We stopped by Namaste Montana for their weekend lunch buffet around 2 PM and were pleasantly surprised that there was still a good selection of food available. The buffet was well stocked, with a nice variety of chicken, shrimp, and vegetarian dishes, along with salad, naan, rice and desserts. Overall, the flavors were enjoyable and well-seasoned. The only downside was that the chicken was a bit dry, though still flavorful. One nice touch is that beverages are included with the buffet. We ordered a mango lassi and masala chai, and both were absolutely delicious --definitely highlights of the meal. The dessert selection included carrot pudding and ras gulla (pillowy, spongy balls soaked in syrup), fruit salad and 2 other unlabeled square bars. While they appeared authentic, they were a little too sweet for our taste or lack of flavor so we weren't as excited about that part of the buffet. The staff was friendly and welcoming, and the atmosphere was comfortable. We also appreciated how the buffet was set up and maintained. The flavors were great, bolder than I expected., the variety of dishes on offer makes it so it never gets boring. This is one of 3 really great Indian places in the whitefish/kalispell area and I was so surprised to find even one authentic Indian restaurant. (And ive been to India 4 times, so I have some cred.) Here,the samosas were notably excellent (I know,basic, but whatever when it's good, mmmm). The chicken Rogan Josh was really flavorful and well-spiiced. I liked this place very much. First the atmosphere was perfect with a screen playing Bollywood music and greeted with enthusiasm. I had the shrimp biryani and tandoori chicken. The shrimp in the biryani were large and delicious. Tandoori chicken was also very tasteful with the yogurt dipping sauce. This is very flavorful and spiced meal and the portions were very large. Oof so spicy! What I got a couple of items! Gobi Manchurian - It was good, not the best. I think it was in Medium Spicy (which was very spicy to me), The batter was good and the cauliflower was crunchy (almost like chicken?). Truffle Dosa - I tasted the truffle oil fragrant in the dosa which was quite different that's why I got it. Though I feel the dipping sauces and the Indian spices drowns the truffle. Great concept though, but very conflicting on what I want - truffle fragrant or the Indian spices! Lamb Biryani - This was very spicy as well (though he suggested medium...I need baby spicy) - I thought the rice was good, but felt the meat was not fresh. Overall it was ok Environment This was located in the plaza on the end, close to the Homewood Suites. There is plenty of parking available, so not hard to find. The inside was pretty big, there is plenty of seating available from tables and also booths. Niceness of the staff SUPER SUPER nice staff! I was able to pick the seat (maybe it wasn't busy) and also the guy taking my order had patience. Dollar I thought was decently priced. Delicious Indian food. We visited Namaste Montana on a Wednesday night, and it was busy but there were tables available. The restaurant has three large televisions and an open seating area with scuffed tables and chairs. Indian music played during the course of our visit. We split the vegetarian samosa and masala dosa as starters, I ordered the goa veg curry as my main, and we also ordered an order of garlic naan. The vegetarian samosa was served piping hot and was as good as any that I have tried. The masala dosa had a good set of flavors and was paired with tasty sauces. The goa veg curry was delicious with a lovely blend of flavors. The garlic naan was as good as any that I have sampled. My one critique was that they didn't trust our desire for spicier food, and all of our dishes were light on the spice. Overall, I had a lovely experience at Namaste Montana and would recommend them for Indian food in Kalispell. read more

They've finally debuted the weekend lunch buffet! We love Indian and also love buffets, so we were excited to try this. They offer a nice variety of options. Some dishes have more heat than others. The sauce flavors are good. However, the meats are bland and overcooked. The rice is crunchy. The naan bread was dried out, and they didn't replenish it when it was empty. I don't know about you, but I like a little nibble of tasty, warm naan with my food. Their salad is a worthless pile of veggies. Dessert gulag jamun is good, carrot pudding isn't to my taste. We had to wait a while for our waters and they didn't get refilled. For the price, I don't think I'll be back. read more

Was pleasantly surprised to find this nice and new Indian eatery in Kalispell and this made my trip to the glacier national park awesome! We had a delicious brunch here on our way to the park and packed a lot of food for us to enjoy in the park and we again ate dinner and brunch on our way back from the park. What we loved the most: masala dosa was very good, chicken lollipops were juicy, spicy, finger licking delicious, rasmalai was the best rasmalai I have ever had in US, very authentic! and tandoori rotis were sooooo good, so authentic ! dal tadka was yummm (came with rice), chai, coffee (Bru, indian style) really refreshing and tasty. What could be better: Pani puri (khatta meetha pani could have been better), rose lassi (thin and lacking sourness of yogurt, tasted more like rose milk), Chicken biryani and dhaba chicken didn't quiet do it for us. Dhaba chicken seemed to have a coconut based gravy which was very different from my expectation and chicken biryani could have used more spices. Service was good, we got all our food served pretty quick, and the servers were very attentive and friendly and also packed our to go food really well for our long trip. Gave me an extra rasmalai as well .. I was sooo happy because I really loved it. Short version: Americanized, watered down flavors, small portions, and high prices. Full version: I'm very excited whenever I get the chance to try new Indian restaurants. I'm a native Montanan, but I lived abroad in India for a short time, and my wife is also from India. I would really like to give a great review and had high hopes. But our experience tonight was disappointing. First, the prices are pretty high for Kalispell. Approximately $20 a plate or more for most things. That's fine, as long as the food is good and portions are large. Unfortunately, the food was pretty Americanized. The spices were watered down, things were overly creamy, and--a sure sign that things aren't authentic--everything was sweet. (This isn't supposed to be Thai curry, right?) The staff seemed very concerned about the spice level. Trust me, there's nothing to worry about here--it was not spicy at all (and we asked for spicy). The waitstaff also convinced me to go for goat (for an extra $2). I'm aware that Indians often serve goat meat with bones. But my meal was 1/3 bones. My wife also was served a very small amount of rice. Lastly, the atmosphere wasn't wonderful. They had a huge TV showing a sensually dressed DJ, and the techno music just really didn't fit the experience or the cuisine. (I wouldn't want my kids watching what was on that screen.) If you like food that is more Americanized, you may think this place is great. I do hope they succeed. But I feel they have a lot of work to do. Make it Indian. Make the portion sizes right. Make the atmosphere match. Make it worth the high prices. read more

The food is absolutely amazing! The service is great. The employees are so kind, as well. They have a lot of dairy-free options, which is wonderful! You can adjust the heat level to your liking. I find a 2.5 to be perfect. If you haven't been here yet, might I suggest it as a great date night? Since it's across the parking lot from the movie theaters, dinner and a movie! I recommend the Dal Fry and the roti. So delicious. Their roti is the best I've ever had. The Hubster really likes the shrimp dishes. Their buffet should be ready to go soon. We have been dying for good Indian food since we moved here 8 years ago. Namaste is that place. Every spice, every flavor note was spot on. It has some of the challenges of a new restaurant, but with a wee bit of patience you will have one of if not the best meal to be found in the valley. This is certainly a will return over and over. Wonderful addition to Flathead Valley! I've eaten Indian food all over the world and found Namaste to be one of the best. To be honest, I was surprised -- we don't often get world class dining in the Valley -- but this place was fantastic. A very large menu, encompassing cuisine from all parts of India (for example dosas from South India, momos from Assam, and Indian street food like pani puri (delicious by the way) which I've only seen in London). We had the pani puri, the Tandoori Lamb Chops (served with a subtle and delicious sauce with a seasoned rice / spinach), and Dhaba Chicken (new to me with an interesting mix of spices and the tenderest chicken). The sauces were all flavorful, different, and perfectly spiced. We also split a Gulab Jamun and had to (politely) fight a bit over the last bite. Should have had two. Also loved the chai -- nice and sweet and flavorful -- pretty different from what you get at Starbucks My only regret is that I can't eat enough in one sitting to try everything I wanted to try. Me and wife have been to this place a few times now, I know what their hot Is and I love hot, been a good experience for the most part, but we wont be back after this experience, and it really wasn't the food, its what transpired after receiving our order and the owners actions. I ordered a hot menu item number 5 hot level. My wife orded number 2 that wasn't marked on the hot menu by their little insignia. There was no difference, our appetizer was actually way hotter. Anyways, upon telling the young high school kid server about the situation, he was great service by the way and thank you fine young man, he had to walk up to the front where the owner sat on a stool, watching everyone and consult him on the situation. The poor kid had to come back and explain the situation or at least try too. The owner even sent over another indian employee that we couldn't even understand, I guess a 5 isn't hotter than a number 2, even if its marked as your hottest dish on the menu? They ended up offering a complintary costco piece of chocolate cake. Don't care, wont be back, give me what I orderd period. I dont care to go to resturaunt in 2026 and have the same feeling I had going into the cheeseball car dealerships of the 90's where the servers have to run up to the master and make a deal! After reading all of the exceptional reviews, I was so excited to eat here. I have been so pleasantly surprised by many of these establishments. Sadly, it seemed that at least for us and the parties to the tables on either side of us, they just couldn't seem to take the time to get our food. For me, all started out okay and they were fully polite the entire time. We got there and they weren't very busy and got ordered relatively quickly. Appetizer (a street food) came out relatively quickly but then after that it seemed to take white awhile. One of us had ordered a 4 and 1? Was 4 pieces of flatbread with varying toppings.l, while the other ordered a lamb chop and rice meal. We also got the bread basket to share as well. The 4 and 1 came out first. We had to catch their attention after awhile as we weren't sure if this was the bread "basket" or the one meal since nothing else was coming out. But we wanted to save the bread basket for our full meals as well. Finally got someone (the staff running around prepping tables and filling water etc couldn't speak English so had to get the right people. After getting that first dish e sat waiting to eat at the same time .....about 30 to 45 minutes ... Wondering what the heck was going on. Finally as the manager? Looked over and gave a concerned/questioning look, asking if everything was okay. (We hadn't touched the one dish yet) Explained that were still waiting for the bread basket and my food. He said that it would be right out, then looked at his computer and I'm pretty sure realized either it hadn't been out in or just was never made. So we had to wait a short while longer for the rest of the food to come out. Once out, i will say it was exceptionally good. But even after that in trying to get refills on our water and then the bill at the end, we had so much waiting. Granted they did start getting busier but still seemed to have time to stand it be somewhere in the back, but we couldn't get their attention. Sadly it wasn't just us. Couple next to us ordered food that came with weird "extra"s. One was supposed to have a few meats but they added shrimp as an extra "for free" they said. He explained that he didn't want shrimp. The menu didn't show shrimp. Imagine having an allergy? That could have been bad. Also seems there was something else they'd gotten that had an extra ingredient as well but I can't remember what it was. I do remember it was quite the conversation with them and the manager as to whether they even had the right food (which also took awhile for them to get). Other side of us at the other table, this elderly couple got completely forgotten after their water for about a half hour. Waiting to order, nobody even checked on them. Plenty of staff was there so I'm not sure what happened but with all of the amazing similar food popping up around town, I may try it again as there's plenty that sounds good but if I have another experience like this one and it wasn't some fluke of the day, I'll be back on here to update. read more

Greeted at door, Clothe table clothes & napkins , a chef who cares and listens to opinions make this my new favorite restaurant in the Flathead. The eggplant was roasted, (could taste the roasted flavor), before being turned into a delicious Baigen Bharti. Mild spice was perfect for us as we upped it with a side of Ahcha (spelling?). The chutneys were very good as we started with those with the papadan. The Nan was exceptional as baked in a tandoori oven. We also enjoyed the chai which, as in India, is continuously brewed, adding milk, tea & spices as needed. Our long wait for an Indian restaurant is over. It was the only thing these Montana residents & travelers were missing in Montana and are grateful it has arrived. read more

A Hidden Gem Worth Supporting Tried this new spot in Kalispell and was so pleasantly surprised. I've seen a few people grumble about the prices, but honestly... have they been out to eat lately? Even fast food is creeping past $15-$20 these days. For what you get here--fresh, authentic food, generous portions, and actual service--it's more than fair. The space is really comfortable too--bright, clean, and full of natural light. The kind of place you actually want to sit and enjoy a meal, not just rush in and out. As someone who's vegan, it's usually slim pickings in town. But the staff here was incredibly kind, professional, and super accommodating. They didn't make it feel like a big deal, just genuinely wanted me to enjoy the meal--and I did. I've spent time in India, and honestly, the food here was just as good as what I had there. That kind of flavor and care is rare anywhere--let alone in a small town like Kalispell. You can tell they care. It's the kind of place that brings a bit of the world to Kalispell, and I love that. We need more spots like this--local, thoughtful, and actually trying to offer something different. I don't live here full-time, but I'll definitely be back whenever I'm around.
