I was so surprised at how busy this place is , while I was there having lunch they had at least 13 carry out orders which I tho was a lot in a 35 minute span. It's rather small inside with only 5 tables . I had the Valley Beef which is one of their specialties and it was crispy tender beef in a spicy sweet sauce with shredded cabbage and a side of fried rice and egg roll, the beef was melt in your mouth tender and the dice was hot and had a nice flavor. Definitely worth the visit and another try for someone else. read more

First time trying this place and I was very impressed and will be a return customer. Fried rice: the chicken fried rice that comes with the meals has a generous portion of chicken and the size of the cubes is far bigger than other places. The darkness and taste of the rice is actually on par with the rice you would find down in st louis city which if you know is known for having the best fried rice in the country. St louis style fried rice Valley chicken: The Valley chicken itself was a great portion and had a good kick to it. Like a higher mild kick "personal opinion" for others it might be very spicy. None the less it was great and flavorful. The vegetables that came with it complemented the dish very well and there wasn't to many vegetables like other places often do. "I hate when places give you more vegetables than protein" The interior is a bit bland but I don't care about that The worker at the front was very nice and answered my two questions one of which was "what is Valley chicken" and I just decided after his explanation to go for it and I was not disappointed. The crab Rangoon were also really good. They weren't overcooked or undercooked and they had a nice crunch. I will be back to try many other things on the menu now. read more

Can't go wrong with the lunch special that comes with soup (egg drop or hot & sour), an egg roll, a Rangoon, fried or white rice, and your choice of meat entree. The soup was a little more orange than I'm used to (turmeric?) and the rice had a weird after taste but everything else was good. Can't really complain for less than $9 before tip. My step dad said this is his favorite Chinese restaurant near his place so we ordered all our favorites. He said he has never eaten in only take out which meant we went old school by calling and picking up. Food: everything was really good and what I wanted. I do not get good Chinese food in Houston and this was much needed. I love St. Paul sandwiches and only can get them in St. Louis. I picked the special because the price was amazing. It was filled with all the meats perfectly. I loved the crab rangoon they were filled and fried to perfection. I was not a big fan of the mini egg rolls they were lacking in filling and the fried wontons have mystery meat (I've never had one before). The rice was good filled with flavor and not greasy. Unlike many restaurants that installed plexiglass counter shields for COVID, Valley Wok just draped plastic sheeting around its counter and pushed the tables and chairs to the edges. You'll feel like you just walked into the middle of building renovation. My pork St. Paul sandwich was satisfactory, with a dollar added to the price for upscale Chesterfield Valley. Restaurants in St. Louis County, Missouri are required to have bathrooms for customers according to MissouriSection 196.210. But I guess Valley Wok doesn't know this law. We were in Chesterfield today and felt like having Chinese food after a hike. We planned to eat in but they did not let us use their bathrooms to wash our hands so we left. The customer service was much to be desired. The young man who took our order told us to go across the street to the McDonald's to use the restrooms there. The seating area was not very attractive but the surfaces were clean. We ended up taking the food to go and we ate at a nearby park. Weather was beautiful today. Food was okay, the garlic sauce was tasty. Didn't care for the undercooked peas. They seemed like they were from frozen. The rice was slightly mushy. This place seems to cater to the locals and mostly does take-out business. Don't go here if you want to eat in. Since we don't live in the area, we won't be back. read more

We are semi regulars at Valley Wok. It is not profound, but we find it acceptable and there simply are no great Chinese joints in West County. In the past year when I was travelling a lot, Ms T went here almost weekly for her Chicken and Broccoli. After a very recent visit for take-out, I thought an update was in order. She continues to have Chicken and Broccoli and I keep searching for a reliable favorite. In the past I have had Valley Pork and Hot Braised Chicken. I am still looking. I crave a dish with pork or chicken with a spicy brown sauce and plenty of vegetables. This time I noticed the Hunan Three Delights and asked about it when I ordered. I was told it had chicken, pork and beef with vegetables and a brown sauce. Perfect, so that is what I ordered, extra spicy. Ms T was satisfied with her Chicken and Broccoli and I was reasonably so with my Hunan Three Delights. This is not available in a half order, so the portion was huge. Honestly, with rice and an egg roll it would serve three people like us. I would not describe the sauce as brown, but it was not the sweet pancake syrup that I dislike, that so many Chinese dishes have these days. They did actually get some chile heat in it and I liked that the meats were all infused with some flavor. I love the vegetables and if I were to change anything on this it would be to add more sauce, reduce the meat and increase the vegetables. This is indeed made for American tastes. There was a ton of meat. I order brown rice with it which I liked for its chewy texture. I ate less than half and for leftovers a couple of days later, I added more of my own broccoli, mushrooms and chopped cabbage and really enjoyed it. Adding that made it grow so I ended up eating from this one order for four meals, all good. We always get a couple of eggrolls which are decent. This time I added an order of wings which were good, but extremely salty. I still see Valley Wok as a place that we will patronize and I am raising my rating from 2-1/2 stars to a solid three. That is still three on the scale, since I rounded up last time. I'm pretty sure I will order the Hunan Three Delights again. read more

This is by far the WORST Chinese food I've ever had. The sesame chicken comes in two parts and you have to construct the dish yourself. I also asked for fried rice and got plain white. Valley Wok is a great "Americanized" Chinese food joint in the Chesterfield Valley. The owners seem to be very friendly and courteous! What I love about this place is their crab rangoons. They are probably the best I've had in the St. Louis area. If you are an avid crab rangoon consumer like me, you've probably noticed there are two different types, sweet and salty. The ones at Valley Wok are sweeter, and I love it! They have changed my once salty-preferred crab rangoon taste buds to sweet! Another one of my favorites there is their lo mein. The noodles they use are the ones that I usually prefer for my lo mein. Most of the dishes I've tried there are pretty decent and since I have a family background of Chinese restaurant owners, that says a lot. read more

They have taken extra safety precautions for covid and transactions are handled safely but the food has not changed. They do have a menu on their website in Chinese and I'd love to know what's on it but since I don't read Chinese and there is no English I have no idea. I suspect that food is probably better than the standard menu. On this night I wasn't feeling so hot so I got an order of Crab Rangoon, a Quart of Hot n Sour Soup, and a can of ginger ale to go. It was $8 and some change. The soup was good but it was missing the slightest play of vinegar vs spice I'm looking for. I had reservations when I went to pick it up, and wouldn't necessarily recommend dining in, but we thought the food was good.

The wife and I stopped at Valley Wok hoping they had a vegan option for her and a "Springfield Style Cashew Chicken" for me. Well, they had both! And the food was amazing. My wife ordered the " vegetarian delight" and I ordered the "Fried Cashew chicken." My order was as close to the Springfield Style version as I have found in the St. Louis area. They actually put oyster sauce in the "brown sauce" that so many other places serve. Her vegetable delight dish "tasted very fresh," and the sauce was outstanding! The owners were there with her kids and all jumped in to help. They were very friendly. The restaurant itself isn't fancy, but it's clean. This place excels at what they do, provide tasty food for a low price. This is not a fine dining location but the food is as good as any other strip-mall Chinese food I have ever had. Some will think I am joking but I like Valley Wok better than PFC's and you can eat Valley Wok's food for around 15% of the cost. Those who say the service is bad confuse me. Maybe that is what they bring out of servers wherever they go. Maybe everyone else is not the problem and it is really you. I would love to say that I could judge this restaurant by the quality of their food, but thanks to substandard service and a hostess who has one heck of a love for violent yelling i was unable to place my order. I used to eat at Valley Wok at least once a week for the past 10 years. This week I ordered carry out egg foo young. When I got back to office the food was so full of large pieces of egg shells that I could not eat it. Whoever prepared it had to know they were in the dish. They were either too lazy or too cheap to start over, When I called to complain the owner had a variety of reasons why it was my fault their food was inedible, she would not apologize or do anything to make it tight. The food isn't bad but dining in is a recipe for mediocrity, complete with cheap less-than-clean furniture and kids of the staff running around bouncing a ball with their schoolwork spread out on one of the tables while the TV blares, oddly but not objectionably, a nature show on PBS. Does Valley Wok even have eat-in? I don't know, I have only ever ordered their delivery. The first thing you have to recognize, is that their food has only very little to do with China. I call this kind of food "Americanized Chinese Takeout", and it's a whole breed of it's own. Anyway, their food is greasy, and kinda scary if you look at it too objectively. So basically, everything cheap Chinese delivery ought to be. I love their crab rangoons, which appear not to actually contain any crab - but who doesn't love deep fried cream cheese wrapped in a won ton wrapper? Their egg drop soup is nasty, but their suspiciously syrupy hot and sour soup is delicious. I'm still going through their entrees. Their lo mein is pretty good, but I'm not super-fond of the flat noodles they use. There was something about their chow mein that I just didn't like, couldn't put my finger on it, but I can't recommend it. The mu shu pork is delicious, and happens to warm up great the next day. Their delivery is quite quick, but one time I asked for my "free wooden puzzle" (their menu has a coupon on it for a free wooden puzzle with a certain size order) and they forgot to include it. The following time they remembered, and I got a little balsa wood kit to make a pencil cup shaped like a horse. Interesting. Weird little gimmick, but I guess I was amused. read more

Valley Wok is a little eat in, delivery and carry out Chinese restaurant in the Chesterfield Valley. It is indeed Americanized Chinese food, but it is outstandingly delicious in its greasiness. I really like the chicken lo mein, the chicken fried rice, and the 'four precious jewels'. The interesting thing about this place is that they have a healthy section on their menu. The crab rangoon and the pot stickers are pretty good here, but are not any better or any worse than any other Chinese place. The prices are good and the service is fast and friendly. read more

Valley Wok is cheap and the delivery is fast. Two stars (or one) for the food. Up to three for the price and speedy delivery. Make sure to double check your order when the food arrives. We have received wrong items or something was missing about a third of the time. Valley Chicken, which is sufficiently spiced to obscure the "dated" chicken, and the lo mein are faves. I agree with the comment to not look too closely at the dishes. Just eat them and be happy. You can go in and order, but you want not want to. This was my second time to Valley Wok. The first time was so-so, maybe 21/2 stars but this time it was so bad I know I will never go again. I had Cashew Chicken, Pork fried rice, and Crab Rangoon. The Chicken was flavorless. the rice with the meal was just glop, sticky and wet. The Pork fried rice, while it looked good, was flavorless as well. The bright spot was the Crab Rangoon, while not the best I have had it at least tasted as it should, this is where the one star was earned since it was my wife's favorite item.
