Nice little spot walking distance from the Red Lion. There was a fun energy about the place. They were playing trivia when I arrived & had a great hair band play list as some of their questions. It was clean with plenty of seating in the place & at the bar. It was a young crew & they were very friendly & attentive. I had the spicy chicken sandwich with fries & it was served hot & delicious. I was excited to try Sunrift, really. But whoo boy, it did not deliver. We came in through the backside, which I hate as an option because it feels like you snuck in and the staff don't see you waiting and it's just awkward. Speaking of staff, not the friendliest bunch; not outright mean or anything, but it wasn't warm service and my party had just visited another tap room on the way over and those folks made us feel right at home. Not so at Sunrift, though. The beer is just okay. Nothing to really write home about by any means. The Chislic was good--though it wasn't much of a garlic butter sauce so much as a bunch of chopped garlic with a bit of butter. Excellent cook on the beef though. The real sticker though? This is a place with really pro-LEO vibes and if for whatever reason that isn't your cup of tea and you wish you'd read that somewhere beforehand? Now you know. I wish I had--it would've influenced my decision to spend my money here. I'm not a local and I can't imagine I'll find myself back at Sunrift, but maybe it's for you? read more

Must have came on an off night because the reviews looked great. Our experience was the complete opposite. Sat at the bar, several servers walked by but apparently not our server. She finally came and gave us menus and piss warm beers. Then she was gone for 20 min or more. Other servers asked if we ordered yet....no...oh, who is your server? Nothing. She walked by a few times could not get her to stop or acknowledge us. A guy sat next to me, she came back to help him. Oh did you want to put in an order...no I probably shouldn't. Street tacos. Meat had zero flavor. No cheese, no cilantro, no onion. The coleslaw people rave about was just plain cabbage, nothing on it. Send it back as the waitress said ya its awful. This location has lots of parking options. There is a small lot in front, mall parking or the bigger lot across the street. The service is really good. You do go up to the bar to order drinks or food but they will deliver the food to your table. We didn't wait long for our food to arrive. They were super friendly and patient as my friend sampled a few different beers before selecting one. There is a covered patio and non covered patio options as well as indoor seating. Good Beer, Good Food, Good People, Good Ambience. Visit #1: I only tried the stout, but it was good! Great on a cold Winter day! Unfortunately I was supposed to meet my friends at Bias Brewing, so I stopped there...luckily the waitress forgave me with a smile. Visit #2: Came in for a quick lunch before my flight...the $14 Tri Tip sandwich is AWESOME! I paid the extra $5 to double the meat, and it was the best financial decision I made this year! The tri tip cuts were thick, meaty, juicy, delightfully seasoned, and cooked perfectly, so tender! The creamy mac n cheese made for a perfect fatty side dish. Nice place for lunch with good beer and good food. I had the Kalispell Cow Tipper with fries and the husband had the 'Billy' cheese steak w/ fries. The fries were wonderful, perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside with the right amount of salt. Both sandwiches were good and flavorful. I did find myself stealing some of the pub cheese from my husband's plate (very tasty). For beer, husband had the Go get two creme ale (so sweet and creamy) and I had the Sundown Honey Brown which was very caramel like and nutty. Both smooth drinking beers. read more

Neat place with good beer and food. My wife enjoyed the Soul Gravy Stout from the restaurant, while I went next door for the Sun Down Honey Brown. We both had the tri tip steak sandwich. Mine with Mac and cheese, while my wife had fries. My server was kind and served at a great speed. The chili was delicious, but the biscuits came after my chili. Wings were okay, they are smoked and then deep fried. We didn't realize that we needed to have ordered a sauce or glaze on the wings. The people around me and my family were not very loud, and the look of the place was homey. I've eaten here a number of times and never been super impressed. Foods usually alright and beer is mediocre at best. Last night their special was pork enchiladas that I ordered and was disappointed. Flavor was ok, but they were clearly microwaved. Shells were so tough you couldn't cut them and cheese was microwave melted solid. You know what I mean. Our last afternoon in Kalispell and we stopped in at Sunrift for lunch before getting on the road. This makes brewery #243 for me! Great patio area and the weather was perfect so we sat outside. Plenty of seating inside as well. It wasn't busy but seemed like it was starting to pick up. Of course it was only 12pm on a Saturday. I got a flight of four while SWPFTD went with a pint of the Sundown Honey Brown ale. I'm not generally a big fan of spicy beers but I ordered the mango habanero to give it a try. I wouldn't order a pint myself but the heat was not overpowering. It did stick around on the tongue but not terribly so, and the mango provided some balance. Hefty Nuts is a coconut Hefeweizen with a huge bold coconut aroma and flavor. Don't like coconut? Don't order this beer! I like coconut and enjoyed this one. Sunrift IPA is a good one. Great hop aroma and flavor with a little bitterness. The Sundown Honey Brown was really good. SWPFTD enjoyed it and so did I. Last up was Sol-Gravy Stout. Very good stout overall. Chocolate for sure but just a nice beer. I went with a half pint of Hefty Nuts with my tri tip sandwich. I mean who doesn't like hefty nuts? The tri tip was good but a little dry. It was served with a beer gravy, which was also good but a little aus jus would have worked better for me. I went with ketchup since I had onion rings as well, which were just about perfect. Sunrift Brewing was a good choice. Service was great, food was good, and the beers were solid. We were initially confused walking up to the buildings as to which one to go to-- we saw people with beers at the restaurant (larger building) and moseyed up there. Awkwardly waited as 3 employees kept bypassing us until someone finally seated us. The restaurant does serve flights and food. The hostess mentioned the many (more than 3) beverages they were out of-- luckily, they have a seasonal and regular beer menu. The beers were good, disappointed in the lack of sours in the area.
