After I moved house, I had so many rent-a-crates to unpack and return very quickly. I felt overwhelmed and couldn't move two feet without hitting a box, and unpacking by myself was too slow. I contacted Terri again. Terri couldn't come out to personally help me within my limited window of time, but she has fantastic team members. Kammy came to help me, stayed for just under five hours, and we unpacked every rent-a-crate plus all of the cardboard boxes! There is a little left to do in order to make my new place feel like home, but Kammy's help means that 95% of the work is done. I am so pleased with The Chicago Organizer. Terri and Kammy are kind, professional, quite fair in their pandemic requirements, and most of all -- HELPFUL. Money well spent again!

Stuff is really personal. Inviting someone into your home or business to go through your stuff and…read moremake sense of it, organize it, clear it out, declutter it, can be a harrowing experience for most people. Hiring a home organizer is a lot like hiring a personal fitness trainer - it's going to get real personal real fast. For that reason you have to be sure that you're getting the right person to work with. And what kind of person would that be? Well, the first thing that I look for is someone who totally "gets it!" Someone who's been through the chaos and come out the other side and understands that making order out of that chaos is as much a mental and emotional process as it is sorting through the stuff. So, I was delighted when, in my first conversation with Hannah Bonecutter about home organization, I got that tingling feeling that happens when you meet someone who is in the middle of their sweet spot, following their passion in a way that matches them perfectly. The way that Hannah engaged with the conversation was like a dog searching for a bone behind every bush and under every rock; nothing was left in a dark corner; everything got sniffed out and laid in the middle of the conversation and I could almost see her sorting through it mentally and stacking it up in a perfect pile to see what it was that was going on. Not only was there zero judgment about my mess, there wasn't any sense of dread or anxiety about the prospect of dealing with the chaos, and there was this pure sense that in her heart of hearts she was leaping for joy and saying "Finally, a challenge that's worthy of my capability!" Now that's a good feeling going into a de-cluttering experience! Maybe it's having such a big name to live up to, but Hannah Bonecutter was clearly made for this profession. She exudes a kind of confidence and power which is contagious. She's like the female version of Hercules confronting the Aegean stables: nothing is going to be overlooked in her attention to getting the job done. I may never appreciate ORDER the way that Hannah does - I'm one of those creative types who loves a sprawling mess to get my ideas moving - but I have a new appreciation for the goodness of order and why it was that creating order out of chaos was one of the first things the ancient gods did for human beings! Hannah Bonecutter doesn't just do organizing; it's in her nature to be that way!

I was quoted $375.00 which was for 3 people at 3 hours. That is 9hours of cleaning. Instead I got 2-3 hours which is about $100/ hr. In addition, many items were missed. When I contacted the manager/owner I was advised she would send them back out. This was after I had said I cleaned as I had guests coming. Total rip-off and lack of accountability. I would recommend you stay away from this company as they lack ethical standards in my opinion. Since my original review, I have been contacted and all my concerns have been addressed and I am very pleased with the revised response.

IS THIS HOW THEY KEEP THEIR FOUR STAR REVIEWS?…read more This has been an absolute nightmare. We hired You've Got Maids out of Orland Park, IL to do a "52 Point Deep Clean" of our home in preparation for guests over for Easter. We also planned on using them for bi-weekly cleans going forward. Upon scheduling our service with Denise, I was told to provide 3-4 hours for the maids to complete their work. The day they arrived, they were in our home for one hour and 20 minutes, which is verified by our security cameras. I saw that they had left from my online access point of my security cameras and contacted Denise questioning why the girls had already left. She said they finished early because she sent 4 employees instead of her original plan of 3. After returning home, I confirmed that not only had our home not received a deep cleaning, but it was barely surfaced cleaned. There was also damage done to our furniture including several scratches on our master bedroom nightstand and damaged done to our our toilet seat in our powder room. I immediately contacted the office and spoke with Denise again, letting her know our home was not deep cleaned and that damages were done to our home. She asked for pictures, which I provided over a dozen. She saw them agreed our home wasn't cleaned and damage was done and someone would be out to reclean our home the next day. She also said they had received previous complaints about on of the employees they sent to our home and that because of my complaint, this employee would be terminated. I got a call from her about an hour later saying she had no one to clean our home so she would refund us and would send an email confirmation of the transaction. She emailed me that she would refund $300 of the $400 I paid. I told her a partial refund was unacceptable and wouldn't even cover the damages done to our home, and that after further review of our security cameras, we have footage of her maids laughing about not having enough clean rags to clean our home. Our cameras captured one of her employees on a personal phone call on our porch screaming "ARE YOU DEAF! F*CK!" to whoever she was speaking to. Denise said that after seeing that footage, she would refund the full $400. I was satisfied with that. However, that night I received an email from her with a contract stating she would only refund my money if I signed a contract saying I wouldn't post any reviews of their company and if I did, they would take $1000.00 from me, which I believe is illegal according to the FTC Consumer Review Fairness Act. To be honest, I'd rather risk being out $400 and save fellow consumers from this nightmare. I whole-heartedly believe this is how they avoid negative reviews. I contacted their company headquarters and they stated that since the business is franchised, they couldn't help me. Edited to add: The manager commented below how "words can't express how truly sorry" she is. Words can express how "truly sorry" you are. The words are "I am refunding your money". You've chosen to keep my money unless I delete all reviews, which is an unethical and horrible business practice. Thank you to the many of you who have messaged me thanking me for saving them from the hassle of You've Got Maids. I've also received many messages from those who have shared a similar horrible experience with this company. The best thing you can do is write a review and share your honest experience. From one consumer to another, I hope this helps you!
