The owners have limited the usefulness of this location. Even with the price increase the food is good. The location is limited because of lack of a/c, one restroom and now only bottled drinks are offered (no tea). Still good for to-go orders. read more

I had the orange chicken lunch special, which came with a rice choice and egg roll. The fried rice and egg roll were overcooked. The rice also lacked imagination, consisting mostly of rice and scrambled egg. My chicken was hot and moist and covered in thick, sweet, almost jelly-like orange sauce. Many local Chinese places don't have indoor dining during COVID. Thankfully, this one does. Tables aren't distanced but I suspect China Wok does more in takeout than dine-in. It's been a long time since we ordered Chinese food but we decided to try China Wok St. Peters. We ordered for delivery and it came at the time they said it would, and it was hot and delicious. Hubby had Egg Drop Soup, Special Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal, especially the soup. He also had leftovers, for a late night snack I feel sure. But maybe lunch tomorrow. I ordered the Appetizer, Fried Chicken but with no breading and a half order of Vegetable Fried Rice. The chicken was as ordered, so tender and very flavorful, just so yummy. This is the go-to Chinese restaurant for our family on Christmas every year and many other times throughout the year as well. I have a nostalgic love for this place and their food which is just so amazing and flavorful. I have never found another Chinese restaurant in all the places I've lived that could compare to this one. Our fav order is the crab Rangoon and chicken fried rice (with hot mustard drizzled on top!)- the prices are so cheap and the food goes far. I'm going to take my new husband for the first time this week so he can share in my love for this food! I ordered "Seafood Delight" which I ALMOST served to my family.. but the artificial crab was rotten.. which made the entire dish inedible. Tasted like moldy, old fish.. ew. The chicken chow mein tasted like it had been sitting in a fridge for a week. The hot and sour soup was like drinking/ eating GOOP. Like drinking the consistency of lotion. The appearance of The China Wok is small and dated and it definitely fits into the hole in the wall kind of Chinese restaurant, but the staff in the restaurant were nice, it was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. My husband ordered the hot braised pork and was very pleased with it we also really liked the pot stickers and crab rangoon. My husband ordered online and after an hour called to make sure they got the order. A man answered the call by saying "I'm on my way now" with a complete attitude. Of course my husband was pissed. Then the man proceeded to argue with my husband because my husband was angry with how he spoke to him. So my husband told him to keep the food. The hot and sour soup is like gravy, and actually tastes bitter, the noodles are salty, the orange chicken is literally pillows of fried lubber. On top of that everything that is fried turnsout burnt, or far too greasy. Even the rice is too far gone. They are more than likely not filtering their frier oil at all. We have tried this place 3 times now, and each time the food has been hot, fresh and flavorful. The general tso chicken is great! Sauce is thick, with a kick, but not too spicy. My husband gets the sweet and sour chicken, pretty typical of what you'd get at any Chinese place. My mom like the beef and broccoli. First off, my rice was very over cooked, and every few bites i would chew on something that felt like I was chewing on sand, and the onions was completely black and burnt.
