This burger place has more than burgers. Chicken sandwich was excellent ! Pizza- excellent ! Everything is super tasty. Around Whitefish the prices are high and Mudman's prices are in line or lower than a lot of eateries and you get a great portion and wow- the flavor ! You get a good sized portion and you go home full. On the drive home we couldn't stop saying how good that was. The Owner was cooking the day we ate there and this guy is motivated to provide the best service and food around. Nice outdoor patio and it was not crowded like downtown is. What a wonderful burger I had. Located on the way to Whitefish Lake and Big Mountain, just outside of the center of town, in a little old White House. They have an additional kitchen in the back. Plus between the buildings, is a charming little space to eat outside. They didn't trip when I asked for lettuce wrapped-best one ever btw. The fries are hand cut with the skin on. We had a family "mini" vacation in Whitefish this week, and chose Mudman Burgers for dinner last night so we didn't have to cook. We ordered it to go as there were 11 of us in our party, which can make seating all of us together a bit tough. We all ordered burgers and added 3 large fries to the order. Some had the burgers with mud, a few did not. Almost everyone enjoyed their burgers, I didn't really enjoy the mud so I didn't much care for the burger. What ruined the meal were the fries. They were hard, dry, and overcooked. So disappointing! We couldn't eat them and threw them away. It was a disappointing end to an otherwise wonderful trip. read more

We are from Texas and are very picky about eating out because we love to cook also. But man did this place stand out! This burger was probably the best burger we have eaten. We put the mud (chili) on the side because again we are from Texas and our chili is different. lol but it was a decent chili. Not Texas Haha. The burger had great flavor and was absolutely huge. I could only eat half of mine and we split medium fries and they are homemade and cut the perfect size to get some crunchy ones. The staff were all so friendly and attentive. I was in Whitefish, MT for the weekend and wanted a good, independent burger stand. Mudman Burgers continually kept showing up and their coupling with an international charity lead us to give them a try. This small, old and quaint house has real charm. We were informed that the 1/3 pound patties are hand formed to order. The meat was thick, juicy and a bit salty. The burger was fully loaded with lettuce, tomato, bacon bits, special sauce and onions. The buns are home made. The ratio of meat to bun was 2:1. The fries were piping hot and lightly salted. It is a solid, generous amount of beef and juicy burger. I felt that the service was good and friendly. It just did not WOW me and leave me with the need to return. The locals swear about Mudman burger and I can't judge them about a Whitefish staple. You should give them a chance as they are providing a quality product with a generous heart as to why they are doing this. GOOD JOB GUYS! read more

A cool spot that the locals enjoy, and I can see why. The burgers are loaded up with bacon, secret sauce and chili. They and big and messy, but worth it. The chili is really well done and is awesome just on its own. The burger was tasty, but nothing spectacular. The homemade buns stole the show. This is a must try! The cozy house turned restaurant provided a homey and casual atmosphere. As soon as we entered we were genuinely greeted by the team. Their Mudman burger was flavorful~ filled with their mudman chili, bacon lettuce tomato onion and their special sauce. It was very filling. The chili fries were yummy. And don't forget to order their Huckleberry Shake. (I remember when we were in Yellowstone how Huckleberry was prominent.) I enjoy Mudman's Huckleberry Shake since it had real huckleberries. He recommended Mud Man, I was so down for a burger Mud Man's unique flavor and fun retro atmosphere is incredible! The service was great and the chili fries and milkshakes are a must!!! They make their own root beer in house and have it on tap too! They are not open Sundays. We tried to go again this past Sunday and we were so sad I can't wait to go back!! read more

The chili! This is literally the perfect burger. It has a little bit of everything and when you eat it all together it's just perfect. The chili is so good and has so much flavor but they don't overload it which is nice. You don't need a fork and knife because of the chili which I appreciate. I'm amazed as I drive across the country to see that everywhere I go, there is always a bunch of places claiming to have the world's best hamburgers. We know they can't all be the best, but I like to see what makes each one think that way. When I stopped in to have a burger at Mudman Burgers I saw the signs and was, of course, skeptical. I must say after eating here that they have something great going on. Burgers can be typical but not here. Juicy, cheesy, with chili("mud") on them, they take things up a notch or two. Very nicely done but oh what a mess to eat! Good fries on the side, and a worthwhile charity they donate to makes this a great place to get a burger. Well worth stopping in. read more

The burgers here are HUGE! Especially the Big Mud which features a double patty. You can definitely tell things are made in house and to order. Everything is fresh and extremely filling. The huckleberry shake is worth trying, and the mud (chili) also makes the dishes unique. One minor quirk was that I did find everything to be a bit on the saltier side, from the patty to the chili to the bacon. We needed a dog friendly restaurant on our road trip and found this place. It is new and still undergoing some construction and decorating. It is a cute converted house with the backyard set up with picnic tables and high tops plus bistro sets. They have a small grassy area, umbrellas, and tarps for shade, Two dog bowls were outside but didn't have water. You order at inside of the house and they bring food to you. It took a few minutes to get service since they were having problems with the shake machine. Food was delicious and good value for the portions. We had the original hamburger, grilled chicken sandwich, split fries. Their fry sauce is delicious. Enjoyed the spicy flavor. My chicken was also tasty and burger was great. Definitely 5 for food and 3.5 for service so 4 seems about right. They are new and I'm sure will work the kinks out with experience. It would be nice to have water bowls filled for customers with dogs. And also a dog menu. Lazy Dog restaurants bring water to your table for the pups and have a few menu items you can get for the dogs to eat while you're there. read more

Saw this place just driving by, looked it up and decided to try it. Sure glad we did! Best burger I've had in a very long time. They load the burger with a lot of toppings and the flavors just work so well together! I did opt out of the mud (chili) because I'm not a fan and definitely not on my burger. My float was perfectly ratioed ice cream to root beer and I love the old timey soft serve they use! It's rare to find these days. Just tried this Mudman for the first time. It's great overall, but the food is not quite as good as the Columbia Falls location. Atmosphere and decor are better. Fries were kinda small and dry, burger was slightly dry. But, overall, everything was quite fresh and delicious. I look forward to trying them again and hopefully upgrading them to a 5/5. Right now this is Whitefish's most consistently decent burger. :) read more

Mudman's is hands down the BEST burger you'll ever eat. We visited the one in Columbia Falls on a rainy drive back from GNP, and the whole family loved it so much, we had to try it again in Whitefish. The service is great at both locations.
