WHAT HAPPENED!!! My family and I come here at least twice a year whenever we're in town, and unfortunately, each visit seems to be worse than the last. About five or six years ago, we noticed things starting to decline, and the downward trend has continued ever since. The restaurant always seems to be "short-staffed." I understand that staffing challenges happen--people call in sick or quit unexpectedly. However, that's when managers and supervisors should step in and help support their teams. That doesn't seem to be happening here anymore. Around the same time, the food quality also started to become inconsistent. Sometimes it's excellent, beautifully prepared, and well-presented. Other times it feels rushed, carelessly thrown together, and as though it sat in the window far too long before reaching the table. The biggest disappointment is that this restaurant used to be so reliable. Seven or more years ago, it was consistently great, which is why we kept coming back. Unfortunately, this last visit will be our final one. It was the worst experience we've had here. Our food took almost an hour to arrive, and our children's meals took even longer. Kids' food should arrive first or at the same time but never after the adults' food! Definitely not 15 minutes later! Our server, Jersey, was not friendly and seemed to be doing the absolute bare minimum. When we asked for refills, she appeared annoyed, and dirty plates remained stacked on our table throughout our entire meal. Horrible service. And to expensive. We never got our appetizer. I had to go get silver wear myself because she never brought it. She didn't even ask if we needed anything once our food came or I would have mentioned we didn't have forks for our salad. I had to ask twice for napkins before getting them myself from the cooks. She left all the dirty plates sitting on our table while we tried to make room to eat. And it was not because they were busy. We were one of 3 tables and they had at least two waitress' working. Called in a carry-out order two days ago, went to pick it up and found the hostess not wearing a mask. The entire kitchen staff (8 or 10) were not wearing masks. I'm shocked that all these people prefer to pretend that the Covid-19 pandemic doesn't exist, but I'm not one of them. With my "underlying conditions," Covid-19 would be a virtual death sentence for me. Masks are not about protecting the wearer - they're about protecting those around them. For context, a friend at the table ordered a half side salad that appeared to contain noticeably more lettuce than the entrée salad I received. Based on typical expectations, an entrée salad is generally a more substantial portion. Normally 4-6 ounces for an entree salad. I have been in the restaurant business for over 45 years as a manager and owner so I completely understand restaurants have established portion standards and operational considerations. This was way beyond acceptable by any means. Needless to say I will never be back and will share my experience.
