Visiting from California for my niece's wedding, we were looking for a cozy breakfast spot and were so glad we found Sunrise Cafe! The menu had exactly what we were craving, and our server, Sarah, was friendly, attentive, and made sure everything was perfect. I had the French toast, which was delicious, and my mom ordered a buttermilk pancake. As a pancake lover, I had to try a bite--and it was perfectly fluffy! We had a really disappointing experience here, mainly due to how we were treated by the host. When we arrived, we weren't greeted and were passed multiple times before being acknowledged. When the host finally spoke to us, there was no real greeting--just "table for two?" followed by a quoted 20-minute wait. He didn't make eye contact, seemed distracted, and even had to ask for our name more than once because he wasn't paying attention. We were told to wait outside like others, which was fine, but the 20-minute wait turned into about an hour. During that time, we noticed multiple groups who arrived after us being seated before us. No one came out to call our name like they were doing for others. When we went back inside to check, my boyfriend was brushed off and told to wait again while the host seated another group that had just arrived. He said he felt like he was being treated as impatient just for asking about the wait. At that point, we were ready to leave, but suddenly we were seated. The lack of organization, communication, and basic courtesy made the experience feel very unprofessional. We understand restaurants get busy, but guests should still be treated with respect and fairness. read more

Went for a quick breakfast. Was greeted and seated quickly, ordered coffee. No coffee. A different server asked if I wanted coffee. Yes. But didn't get the coffee. Finally got the coffee and ordered. Ate here twice for breakfast while in town. We had Sonia as our server both times and we were so glad because she did such an amazing job the first time and is so friendly. I had the eggs Benedict both times with a side pancake. The first day our food came out really quick and was really great. The second day was a Saturday morning so they were really busy and had some newer cooks so we waited a while for our food, but it wasn't a big deal since we weren't in a big rush. My second Benedict wasn't as good as the first as the eggs were overcooked and the egg yolks were hard, but I didn't complain since they were so busy and the cooks were new. Everything else was perfect. Overall I really liked this place and fully intend on returning next year when I'm back in town for vacation. read more

Everything went well the waitress was so friendly and fast and the restroom was SPOTLESS every thing was hands free even the trash can you just wave your hand and it opens. The food was outstanding I had the oatmeal it was large wit brown sugar grapes cream on the side. My wife had a Chicken salad on a croissant. Pretty underwhelming experience, just went to try it for the first time. The service was very sub par, they came to the table 3 times... when they sat us, when we ordered, and when our food was done. Never asked about refills or anything. The food was fine, but by the time they brought it to us it wasn't very warm for some reason. But the restaurant is very nicely set up and has a fun vibe. If you think about going to a cafe at all, I personally recommend Sykes, very good food, and amazing service!!! read more

Food was good, the server was kind and accommodating. However the food service was extremely slow! I had 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns and one pancake. It took me close to an hour to receive it, and then some for the pancake. My pancake took about 10 more minutes to come after the rest of my food. I understand it is a Sunday but waiting almost an hour for that in my opinion is absolutely ridiculous, especially longer for a single pancake. It's only been open a few months so they are still ironing out the kinks. I used to love Bojangles so I had to give this new spot a try. They did a beautiful job with the remodel. Sat at the counter. Service was really fast and super friendly. Food came out luke warm so they heated it up in the microwave. I ordered the brisket Benedict. I was expecting a nice like pile of shredded brisket on each half of English muffin but it was literally a tiny shaved sliver of brisket. The hash browns were ok, eggs were perfectly poached but the Hollandaise was a weird thick consistency and had no lemon flavor to brighten it up so it was just overly rich. Overall it was way overpriced ($16.95) for that price I'd like some brisket on the brisket Benedict and I'll definitely order something else next time. read more

This was my third time at this restaurant and it was not the best. The food was okay, my "over easy" eggs were more medium hard. We were seated right away, with water, eating utensils and a menu. After ordering we waited almost 45 minutes for our cold food to be placed in front of us. I asked our waitress , Sonia, who took the order and never looked back, why the delay. Apparently new and inexperienced cooks in the kitchen, but why were we not informed before this? She walked around, took other patrons orders and even stopped to talk with them? We were not invisible but we couldn't even get more water from her, another waitress brought us some. ? ? We should not have had to ask for an update! read more

I visited on a Saturday. Late morning around 11:00. The atmosphere was great with lots of natural light, inviting decor, and beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and hills. However, the kitchen and wait staff were extremely slow, forgetful, and incompetent in general. The smells coming from the overwhelmed kitchen were filled with old grease and burnt food. The wait staff sat multiple groups of three or more all at the same time. This just compounded the problems in the kitchen, forcing them even further behind. Our order, when it finally arrived, was an illogical combination of overdone and undercooked food. All of it under seasoned and basically flavorless. The restroom facilities are under sized for the guest capacity. Accommodating one person at a time, which caused a line to form next to the tables and congestion in the staff access to the kitchen and counter. Would not recommend, unless you can show up around opening on a weekday. read more
