So, I really don't know why people come here. Maybe we got unlucky but let's run it from the start…read more Upon entering, the place does look very cool. It almost feels like you're in a mineshaft or an antique store, which I thought was awesome. We are immediately greeted with a very friendly smile and told there were seats at the bar (the restaurant was packed, another good sign). A few minutes go by and we're still standing at the check-in, and another couple comes in. They are greeted in the same way, offered seats at the bar, and are thusly ushered to their seats... while we were still standing there. Okay, few more minutes go by and we call out the table that was just cleaned, and we get seated. The menu looks phenomenal, and we ended up getting the meat combo to try everything. This is where it gets even worse. The barbecue itself took a while to get to our table, which would be fine if it wasn't cold. Yes, you heard correctly, the barbecue was all cold. Baked beans had to have been Bush's. Potato salad and Mac was good, same with the cornbread. But the main things we paid $60 for were cold. The ribs were beyond burnt, and the brisket was tough. Oh, and the single sausage we got was slathered in mustard and barbecue sauce, come to think of it everything on the plate was slathered in barbecue sauce. Usually not a good sign lol. I really wish I could say nicer things about this place but I unfortunately cannot recommend it to anyone. But hey, they're packed so maybe that's just the quality of the food around Kalispell. Space is clean, well lit and staff was super friendly.....I'm talking restaurant quality service. I got a basic cheeseburger meal and it was exactly the simple yet quality burger I was looking for. The place was basically empty with maybe 2 families. I decided on getting a burger and dr pepper. Then I went to order my food and the service was good. I then went to the soda fountain to get dr pepper and then I looked over and saw there was vanilla creamer. And if you know me I love dirty soda so of course I put the vanilla creamer in the dr pepper and it was good. Then I sat down and waited and after 2 minutes the food got there. I then took a bite of my burger and if I'm going to be honest the buns tasted dryer than the Sahara desert. But besides that the food was good. I then had to go to the bathroom and I saw their rewards on the wall on the way there. The bathrooms were nice I guess. Also the vibes of the restaurant were actually really good for a American fast food place with the pink, blue, and white. Overall good burger place

The dining area is fairly large and comfortable. Feels very old school but also happened to have someone playing the piano with some classic western ish vibes if you know what I mean that really gave this more charm. Food is very generous and definitely recommend splitting the prospectors breakfast. Chicken fried steak, a monster biscuit, hash browns and two eggs with gravy is a lot to take down. Even if you were to do a long after, not sure you can burn off this many calories. Chicken fried steak is good - thin and crisp but with a breadcrumb like crust instead of the floured stuff I'm used to getting down south. Sausage gravy is flavorful and a classic pairing but you can also opt for brown gravy instead. The biscuit is moist and a good utensil to soak up the gravy. Eggs and hash browns needed seasoning - there's no salt on it so add it yourself but the griddled crisp on the hash browns were good. Some of my friends got the home fries but noted they weren't that great so stick with the hash. Accessible parking downtown and a good stop to fuel up!
