Lucia at Val's is the absolute best! She cleaned my condo from top to bottom. Excellent service! She doesn't speak much English, but is very intuitive. Just point at what you need cleaned. When she left, the house smelled amazingly clean. Thanks again Lucia read more

Scheduled a move-out cleaning several weeks in advanced and prepaid for the service. I received several confirmation email for the date/time of service and no other communication, so I assumed the job was completed as scheduled. A week after the scheduled cleaning, my realtor called letting me know that the place looked awful. I promptly called Val's and was told that if I file a complaint, it needs to be within 24 hours. They also asked for photos and "proof" to file the complaint. As I am managing a rental unit from afar, I am unable to fly over to take some photos of the apartment to confirm it hadn't been cleaned. These requests seem unfounded to me considering no one had even been to the property. I also confirmed with the management company that the key had not been checked out during the day of the scheduled cleaning. There are times when I've had tenant turn around with just a day or two in between, if this was one of those cases there is no way it would have gotten cleaned before the new tenant arrived. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Val's cleaning service. My experience was awful, they were also unapologetic and I felt that they handled it poorly. If there was a prompt response after my complaint, I may have considered giving Val's another try. read more

I give the company credit for trying to fix the situation, but I was overall unhappy with the way my service went. I'm pregnant and the smell of cleaning products is making me sick, so I booked a deep clean of our condo. The cleaner was prompt, friendly, and professional. I stayed home while she was cleaning to work on some other projects and tried to stay out of her way. After a few hours she said she had to leave for another appointment. I thanked her, and that's when I noticed that several rooms, including the dining room and master bedroom, had not been touched. The areas she did get to were fine; I wouldn't have thought of it as a deep clean, more of a "regular" clean since there were surfaces that hadn't been dusted, but it generally looked okay. The company reached out after the cleaning to thank me for booking. I emailed back to say while what the cleaner did was fine, she didn't finish and it didn't quite feel like a "deep clean." I asked if anything could be done to finish the job. The company called me minutes later to ask for details and said they'd call back. A few minutes later they emailed, saying they'd give me 10 percent off, but that the cleaner told them my home was "unusually unorganized" and she was unable to clean because of it. They then suggested I book a "super deep clean" in the future, or book first thing in the morning (which I had done). I was stunned and insulted, and immediately called the company to say so. They asked that I send some photos. I sent photos of the untouched master bedroom and dining room, which had been deemed too disorganized to clean. I've also attached them to this post. The company then emailed back to say they were sorry, and would take $20 off the cleaning. In short, I started slightly disappointed that the cleaner didn't finish and it didn't feel like a deep clean. I ended insulted by what was said about my home, which quite frankly is not disorganized. I give the company credit for trying to remedy the situation after the fact, but the entire encounter left me with a bad taste in my mouth. read more

I had the deep cleaning, and the only difference I could tell from a standard cleaning was that my fridge was cleaned inside (I asked the freezer not be cleaned as I had not cleared it out). I have pretty high standards, and I thought a deep cleaning would have included interior windows, doors, and handles, but these were quoted as extras. Juliet was pleasant and professional; I appreciated that she changed shoes from her street shoes when cleaning. read more

BUYER BEWARE!! I booked a deep cleaning with 2 weeks ago and paid over the phone in the amount of $680 for a deep cleaning plus organizing. The day comes and I get a no call no show. I called and received a voicemail that they were closed (but how?).. anyway, I found the confirmation text from the day before and just responded with 'Hi, what's the status because at this point they are 30 minutes late! I then get a text saying the previous client had an incident and to reschedule for tomorrow.. I was heated!! This was unacceptable.. I also asked for a manager to return my call and no one did. Please don't use them.. they are scammers.. took my $680 quickly but delivered nothing! Waiting on full refund now! read more

The BEST cleaning service I've had in Chicago!!!! They're very responsive, accommodating to changing schedules if you sign up for reoccurring services, and extremely professional. Can't recommend them enough! read more

Val's has been wonderful to work with and their employee, Julia was top notch! My apartment was way overdue for a cleaning, but Julia made no judgments and got right to work. She was efficient, diligent, and I don't think my microwave has ever been that clean ! I have signed up for a regular cleaning schedule and look forward to a clean apartment from now on! read more

I used Val's for a deep cleaning of a condo that we had not moved into yet. They listened to what I needed and decided on one person for a bit over $300 which felt like a good deal. I was worried that it was not going to be enough time for a deep clean, but they felt it was enough and booked it like that. Based on other reviews as well as my experience, I believe they lean on the aggressive side for pricing to get you to book, but are not accounting for how long a deep clean will take. The cleaner I got was a bit new and she did a great job over a pretty long day to get the 2br/2ba condo cleaned. At some point you just can't do a high level of cleaning by yourself in a single session. At the end of the day the price I paid fell into "clean" vs "deep clean" and I ended up getting closer to a "clean" vs "deep clean" in my results. I likely will use their services again since I think the overall cleaning was solid and would like to see how follow up cleanings go. I would recommend that their company take more money from customers and give more cleaners for those that want deep cleanings. I spent my own time and energy going through the house to clean some spots there just wasn't enough time to do. I don't fault the cleaner in any way and would have loved to spend close to double the price to get a second body in there that could maybe focus a little bit on things like the kitchen and obscure dusting spots while the other person cleans the rest. I also will say that, after seeing other reviews, maybe the vacuums the cleaners use are not good enough to get the job done. People said they don't think the cleaner vacuumed their floors or carpets, but I watched my cleaner vacuum all my carpets/rugs and there was still a good amount of dirt/hair/dust etc left over. My guess is that they use this type of vacuum due to the mobility of the smaller vacuum so that the cleaners can use the train and walk vs drive. read more

Val's is great, but particularly Anika and Coco. Our first few experiences with Val's were just ok, but they were responsive and made it right. We've now had Coco clean twice now and she is excellent, as well as so friendly and pleasant. We had Anika clean with Coco today and they were awesome and so thorough. They even cleaned our HVAC closet. Anika and Coco are fantastic, super nice, and efficient. We will definitely be specifically requesting them going forward for our monthly cleans. read more

You be the judge. This was supposed to be a Move in/out Cleaning... What you see pictured will start at the low low price of $202. I've never been more disappointed in a cleaning service. Their refusal to come back and actually do the job was even more disappointing. Very poor work and even worse customer service... 0/10 would not recommend to a friend. Kika, Thanks for your response. I can post pictures of our texts and emails if you like. You guys were given plenty of opportunities to make it right. Specific requests were fully ignored. Again, take a look at the 20 pictures... I would prefer if you own it and admit that you dropped the ball here. Make it right for the next customer. read more

Just look at the post cleaning pics! She put wood polish on top of greasy drawers! Also, she broke the kitchen faucet! I I tried to reach out to customer service, emailed them, called them, texted them. All I got was this public reply on yelp, so they try to make them look like they care about their customers. The cleaning lady apparently took pictures and videos of my place, I guess to prove how dirty it was! Duh? That's why I hired professional cleaning, my place was dirty, kitchen pretty neglected... yes for sure. But does that make you right not to do what you're hired for? Does it make it ok to break a faucet ? At the time of Val's cleaning service was done, there was no one living nor coming in and out the apartment. I hired them to clean the place so I can list it for sale, I already moved out. Cleaning lady was the last one there after I left her to finish cleaning (you saw a quality of work, greasy cabinets etc) When I came back in couple of days later, I didn't even care about bad cleaning... I just wanted to let it go .... until I saw broken faucet! I asked them to refund my money for the faucet to be repaired but they refused.... the only argument they have is that the place was dirty..... I mean, I don't care, 260-300$ won't make me or break me, I just want to make sure that people are aware of their bad business. read more

I give three stars for the customer service and attempt to recover a poor customer experience. The office staff is friendly and responsive. The problem is, after two different cleaners were sent out for an expensive move in cleaning, these folks just CAN'T CLEAN. Note the before and after photos - what the debris from the medicine cabinet and shower door looked like when I came home after the second cleaning, vs what it looked like five min later when I broke down and did it myself. My 71 year old mom was ticked and adamant I should have just had her do it Move in cleanings are so important - you're moving in to someone else's dirt! Things like showers, toilets, medicine cabinets are critical. If they're sticky to the touch or still have black coming off them, they're not clean. I only review to try and be helpful as others have been for me. Found an awesome service two weeks later and they kill it every cleaning. Check out my other reviews if you're new and looking.. read more

Anika was fantastic! 5 stars!!she did a most beautiful job on the stove I've ever seen, she also cleaned the refrigerator, it's been a long time since we've had anybody do that or many of these deep cleaning items-- she spent many hours doing a great job. We have 2 vacuum cleaners so floors and rugs cleaned very well. Also dusting, bed etc. it's a big job, we have cats! We worked together doing various things and she did whatever I asked her to do. She's a really great person and enjoyed her company a lot. However I received a phone call from Vals saying that I needed to sign off on the invoice which I had already agreed to and paid. As they pointed out they actually owe me two dollars but I have not received that. They can take it off next time! read more

I had a great experience with Val's. I "won" a super deep cleaning through an online auction, so I did not pay full price. Two cleaners came (Dulce & Glenda) and they stayed for about 4 hours. They were warm and professional and they did great work. Thanks Dulce & Glenda! read more

AVOID THIS COMPANY. If you don't want to read the whole thing: they ruined my kitchen and bathroom sink and took zero responsibility. I will be financially liable for their mistakes. I want to preface this by saying this review is about the customer service at this company above all. After my cleaning, there were large black chemical stains on my stainless steel sink in the kitchen and faucet in the bathroom. I did not notice these before the cleaner left, but did after. I know these were not there before. I use my sink daily. I reached out to customer service and all they asked was if I had cameras in my home to essentially prove if this was the cleaner's fault. I do not. I did not realize I needed nanny cams to spy on cleaners to get any sort of customer service or accountability. Beyond that, they sent me an email the following day essentially saying they deny all liability and the case is closed. Nothing further. They said after their investigation into the products the cleaner used, they've decided they aren't liable. Despite the fact that they blatantly are, they choose to deny any wrongdoing and insinuated that I was lying about the sink. The cleaner claimed there were stains in the sink prior. There were not. I will now have to have these replaced, a financial cost because of this. I don't blame the cleaner here. She made a mistake. I assume she had no intention of using a product that would cause damage. But shit happens. Based on how they treat their customers, I can imagine they don't treat their staff all that well either, so I don't blame her for denying responsibility to cover herself. As a company however, you don't blame the customer and imply that they are lying. You can read many other 1-star reviews to see a theme stands out - they have terrible customer service. I'm not the first person on here to report that customer service does nothing. They are money hungry and nothing else. read more

I've used Val's Cleaning Services twice. The first time, the cleaner did a very thorough job. Later that day, however, I noticed a white silk shirt that I had hanging over my hamper was missing. I searched all around to see if the shirt showed up, but it never did. I didn't initially report the missing shirt because I wanted to give the cleaner the benefit of the doubt even though I am not one to misplace my things. I used Val's again a month or two later thinking it was unlikely they'd send the same person twice. Well, I was wrong, and the same cleaner showed up again. I didn't notice anything missing immediately after she left. However, later I discovered several items of clothing were gone, including a black leather jacket, yoga pants, and jogger sweatpants. The total cost to replace these items plus the silk shirt is approximately $200. As soon as I noticed the jacket missing, I called Val's to report the incident. I want to believe the best in people, but this was just too many missing items. Daisy told me she would check with the cleaner to see if she remembered moving the items. However, the company offered me no recourse for the trouble. I would have appreciated better customer service and wouldn't be writing this review if Val's had made at least a half-hearted attempt to make things right. Given Val's laissez faire attitude toward theft, I no longer feel comfortable having someone from the company in my house. I will find a more trustworthy cleaning service, and I cannot in good faith recommend this company to others. read more

Let me just preface the review by stating that the only reason I'm not giving a lower rating is because I was assisted well by Laurice when the mishap and miscommunications occurred, and she did not give a big fuss at all when I requested for a refund. She was very nice and understanding, and she did everything she could to try and get the cleaner to my appointment. It was also pretty easy to get the appointment set up in the beginning. That being said, my cleaner did not show up to my appointment. According to Laurice, there was just a big miscommunication. I was running 10 mins late to my appointment (I'm running errands as I am moving into a new place) and notified both Val's and my front desk so that someone can receive the cleaner. And then at one point the cleaner could not find my building, and then at another point they called and said she was waiting in the lobby, but then said not to go down there yet because she had actually already left? Probably my mistake that I didn't ask for the cleaner's number myself, but again, I'm running around trying to do my own errands at the same time. So I was in contact with a separate person in charge of the call line that day instead of the cleaner. Apparently the cleaner has my phone number but I didn't get any texts or calls from her that she was waiting downstairs. Sounds like they're going through some weird technical difficulties on their end because I was contacted multiple times by Val's about accepting an estimate they gave me-- days after I had already booked my appointment. Also they asked me the day before how the cleaner is supposed to access my place and I thought I gave a pretty good description, but when they called me to say my cleaner couldn't find my building, my file only says I said "button"? Not sure how that happened. Maybe I'm being generous with a 3-star but I have a receipt proving I'm getting my refund, and my unit is in decent shape anyway. Previous tenant probably had it cleaned after moving out. I'm sure Val's is trying their best, and their customer service staff sound like nice folks, but they probably won't be my first choice in the future. read more

I booked Val's for a deep cleaning of my 1 bedroom/1 bathroom apartment - the new client price ended up being $220, which I thought was pretty high for the amount of space to be cleaned, but I figured I'd come back to a phenomenally spotless apartment. Well I had a rude awakening when I opened my front door and immediately saw that NONE of the carpets had been vacuumed. My apartment carpet is the type that you can clearly see - based on the direction of the fibers - if it has been vacuumed or not, so it was apparent no vacuuming took place. The shower/tub combo was also not sufficiently cleaned - it was clear the Val's associate only focused on cleaning the silver accents of the shower/tub - rather than the base of the tub or shower walls - to give the appearances of the entire element being clean. Yes my fridge, oven, and microwave were cleaned on the interior, but not to the extent that it made up for the huge misses in the bathroom and with the floors. Beyond this, I called Val's to discuss the state of the "clean," and was told that the associate absolutely should have vacuumed. I was told they'd call the associate and I'd be called back "right away." It is now 8 hours later and I have yet to receive that return call from Val's. read more

I recently used Val's Services again, since I had such a great experience the first time, but this was for a deep clean at my current condo, not a move out. Maria Perez showed up right on time and went straight to work. I was working from home and I have a new puppy so I was able to be around while she cleaned and I was extremely impressed! She was such a professional and extremely polite and thorough. She did an excellent job and my opinion for Val's Services continues to be AMAZING. I highly recommend their services! Didn't keep their service consistent. Paid for a move-in clean for a 3 BR 2 bath. We discussed size and everything when I booked. They sent only one woman alone. Honestly- I'm impressed with what she was able to get done in 3 hours, but I was really hoping for a true deep clean. I knew it would take me days to do it by myself which is why I booked a service. On move in, I spent hours cleaning the inside of cabinets, which definitely hadn't been touched, even tho this is listed as included. Some of the higher ones and on top of microwave has full pieces of popcorn in/on them. One person never could have done an extremely thorough job in 3.5 hours. I would have happily paid more to have the job actually done right. read more

This cleaning service was recommended to me by a co-worker. And I was pleased that they could fit me in their schedule with almost 2 days' notice. I contacted them for a move-out cleaning of my kitchen only for a 2 bedroom apartment.  They brought their supplies. They started with Easy-Off in the oven and moved on to clean cabinets in and out with multipurpose spray. They finished with the refrigerator. They used microfiber towels. The job of the kitchen took them approximately 2.5 hours to complete. The cost was 150, which I felt was fair since this was a one-time cleaning of an especially dirty room requiring harsh chemicals. I left before they finished and was satisfied with the work. I was very grateful for the help; it was a tough and messy job. I would hire again, but probably try to anticipate any special issues, like things that might require special cleaning agents. read more

This was my second deep-clean. The first appointment last spring left much to be desired, so I was hesitant to try them again. But they have great customer service, and on-time, so I decided I'd give them another shot. This time around, the cleaning lady, Dulce, did a really good job. Places that weren't touched the first time, were definitely taken care of this time. She was fast as well. I'm glad they redeemed themselves and look forward to using them again. read more

Super disappointed with the "deep cleaning" that was provided by the 2 women that arrived. I found the shelves of my bookshelf weren't dusted, the cleaners dusted AROUND objects but not underneath them, and they did not have the level of detail that was expected for a deep clean. This deep clean included cleaning the fridge except, they only cleaned the literal edges of the fridge shelf. Not the inside of the refrigerator. They did not wipe down the kitchen cabinets well and my tall pantry doors were sprayed but not wiped down. So they left giant spray marks of yellow on them. There are still markings/stains on my wooden floors from where they apparently mopped. For a 1000 square foot condo, they finished in less than 2 hours, which is surprising. My house is now half-ass clean and reeks of pine-sol. Definitely do not recommend and will not consider this service again. If this is what their deep clean service provides, I can't even imagine what a cop-out the regular cleaning would be. read more

I paid for a super deep cleaning and received a light cleaning. Val's offered to come back out and do another cleaning and I declined - just get it right the first time. Based on the number of reviews with similar comments it seems like they're betting that not everyone will request additional labor to come back and do the job properly. They also do not tell you how many hours cleaning you will receive, because their pricing is based on the services you get. Then when you don't receive the proper quality of those services, they offer to come back. It's just a hassle. read more

Hired Val's to do a deep clean of a recently purchased condo prior to moving in. The additional "deep cleaning" part of the service included cleaning of window sills, floorboards, and the insides of oven, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and cabinets. When we arrived back at the unit to check the cleaner's work, we found numerous areas that were either cleaned poorly or missed and had to be cleaned. Examples include: inside of multiple cabinets (a simple swipe of the hand found dust and/or crumbs on our hands), inside of oven, outside and underneath microwave, 50% of the window sills in the unit, and floorboards missed in at least 40% of the rooms. After a while, we stopped pointing out areas missed and resorted to cleaning it ourselves. Overall, I would not recommend Val's services for a deep clean or surface cleaning of my home or any of my friends' homes. I will say the cleaning lady that was there was friendly. Answers to my questions prior to the cleaning were answered promptly. read more
