location and agreed it's not the most obvious, but it's far from hidden. Keep your eyes peeled or follow your GPS and I promise you'll get there just fine.

The food here is by far the best place we have EVER been to!! Made with appreciation, care, and precision. If you love breakfast, this is your place to go to. The service was excellent! We will make specific trips just to eat here! :)

Probably my favorite breakfast spot in town. Friendly staff and lots of good options on the menu. Got the waffles and they were really good. Came with fresh fruit and a generous portion of bacon on the side. Menu says it is TWO WAFFLES but it was really HALF A WAFFLE with two squares from a waffle make that does 4 squares per waffle! That was really my only complaint. Ordered the "sticky toffee pudding" and it was good but it was more like chocolate cake with a hint of toffee inside. Inside was fun, playing jazz music with various posters of bands and artists from years past. I would come back!

The Knead Cafe at the very end of Main Street Kalispell is a hidden gem! Situated in a nondescript strip mall, and also nondescript itself inside, this cafe has amazing food! And wonderful attentive service as well from my genuinely friendly brunette waitress. $15 Santa Fe Hash...rather than corned beef, they subbed in delicious carnitas mixed with nice potato hash, and added some delightful Spanish flavors of black beans, onions, peppers, chilies, cheese, spices and topped by two eggs....tasty and very filling!

Everything we got was amazing. scone 10/10, homemade bread amazing, so good exceeded expectations!!

We were lucky enough to sit down as soon as we walked in. Great little spot in Kalispell. The Bee Sting coffee was awesome. The Welsh eggs were outstanding. Sorry, no pictures. The service superb. Limited parking in the front. And remember, once you're done eating make sure to give someone else a chance to occupy your table since this is a small but popular place. Glad we found it. Go check them out.

This place totally baffles me with it's close to 5 star ratings. They are located in a older building with several business crowded on top of each other. There's no outdoor seating. We did call to check that they were open because we were driving out of our way to try it out. It was listed as a gluten free option restaurant. The only breakfast item that ended up being listed gluten free was the quiche. They did have gluten free rice tortillas. I decided to order a salad since the server didn't seem too sure about the quiche ingredients. We ended up taking it to go since the atmosphere was stuffy ( no ventilation) My salad was slimy and definitely nothing special. No fun local food options like other places in Montana. Guess I got spoiled at Whitefish and Hungry Horse. See reviews for Dan D lion and Rebel Roots.

Husband and I split the 3 meat plate (although we were tempted by the special-beef ribs on mashed potatoes). We had brisket (good and my favorite), pork ribs (fall off the bone good and tasty), pork belly (hubby said it was good since it isn't my thing). For our sides we had collard greens (we fought over those they were so good), bacon Mac (creamy and smokey), and corn bread (so glad we each had our own serving of that or there would have been bloodshed). That cornbread was the best I have had at a restaurant in ages. Staff were on it. They were personable and friendly. Kitchen staff--wow. It was awesome to watch the magic and teamwork happening in the very small wizard's workshop. Thank you for the great night and the leftovers.

So, I really don't know why people come here. Maybe we got unlucky but let's run it from the start…read more Upon entering, the place does look very cool. It almost feels like you're in a mineshaft or an antique store, which I thought was awesome. We are immediately greeted with a very friendly smile and told there were seats at the bar (the restaurant was packed, another good sign). A few minutes go by and we're still standing at the check-in, and another couple comes in. They are greeted in the same way, offered seats at the bar, and are thusly ushered to their seats... while we were still standing there. Okay, few more minutes go by and we call out the table that was just cleaned, and we get seated. The menu looks phenomenal, and we ended up getting the meat combo to try everything. This is where it gets even worse. The barbecue itself took a while to get to our table, which would be fine if it wasn't cold. Yes, you heard correctly, the barbecue was all cold. Baked beans had to have been Bush's. Potato salad and Mac was good, same with the cornbread. But the main things we paid $60 for were cold. The ribs were beyond burnt, and the brisket was tough. Oh, and the single sausage we got was slathered in mustard and barbecue sauce, come to think of it everything on the plate was slathered in barbecue sauce. Usually not a good sign lol. I really wish I could say nicer things about this place but I unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone. But hey, they're packed so maybe that's just the quality of the food around Kalispell. Trivia: Ceres is known as a dwarf planet but I think the mythological connection makes more sense…read more Who is Ceres in Roman mythology? The live planter in the back is super cool! Really makes the seating area come to life! Ha! The cooler with ginger beer and kombucha had one small flaw: there were no nutrition facts. The baristas/bakers didn't have much to say on the matter. So I didn't get one. Service was friendly. It was fast. Definitely a good spot to duck into as one works their way along the shops on Main Street.

We were looking for a coffee shop to do some remote work/planning together and stumbled upon Ceres!…read moreIt was recommended by a few of my family members as well, so we thought we'd give it a try! When you walk in, fresh smells waft over you and it makes your tummy rumble (at least it did mine). All their baked goods are very fresh and look delicious! My only qualms are with the coffee and atmosphere. Either our coffees were burnt or we just don't like the roast (I got a caramel latte, she got a chai latte). We still drank them because they weren't absolutely disgusting, they just tasted off and not something you'd want to drink regularly. As for the atmosphere, the space was very cute and well laid out - there are plants and paintings throughout to bring color and joy. However, Carolers came in for about 15 minutes.. with brass instruments! I understand "tis the season" and I love the Christmas spirit, but I also don't want a trombone blasting music 10 feet from my table on a lazy Sunday morning... a little disappointed Ceres allowed them to do this, but I also don't want to be a Scrooge... If you want a good cinnamon roll or breakfast sandwich I think this is the spot! But maybe temper expectations for coffee? Might just be me, but also worth a visit if you want. Happy Holidays!
