I am writing this review to warn others about my incredibly frustrating and costly experience with JBA Cleaning. While the cleaning itself was satisfactory, the company's business practices are deceptive, unprofessional, and, in my opinion, fraudulent.
The first red flag was the team's punctuality. They arrived approximately 45 minutes late without any prior notification. While this was a minor inconvenience, it was unfortunately a sign of the unprofessionalism to come.
The most significant issue began with the pricing. I was initially given a quote of around $200. However, this price mysteriously began to climb. It was first raised to $450, and by the time the cleaning was finished, the final bill was a shocking $750. This is a classic bait-and-switch, and the lack of transparency in their pricing is completely unacceptable.
To be fair, the two employees who performed the cleaning did a good job. They worked hard for about 4.5 hours, and the overall quality of the cleaning was good. However, this single positive aspect was completely overshadowed by the nightmare that followed.
The payment process was a complete disaster. The staff insisted on being paid via Zelle. I sent an $800 payment through my Chase app, but it was marked as "pending review." I immediately contacted Chase and they assured me the payment would be approved and processed within a few hours. The staff member, however, refused to wait and demanded that I pay her in cash. She promised that once the Zelle payment cleared, she would return the $800 cash to me. Trusting her, I went to a Chase ATM, withdrew $800, and paid her in cash.
Later that same day, my Chase app confirmed that the Zelle transaction had been successfully delivered. However, when I contacted the staff member a few days later to get my cash back, she denied ever receiving the Zelle payment and insisted there must be a problem with the app. The company's position was that the customer is responsible for all financial risks, leaving me out $800.
After I said I would take a legal action, I was able to speak with a manager at JBA Cleaning. We reached a settlement agreement where both the manager and the staff member would contribute to repaying me. I was relieved, thinking the ordeal was finally over. Unfortunately, my relief was short-lived. Weeks passed, and I received no payment. When I contacted the staff member again, she gave me a string of excuses, from being busy with her kids to having COVID, to avoid paying the settlement. To this day, I have not received a single cent.
My experience with JBA Cleaning has been a complete nightmare. They are unprofessional, unethical, and have caused me significant financial loss and stress. I strongly urge anyone considering this company to look elsewhere. Avoid this fraudulent company at all costs

In response to the business's comments:
Your response is filled with inaccuracies and is an attempt to shift blame for your company's unprofessional behavior.
Let's be clear about your excuses. Your team was late for not finishing the previous work, not because of parking. Furthermore, the attempt to justify the outrageous price by fabricating stories about the apartment's condition is a low blow. The bottom line is that due to your company's actions, I was charged $1600 for a studio cleaning, which is indefensible.
The double-charge was a direct result of your staff's actions. She gave me an only option of Zelle, had me call my bank to personally approve the transaction, and then demanded cash with the promise of a refund. This was deceptive. I have bank records proving the Zelle payment was successfully delivered and accepted on Aug 8th (the cleaning day). Your refusal to acknowledge this and place all financial risk on the customer is unacceptable.
Instead of taking responsibility for your employee's conduct and your company's questionable payment practices, you are making excuses. My experience shows a pattern of deceptive pricing and a complete lack of accountability. read more
