I came here because I saw the great rating on Yelp. When I walked in, I was able to see myself and the staff was really kind and efficient. They were able to accommodate my "not so easy" coffee order (hot half decaf mocha). My order was the biscuits and gravy with eggs over medium. I did not finish it mainly because the biscuits and gravy were very different than what I've ever experienced. There were veggies in it, and it was a little saltier than I'm used to. I decided to order a kids, waffle to complement the part of the egg that I ate. I demolished it. The kids waffle was delicious although the powdered sugar had a little salt to it. I've never had that before, but I didn't mind it. The vibe is quaint, and you can overhear the staff talking to people and being super kind. We had a 30 minute wait with a few mixups by the hostess, but this place is busy because a great attitude is so good! If you're in a rush to get a full day of activities in, this is not the place to stop. Came in twice during our week visiting Glacier NP. The first time was incredibly lackluster on the food side after seeing the line outside and the great reviews of the place. Several people on the waiting list left because service was taking so long, which I understand. The Knead Cafe lives up to the hype and if you don't mind waiting to get a table, you'll be highly satisfied. It's a small place yes, but it's got a rustic and quaint feel to it. The staff was upbeat, energetic and really appeared to be flowing as a team. The food was great, and we were there before 10am and we were able to order from the breakfast and lunch menu. I think the lesson is, you can't and won't go wrong. The portions are not only large and intense, but they do a great job of letting flavors fly and compliment each other. The Sante Fe Hash, the Veggie Breakfast Burrito and Black bean quinoa falafel wrap were all loved. What a lucky find! The food was delicious (one of the best Greek salad I've had, with tofu- ) I fully enjoyed it. My husband ordered eggs and ham and said they were perfectly done. Probably my favorite breakfast spot in town. Friendly staff and lots of good options on the menu. Got the waffles and they were really good. Came with fresh fruit and a generous portion of bacon on the side. Menu says it is TWO WAFFLES but it was really HALF A WAFFLE with two squares from a waffle make that does 4 squares per waffle! That was really my only complaint. Ordered the "sticky toffee pudding" and it was good but it was more like chocolate cake with a hint of toffee inside. This place totally baffles me with it's close to 5 star ratings. They are located in a older building with several business crowded on top of each other. There's no outdoor seating. We did call to check that they were open because we were driving out of our way to try it out. It was listed as a gluten free option restaurant. The only breakfast item that ended up being listed gluten free was the quiche. They did have gluten free rice tortillas. I decided to order a salad since the server didn't seem too sure about the quiche ingredients. We ended up taking it to go since the atmosphere was stuffy ( no ventilation) My salad was slimy and definitely nothing special. No fun local food options like other places in Montana. We passed through Kalispell on our way to Missoula, and stopped for lunch at The Knead Cafe. There was a bit of a wait when we arrived (around 11:35 A.M. on a Thursday), and you basically just wait for a table to open and then grab it, but it didn't take long to get a table (maybe 30 minutes). Our server was very pleasant and helpful. We tried the carnitas burrito, a carnitas burrito in a bowl too, tomato basil soup, curry coconut chicken soup, the Albuquerque Turkey sandwich, and the strawberry rhubarb crepes. Everything was delicious, and the servings were large. The place was packed, and I spoke with a local who told me this is his favorite place to eat in town. The only downside we experienced was a lack of attentiveness by our server after we received our food. We had trouble getting more water and hot sauce, but otherwise, we had a great experience. I would give The Knead Cafe a 4.5 out of 5 (if you could give a 4.5). read more
