Upon arriving we were greeted by a hostess (a young girl) who could have cared less is we came in or not. She didn't ask if we wanted a booth or table and barely mumbled a welcome. Once seated our waiter introduced himself with just a hair more personality and enthusiasm. Once we ordered our drinks he pretty much dropped them on the table and threw the straws at us. At this point we were close to leaving but decided to stick it out. Our food (chicken parmigiana) was ok at best. Near the end of the meal our waiter found another 2 degrees of personality. Absolutely horrible service. We were a party of four. We were seated and ordered appetizers of chips and salsa. And a cocktail. The cocktails arrived after a few minutes. But after waiting for 40 minutes for the appetizers, finally had to request the manager. After that a few moments later, the chips and salsa arrived. After approximately 20 more minutes, the server never returned and had to ask the manager to return again for our server to take our order. The server arrived and took our order without writing anything down. Approximately 15 minutes later, the server came back and said he had forgotten the order because he had taken a personal phone call and couldn't remember it. We then place the order again. Nearly 30 minutes later the food still had not arrived and requested the manager for a third time. After another long, wait, the food finally arrived and all four entrées were completely cold as if they had been sitting for quite some time. After requesting the manager for a fourth time foul, the manager didn't even respond and had to be located somewhere else in the restaurant. After complaining about the food and the complete lack of service, the manager did comp the meal which of course we did not eat anyway. Would highly not recommend this establishment read more

I ordered a martini, waiter comes back says your margarita will be out soon. I said I ordered a martini, he says oh well it's already made, like I was just supposed to drink it. I said I cannot drink tequila it makes me sick that's why I order martinis. He messed up the other tables drink and acted like he didn't want to fix it. Even one of their meals was cooked incorrectly. Entire meal was a shit show. With the manager almost arguing with the next table and them leaving. Hubby ordered a double bacon cheeseburger (per usual) was cooked correctly. I ordered boneless Garlic Parmesan wings. The wings came on top of a pool of garlic butter WAY TOO MUCH. Food was good, service could be improved upon. Our order took advantage of Happy Hour and the Monday $11.99 Burger promotion but when we received our bill everything was marked at full price. Our waiter made numerous attempts to rectify the pricing and ultimately we were comped a hamburger to adjust for the overbilling. The poor bartender was overwhelmed because no body in the place was helping do anything. We were seated at a table so rickety the drinks would have spilt, so we moved ourselves to an around table more solid. Desiree our bartender/server came and took our order and apologized for the extreme waiting time, all the while the two gals in the back stood there watching her doing everything and stuffing their faces behind the back wall. It took forever for our food to arrive probably over 30 minutes and everything and I mean everything was cold. We had brought our friends from Calgary because they had never eaten at an Applebee's and in the past we've had pretty good experiences, but not tonight! When a young man came up named Noah ask how everything was? Neil our guest from Canada says everything's cold. The fries are freezing cold and they were, Noah didn't hesitate. He ran and got us a plate of warm fries. My wife's fish and chips were disgusting. No tartar sauce came with the meal and the fries cold. There is a 100% chance I will never go to that Applebee's again not sure what happened because when it was on the other side of town, it was decent not so much now. Desiree was running herself ragged and two hostesses walk to the back multiple times never lifting a finger to bus dishes or pretty much anything. The Manager should be fired, whomever it is has no leadership or organizational skills. read more

Word of advice: if you order off their website for carry out, make them open the bag(s) to verify that everything that was ordered is actually in the bag. If they get it wrong (as they did with our order last night) they act like 'well that's too bad' and that seems to be the end of it. To rectify the problem they need to 'contact corporate'. After a long day sightseeing around the Flathead Valley in Montana. We were ready for a good sit-down meal. Driving around town we couldn't find a place we wished to eat, Well we finally found the right place for us, Applebee's. Everywhere we have been, Applebee's food have been great. We ordered a steak and prawns. Oh, it was so good and filling. The waitress was so friendly, and we shared stories back and forth and had many laughs together. The waitress was very professional and checked on us to see if everything was fine. It was. When she asked us if we were ready for the check. She went to get it and upon returning she said, "No charge!" she said another anonymous customer had paid our Bill. Wow! We were shocked. No one has ever done this for us in our 51 years of marriage. My wife and I had tears in our eyes that someone we didn't know would do such a kind thing. To our anonymous kindhearted friend, Thank You. Our bill was around $60. Rack of ribs are supposed to be fall off the bone tender but mine were burnt to them, that's not a joke. Ordered take out and the portion sizes for my appetizers as well as my friends were noticeably smaller than they were when we last ordered dine in. Spent $70 excluding tip and I feel totally ripped off. Hopefully this doesn't happen to every take out order. Will not be returning. read more

I haven't eaten at an Applebees for many years and was pleasantly surprised by how tasty our entrees were. Our server was very pleasant and helpful with all of our questions. The restaurant is pleasant and clean with good parking. I ordered an 8 ounce sirloin steak which was pretty darned good at an excellent price. My friend had salmon and was very pleased. read more

Walked into the kalispell restaurant and waited for over 15 minutes before anybody acknowledged I was there. Noted that people that came in after me were greeted. The place was fairly empty (maybe 10 tables occupied). Asked to speak to the manager and employee asked why. I reminded him I wanted to speak to a manager. Found another employee and asked him for the manager. He retrieved the manager and manager asked me what I needed with tone. I told him I was there for 15 minutes and nobody waited on me. Went for lunch in between appointments and errands and the service was fast, friendly, and attentive. It was busy and a bit crowded but I didn't mind that. I decided to go to dinner with my best friend and her boyfriend as we going the server or buss boy "Matthew" greets us and honestly his costumer service was very unprofessional and upsetting. I was in town for the night looking for a place to eat and haven't been to an Applebee's in a very long time. I might have come after a rush and was towards the end of dinner time. Most every table I saw was dirty, filled with dirty plates, bar table was dirty, floor was disgusting, etc. I didn't know where else to go or else I would have left. I sat at the bar and had to ask the bartender to please clean the counter and was surprised I had to point it out. I had a Caesar salad and side of Mac & cheese and a Blue Moon. Everyone is a team, everyone is happy and helpful, the food was delicious and everyone was accommodating and so nice. The bartender was so sweet and kind. Arrived around 10:00 pm and asked if they were still serving food, to which the server replied yes. The server who greeted us, however was not the person who was responsible for serving my friend and I. We waited for several minutes while the bartender/server finished flirting with a couple of other patrons before she came to take our drink orde (which she proceeded to mess up). After flirting with the other patrons again and doing at least one shot, the bartender/server delivered our drinks (not what we had ordered but at this point it was 10:20 and they supposedly closed at 11:00 so we did not say anything). She then returned to have another round with her other patrons and then came to get our order around 10:30. After about 15 minutes we asked where our orders were (we had attempted to order something easy and quick) only to be told the cook had already closed the kitchen BUT was proceeding to prepare our food. About 5 minutes later the food did arrive. It was tasty and they did not try to push us out at 11:00 (guess it was a good excuse for the bar to stay open for a little while longer). Well the majority of us have all been to Applebee's at one point or another. I'd say a very high percentage of them either don't return or have major complaints. Food is barely decent, wait staff is nice, and your wait time isn't overly long. Basically for what you're paying you're not getting very high quality food by any means. I walked in as a first time customer and walked out as a last time customer. Ordered the bbq ribs upon the recommendation of the waitress. After waiting forever I received a plate with a rack of dried up cold pork with a cold glaze slapped on it. I picked up the end rib as you would normally and found that it did not break away as most tender rib slabs would. I then tried to break one off with my fork. Failed again. Then I took the fork and serrated knife and could not cut through the meat. I though I had hit bone but no the entire slab was so tuff I couldn't cut it. The waitress came over and asked how the ribs were as she obviously noted I had pushed the plate away. I said "inedible". She said "no that's not possible." I thereupon handed her the serrated knife and invited her to give it a stab. She couldn't penetrate the hard dried out jerky-like meat. She then said "oh you're right, I'll give you a 50% discount". I was shocked that she didn't offer to comp the entire entree. Sure enough when the bill came the rib charge was there with a discount. This place is obviously run by people uninterested in serving a quality product. Needless to say I would never recommend this restaurant. Try Famous Dave's next to it. read more

My husband is a veteran and my youngest son is partially handicapped and the servers were just plain nasty to them both. All the times we have been there and have left good tips and the one time that my son was treating us to dinner by going in and getting food because I really wanted my chicken Alfredo from there. I was at home sick and that is what I was really looking forward to having. When they returned home with the food I got out my dinner and for the first time ever I couldn't even eat it. There was Hadley any Alfredo sauce it was just all noodles and chicken dry as all could be. Plus I was told by husband and son how the servers were so rude to them. We had tried this restaurant when it was new. It seemed to have a specific crowd (regulars) that mattered, but I felt invisible. The food was blah, so I chose to go to the other Applebee's in town. After a couple of bad experiences in the other restaurant, I decided to give this one another try, since they were new when I tried them before. We just did a simple take-out meal, but it seems it was less than simple for the restaurant. When my wife went to pick up the meal, there were employees talking in the distance, and nobody came to help. After a couple employees looked her way and just continued their conversations, she finally went to the bar to ask for help. The bartender was helpful and contacted a server for her. My wife asked for some specific condiments to compliment the meal, and the server seemed put out by having to go back to get them. When the server returned, she had MOST OF the item his my wife had asked for (even acknowledging it by the her comment when she returned) then when my wife paid with cash she had the nerve to ask if she wanted her change. The ribs (which normally fall off the bone) were so tough they couldn't be eaten. The chicken Alfredo had a good dose of chicken, which seemed to be a heated version of Tyson, but was totally lacking sufficient sauce. My Fiancé and I decided to try the Kalispell Applebee's on Valentine's Day evening for the first time and it was the worst experience ever for us at a restaurant yes they were busy but that is not an excuse for bad service by the waitress she was rude and unhelpful the food was awful and the management refused to speak with me about the situation I asked to speak with her in private so I wouldn't embarrass the waitress she refused to come and talk to me instead she hid in the kitchen with excuses another employee asked if she could help me I told her since the manager refused to come up to the front that I wasn't going to pay for my food until she spoke with me. Then the waitress that we had came up and tells me to leave very rudely. The whole time we were at the restaurant the only time the waitress came to our table was to take our order after we had been sitting there for 10 min then we sat there for about 15 min before she brought out our appetizer and drinks then we waited 20 min for our meal which was dry hard overcooked then she didn't come back until slapped our check on the table didn't even stopped to asks if we wanted dessert or anything else she didn't check on us at any other time to even see if we needed drinks or anything else I had to ask another person walking by for a refill on our drinks it's really hard to stomach the awful without anything to wash it down with I asked for a glass of water that I never received we had the mozzarella sticks appetizer which was the only edible part of our meal our full meal consisted of chicken strips& fries and the fiesta, lime chicken the chicken strips were so dry and overcooked and tough the fries were cold the fiesta, lime chicken was dry, and tasteless and the fried rice was over cooked and hard it couldn't even be ate as I said, it was an awful experience, and I will never go back. Worst and most unprofessional customer service! We were seated and ordered drinks and food. We never received our drinks(draft beer) from bar. We asked the waitress about it and she proceeded to split the checks of 6ppl sitting at a nearby table and never brought us our drinks. After almost 20min we asked to speak to a manager. The waitress Trinity was very defensive and initially refused to get the manager. Finally the manager showed up. We were trying to explain our concerns to him but Trinity kept interrupting us. The beer coincidentally FINALLY showed up around that time. When we said we wanted a different server, she became irate and began yelling at us. At that point we left. Will never be back. This person should not be interacting with the public. Applebee's used to be a decent place to grab a late dinner not no more! There are better options. Stay away!!! read more
