Slip-ons and sandals are my favorite kinds of shoes. It's not because I don't know how to tie them, it's just a lazy and convenience factor for me. When Vans released their Star Wars collaboration, I was super stoked and immediately rushed out to buy myself a few pairs -- my favorites being the Darth Vader inspired ones. I also picked up the A New Hope artwork kicks, but didn't want to wear them because I thought they were too pretty to ruin. There were a few other designs that were okay, but I think the kids got the coolest designs, per usual. I knew my days were limited with my fave footwear, until my friend Corre shot me a text letting me know that the Vans Outlet Store had all of them available... and cheap! I immediately went to the store to scope out what they had left, and they pretty much had all the designs. After it was all said and I done, I bought two pairs: the Darth Vader and the A New Hope ones. Now I can wear the ANH ones and keep the other pair in the box and when my Darth ones die, I have a backup pair! The store really is quite large and awesome. Think of it like Nordstrom Rack in terms of shoes - they divide the store up by shoe size and you just peruse based on your measurements. They tend to have really great sales, and on this day, it was buy one, get one 50%. The shoes are pretty cheap on their own, but my purchase for two pair came out to $45. Can't beat that. They have a variety of designs and different styles. You're probably not going to find their most popular pieces here - but it's a great alternative if you're not picky and don't want to spend a lot. They carry a lot of discontinued options, but if you became attached to a particular design and you wanted another pair, there's a good chance they might have it. The return policy is fantastic. You can return/exhange up to 30-days as long as they aren't worn. If you don't want to take another pair, you can even bring these shoes back to any other Vans store for a full refund. Now that's awesome! Not like other outlets where all sales are final. Staff is super helpful and friendly. To be perfectly honest, I think wearing Vans over the age of 30 is questionable, unless you're a pro-skater or pro-hipster. I'm definitely not hip enough to wear Vans. And I'm certainly not young enough, either. However, my 1 1/2 year old kid is and he can rock them like no other. I had been here when it was a regular Vans store, so I was very excited to hear that they were converting it into an outlet. When I stopped by a few days ago, I was surprised by the changes. The store itself seems like it expanded twice its size and there were a ton more shoes. I'm guessing they simply knocked down the back area where they usually keep the shoes. There are rows and rows of discounted Vans and they are all organized pretty well. I had no trouble walking in and finding the toddler shoes right away. Although there were plenty of discounted shoes, I was bummed to find that the shoes I love for my kid (namely the old-school b&w checkerboard style) was still full price. And yes, I'm aware that's it crazy/dumb to pay $30 for shoes that your kid will only wear for a few months, if that. But I can't help it. He just looks too cute in them. Go check this place out. But keep in mind that your favorite retro Vans might still be full price. read more

Iono why people are having issues here. The customer service attentiveness is pretty low, they pretty much dont help you unless you like speak up. Came in and they had all these Buy1Get1Free deals up. The only place i only see Buy1Get1HalfOff is in retail locations. The shoes only have deals on specific racks, there will be a sign when u walk down a row and u look at the top of the rack. It'll be a lowered price usually. The tall racks in the back just have marked down prices. Some racks will have a sign that says Buy1Get1HalfOff which really translates into (25%off when you buy in groups of 2: this is the best scenario when both items are equal price, if one item is a lower price thats the one you get half off so that translates into some % less than 25% on the duo purchase). But seriously, this is a Van's outlet so everything here is mostly stuff that isn't selling too hot or has been too long on the racks at retail locations so you find ur old non-selling vans products here instead. I did manage to convince this one girl to check the back inventory for a sweater i wanted in a size that wasnt on the floor. She went back and found one. I then asked if there was the same sweater in another color cuz I wanted that one too, she declined to go back again and look for the 2nd one. Boo. So results of the trip. Found 1 of the sweaters I was roaming around the retail locations for, pounding my head cuz they were listed at a god-awful price of $39. Not a thick sweater for really cold winter nights but like a loosy softish pretty plain hoodie...for thirty nine dollars....And the deal was get one free but like again...not really great choices sitting around so grabbed an okay one that was actually twice as thick as the $39 one and it was originally like $65 but currently marked at $29.99. Still a great buy considering I got the one sweater I really wanted...now I just need to find the other 2 colors... read more

I didn't think vans would ever have a discount or outlet store...but i was wrong. I heard about this gem and checked it out today. I was a little hesitant at first, but left very happy with two brand new vans shoes for $45 total. MOST of the shoes here are buy one get one 1/2 off. I found two shoes that i liked a lot....one grey and white one, and another one in the same style that was a dark red/maroon and white shoe. They were both discounted priced at $30 but with the buy one get one 1/2 off deal one was $15. I found the customer service to be great. They also had pants and sweaters for buy one get one 1/2 off and the jeans and pants were mostly $30 and saw a nice vans jacket for $40. I would DEFINITELY be back again...you do need to search around for shoes in your size section. I literally checked almost all of the boxes in my 10 1/2 section to find something I liked, but I did leave with 2 great pairs. read more

This store is THE BEST OUTLET! Every time my husband and I have been in there they are having this awesome buy one, get one half off (of equal or lesser value) and my husband and I ususally clean up big time! I'm talking proper buttondown shirts and board shorts and t-shirts and shoes ALL already discounted and FURTHER DISCOUNTED by the sale they often have. Call in before and ask if they're running any extra promotions... if not, I'd just wait it out because honestly... its SO worth it! You can actually buy current vans styles here but don't expect a lot of selection - Its usually just the classics (lace up, slip on in black, white, red and navy) and they're very rarely on sale. BUT there are about 6 racks and more linning the back of the store for Mens, Womens and Kids shoes/sandals and there you'll find good prices. Its usually last season and beyond ranging between 10-60% off but the quality is still there! I've gotten womens shoes for like $10 - sometimes even the shoes are buy one, get one half off! I love this store because the sales staff are usually very helpful and there is usually even deeper discounts to be found in their clearance racks and its all the same cool stuff as you can buy in most skate shops or the actual VANS store at the Spectrum... its just WAY cheaper aka more awesome. They have a private parking lot that fits about 10 cars so it can get crowded but its very easily accessed off the 57. Just look for the VANS sign on your right if coming from th 57. As my style matures, I find myself buying less and less here (oh I'm fancy huh?) but I know my husband loves the t-shirts to just play around in and I'll definitely be kitting out my kids here someday! read more

I was skeptical to go after reading a couple reviews speak poorly about the customer service. However, upon my arrival I have to say that customer service was exceptional. I was asked politely multiple times if I required help. After declining assistance I was told to feel free to ask if I needed help at any point. I felt absolutely no pressure to buy or to be assisted. I was able to shop at my leisure. I also witnessed the reps gladly helping out other customers in the store and heard them greet everyone coming into or leaving the store. The selection was great to me. They did not have the exact shoe I was looking for (navy C&P Era 59's with leather laces) but they had a variation of it that I was happy with (navy Era 59's with regular brown laces). I also got a pair of black plaid slip ons for half off. Most of the shoes are eligible for the buy 1, get 1 50% off promotion they always have running. I ended up getting 2 pairs of Vans for a little over $59! One more thing about the customer service - I went to the register with my Era 59's when the rep asked if I wanted to get another pair for 50% off. I thought the Era 59's were not part of the buy 1, get 1 50% off since they did not have a sticker on the shoe. The rep told me that only the classics and a few other styles are not part of the promo but most shoes that have prices that end in .95 or .97 are eligible. If you are unsure you can always ask. Pros: - Great service (if you need it as some other shoppers did or barely do like me, the staff is always there to help) - Buy 1, Get 1 50% off (2 pairs for under $60 = win!) - Ample parking (private corner lot) - Clean store (I was expecting shoe boxes strewn on the floor and unorganized shelves like I saw at Shoe City the other day) Cons: - The selection was ample enough for me but you might not find the exact pair you are looking for (if you really must have a specific pair then you can always go to a regular Vans store I suppose) - It is possible for sizes to be limited since this is an Outlet Oh, I also received a $20 off $50 purchase between September 9 and 18, 2011 coupon for purchasing over $50 worth of shoes (I bought my shoes August 18, 2011). I may have to go back to buy a matching pair of shoes for my 3 year old son and me. I am not sure when this promo ends, though. I think I just found a new place to buy my shoes. My best friend lives down the street from this location. She has 3 teenage boys who, like most So. Cal boys, loves Vans (shoes, swag, hats, socks, etc.) She just happened to mention it one day and thought I should try it out too. I have a 16 yo boy and an 18 yo girl. He is the pickiest when it comes to his clothes. I finally pinned it down to the skinny vans jeans with the tapered legs and only in black, grey or denim. And he likes the mid-cut tennis shoes. We have a store within 2 blocks of our house, but they only have regular prices. I have made the special trip to Orange just to shop here for my son. Instead of paying $55 per each pair of jeans or one hoodie, you can catch some AWESOME sales here. My son's birthday is in early February so I thought I would go see my girlfriend and take a side trip to this store. I guess I was lucky this time. Last time they had a Buy 1 Get the 2nd for 50% off. Most of the prices are around $29.99 and $39.99 for most items. I found several mid-cuts shoes for my son: 1 was $39.99 and the second pair was $19.99. So for $60 I got him two pairs that would have run $65 each or $130 for both pair, thus saving myself $70. Today, I went in and to my surprise they had an even BETTER sale! Buy 1 Get 1 FREE!!!! This applied to hoodies (on sale $29.99-$49.99), jeans ($29.99), backpacks ($30-$35), hats and a few other things. The tees were 2 for $20. My son being very much into hoodies right now requested I get some the next time I came here. So I found 3 hoodies at $29.99 each (regular $55 each) and 1 pair of skinny tapered leg jeans for $29.99 (regular $55). All told a retail value of $220 worth of hoodies and jeans. At the Buy 1 Get 1 Free promo, I ended up paying for 2 items at $29.99 ($60) and getting the two others FREE!!! Overall savings was $160 !!! Yeah baby! I asked how often these sales happen. The very happy helpful clerks said 2-3 times per year but they never know when that might be. This one was good through this weekend (Jan 27th). They usually happen for a week or so then they go back to the buy 1 - get 1 @ 50% off. I was also told that they sell the shoes until they are sold out. They will continue to mark the items down until they are gone! With that being said, if you can be flexible in your choices, you can find some rocking deals here. However, if you want a particular style or color, you can custom order online or go to any of the regular stores and pay full price ( around $50-$65+). I guess my purchases were somewhat validated when I came home to show my 18 yo daughter what she thought of her brother's presents. She (who normally doesn't really like Vans) asked if she could have one of the hoodies. She said that it was a distressed red and that might be too girly for him. However, she had a male friend over who saw what I got and thought I was a mom who had rocking good TASTE! He said he would love to get any of the products as a gift! I was going to get my son some more shoes but he already has 2 pairs right now with 2 pairs to grow into. Inside it is neat and well kept. I was in and out in less than 15 minutes. It is a small store and can get hard to maneuver if there are lots of people like around Christmas. But when I was there (Friday evening around 6:00 pm) there was only 2 other people in the whole store. The young staff are attentive and friendly. There is a generous 60-day return policy. Just leave the tags on and hold on to your receipt to get your full credit. Remember, they keep lowering the prices until the product sells. Overall, one of my favorite places for great new products at great discounted prices. Once I got the styles and colors down, I am pretty good at getting my son what he wants. My savings can range from 50%-80% off if you are lucky and shop well. Come and check it out. You won't be sorry!! read more

This location was one of the original Van's stores from as far back as at least the 1970's, when Van's was made and sold only in So Cal. If you like Van's and don't want to pay retail, skip the mall and check this place out. They have shoes, clothing, accessories, etc. All discounted! They also have clearance and specials. The store is clean, extremely well stocked, and very helpful staff. If you don't see what you need, they will cheerfully do their best to find it. Tustin Ave in Orange is a treasure trove of great local businesses. Lot's of good places to eat, too! read more

So, my story was after reading all of the great review on Yelp, i was very excited to go here. After picking out four pairs of shoes for my bf and I, the total came out to 120 bucks. I was surprised and asked about the discount, then the cashier informed us that the discount does not apply for shoes. so then i only took two pairs, the total came out to be $65 including tax. This place has way more of a selection and sometimes better pricing on the clearance items you don't get at the stores. This store is fantastic! Yeah, it's not located anywhere rad. A lousy liquor store is near by. A delicious hole-in-the-street latin food restaurant is a walk away. But other than that, yes a weird location. But this store has all the goods for your feet! Because it is an outlet, they don't showcase the newest trendy Vans shoe, but they have ones that are available for cheap! I got one sale pair for $30, and the second pair was $15. Why would I turn that down? Even Payless can't compete with that. Payless shoes won't last me more than 9 months. I know Vans will get me through at least Winter 2014, just in time for the zombie apocalypse. The other aspect of this store that won me over was the customer service. It's run by youthful employees who are there to help you be happy but also not create their own headache. They were very chill with me exchanging my shoe size. I have no idea if they get any commission at all, but the way they treat you sure makes you feel like they're working for it. the outlet is no different. I come here at least once a month. The shoes are usually a miss for me. They have selected styles where they actually get real shipments in and will have most sizes available. They also have walls of 'single pair' shoes organized by size. Since i first discovered the place about nine months ago, they've always had at least a buy one get one 50% off sale. The prices still seem to be high, to me, even despite it being an outlet store and them having sales. Still, it's quality/popular footwear, and beats other prices at competing stores. The store is located on a corner and looks small from the outside. Inside, I was surprised to find not only shoes, but socks, clothing, accessories, and more. Nicely done. Devon assisted us and his personable skills were appreciated. He showed us full price and sale locations, for my children's sizes and mine. Either this store read my first review back in 2012 or they got new staff altogether! I was so blown away by the experience I recently had with them back in January! I was greeted when we walked in which didn't happen the last time I came here! What really knocked my socks off is that someone actually came to help me!! Usually I go to the back of the store and look around without anyone asking if I need help so I assumed it would be the same, 10 minutes later a super nice employee named Eric came to help me and bought me every shoe you could think of!! He took his time and had such a good attitude! I was so surprised since I've had bad service here in the past! He spent a good 20-25 minutes bringing out shoes for me! When I got to the counter to checkout they were nice as well! I couldn't believe how much the service has changed (for the good!) I had been meaning to stop into a Vans store to try on a pair of slip on Vans to check how they fit so I could then order the specific leather pair that I wanted online. We were in the area on a Saturday between 10:30-11:00 am so we decided to stop by this location. When I asked an employee if they had the shoe I was looking for, I was prepared to hear him say no, but I was blown away to learn they had the exact pair I wanted! I'm glad we stopped in not only because I found what I was looking for, but also because I wouldn't have knows that I needed to go up half a size in the slip ons. If you have little ones, I would highly recommend this outlest store for discounted kids shoes from 1-2 seasons ago. This store totally had what I needed and we were in and out in about 10 minutes! Vans has always been a staple in our wardrobe, especially since we had kids. This place is usually pretty clean and has a decent selection in all sizes. They aren't going to have the newest and special collection styles (usually) but if you're looking for basics, this is the place to go. They also always offer bogo 50% off, which is always nice!
