Bulldog Saloon was recommended on Yelp, so we made it our first stop in Whitefish during our Glacier vacation. Unfortunately, it was disappointing. It was a busy Friday night, and there was only one bartender working behind the counter. It took a very long time to get our first beer, and then just as long to get a second. Of course the bartender had plenty of time to do shots - with other servers who didn't seem to be able to help with any bar service. The food was fine, but nothing memorable. The positives were the fun decor and the fact that they serve Cold Smoke beer, although we quickly learned that most places in the area do too. read more

Ah yes, the Ole Bulldog Saloon... The magical place where anyone/everyone can mingle, coexist, and drink a cold MT craft beer. No stop to WF is complete without a stopping into "The Dawg" for huckleberry wings, burger and fries, and MT proper beers... Always good, always reliable, and always a great time after being on the mountain all day. PS - If you're easily offended (or an easily triggered lib) avoid the restrooms. read more

DO NOT GO, advertised as family friendly, waiter pointed my 11y/o son to the boys bathroom with naked women all over the walls, the warning sign was too high up for anyone to read if they are short and it tells people that if they can't handle that then go to the women restroom. read more

Awesome spot with great burgers and a lot of history! The food is good - typical burgers and fries (with the cheese curds and huckleberry sauce being my favorite) but what made this a 5 star review was the incredibly friendly staff and historic vibes you can feel as you walk into the restaurant. With pictures and pennants covering the walls and ceilings dating back to the early 1900's this is definitely a cool spot to stop in for a drink or bite. read more

Might be self service but that doesn't take away from our experience. The burgers are easily some of the best I have had anywhere! Give the sour cream and chives fries. They were delicious. Limited menu but done so right. Place had a great relaxed vibe. Will definitely be back when in the area again. read more

The bar has a cool vibe. However, their food was okay. We ordered the onion rings, two chicken tenders, and a side salad. The onions were awesome. Wellllp this is the best place in town hands down. GREAT bar food. Casino games. And friendly service. College flags on the roof from all over the US. Great ambiance. This place is a must stop went you go to Whitefish. The burgers are fantastic. The beers are cold. The place is just fun.

The biggest mistake we made on our trip to Kalispell was wandering into this restaurant. We were hungry for lunch and noticed a lot of people filing in so we thought we'd check it out. The environment is loud. Both in noise and decor. It was a Sunday, so there was quite the crowd inside watching football, but I have a feeling it's always a louder environment regardless. There is a sign on the bathroom door warning you of where to take your children, so they don't witness the adult X rated content plastered around the stalls and in the men's restroom. Totally fine for some, just not the vibe for us. The food was way too expensive for what it was worth. It was your basic, fried, tasteless bar food. Nothing impressive but not disgusting either. We just left disappointed and desperately wishing we had spent the money and our time eating elsewhere. read more

Saw the Huckleberry wings on the menu outside and decided to stop in to try them. We had some kids with us and saw what we thought were arcade games in the back, but were surprised to see casino games. They are kid friendly enough, and give fair warnings where it may not be. Great sports bar vibe with all of the pennants on the ceiling and other memorabilia. Good beer menu and full bar. Solid food menu as well. The huckleberry wings were pretty good, though could have used more sauce and they were a bit overcooked. Nice and crispy though. The Chicken ortega sandwich we got also was dry and overcooked, but really good flavor. Cheese curds were an absolute hit with the kids. Overall a pretty solid sports bar, I'd come back for sure but probably stick with normal wings and burgers. read more

The almond chicken salad was fresh and flavorful. Love the homemade ranch and the fact that they have cottage cheese as a side option for all the high-protein girlies. I also tried the cheeseburger, and it was everything a classic saloon burger should be. Love the sports vibe and yes, it's always crowded and there is a wait so you know what to expect! read more

Went here for a quick lunch and beer, it's pretty cool and definitely dedicated to local love which is awesome I probably wouldn't eat here again for lunch and a beer type deal. The wings we ordered were petrified (2 separate orders), and the other Ortega and cheeseburger sandwiches were just OK, they would suffice if you came here and were drinking pitchers and needed a snack. I understand it's a dive bar but the staff where you order food he was the biggest pos server I've ever met . Food was a joke ordered sour cream and chive fries , it's like they heated up some grocery store fries and gave me a cup of ranch , how they get sour cream and chive from that I have no clue . I checked this spot out for lunch on a Sunday. I ordered a jalapeño burger and sudden death wings. The wings were good, but the sauce wasn't very hot and tasted more like taco seasoning. The burger was pretty good with fresh ingredients. The fries were good too. This place is a dive bar for sure, which add to the experience. When I went to order the guy working rudely stated. You'll have to wait!. I have to get orders out. I totally get your busy but there are better ways of handling it. Decent burgers. The kitchen is small so wait times can get a little lengthy depending on how busy it is. The bartenders are friendly and it is a decent enough place to wait for your food. It's very narrow so if you have weird phobia about that be prepared. read more

Fun vibe, decent food, spotty service, and fun to visit once. Order system sucks. Stand in one line to order drinks and pay. Then go stand in another line to order food and pay. Drinks were made on the spot but wings took 45 minutes to come out at 6pm on a Thursday with maybe 15 other people in the place. Huckleberry wings were pretty good but over-cooked. Flavors were alright but very sweet, like wings coated in huckleberry pancake syrup with a spicy element mixed in. Still, they did in fact hit the spot. Fries are solid. Atmosphere is fun and I dare-say 80% of the reason people come here. Lots of time and meth went into decorating every inch of the walls with pictures of bulldogs, and yes, in the bathrooms many nude images of the opposite sex. I'll post a pic from the men's room with the nipples covered up and see if Yelp takes it down. Anyway, a pretty fun place and not a bad start or end to a night of carousing downtown Whitefish, but honestly not a destination visit or a place I'd dying to go again. read more

Funky little saloon, lots to see inside. Pictures, sports team pennants and the bathrooms are plastered with eye appealing photos. Disappointed with having to go up to order your food at the kitchen and than having to order your drinks at the bar. The lack of service; no one checking on your food, no one to clean your table from dishes. You have to grab your own utensils, condiments, napkins etc. Awkward having to squish through people at the bar to get a drink. Of course when you pay that tip option comes up. Food was good. I had the mushroom burger with chips and I got a mushroom burger with bag of chips. It was good burger no complaints there. We would have stayed longer and had more drinks if we were being tended to. Warning : this restaurant is NOT family-friendly. After ordering our food, my daughters needed to use the restroom. The restroom is covered in inappropriate pictures including sexually suggestive photos throughout the bathroom and pornographic images in one of the stalls. Needless to say, it was traumatizing for my 6yo and 8yo daughters. We would have left immediately, but we already ordered so we waited for our food. As we waited, I noticed the wall next to our table in the restaurant had two photos of topless women! Unbelievable and unnecessary.
