It's been a long time since we ordered Chinese food but we decided to try China Wok St. Peters. We ordered for delivery and it came at the time they said it would, and it was hot and delicious. Hubby had Egg Drop Soup, Special Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal, especially the soup. He also had leftovers, for a late night snack I feel sure. But maybe lunch tomorrow. I ordered the Appetizer, Fried Chicken but with no breading and a half order of Vegetable Fried Rice. The chicken was as ordered, so tender and very flavorful, just so yummy. I really appreciated their following my special request of no breading, as I have to watch my gluten consumption. And I have to say the Vegetable Fried Rice was the absolute best I have ever eaten! Chock full of broccoli florets, baby corn rounds, green bell pepper, sprouts, all the good stuff! I am a fan (4 star), however dining in the a/c doesn't override the heat, with only one restroom and my mom using a walker then giving 1 hour to order the lunch special with the now open time 1-10 pm. The owners have limited the usefulness of this location. Even with the price increase the food is good. The location is limited because of lack of a/c, one restroom and now only bottled drinks are offered (no tea). Still good for to-go orders. read more

A small, hole in the wall place with okay Chinese food but some good lunch values. China Wok has a variety of lunch meals under $6. I had the orange chicken lunch special, which came with a rice choice and egg roll. The fried rice and egg roll were overcooked. The rice also lacked imagination, consisting mostly of rice and scrambled egg. My chicken was hot and moist and covered in thick, sweet, almost jelly-like orange sauce. Many local Chinese places don't have indoor dining during COVID. Thankfully, this one does. Tables aren't distanced but I suspect China Wok does more in takeout than dine-in. This is the go-to Chinese restaurant for our family on Christmas every year and many other times throughout the year as well. I have a nostalgic love for this place and their food which is just so amazing and flavorful. I have never found another Chinese restaurant in all the places I've lived that could compare to this one. Our fav order is the crab Rangoon and chicken fried rice (with hot mustard drizzled on top!)- the prices are so cheap and the food goes far. I'm going to take my new husband for the first time this week so he can share in my love for this food! We received a tip about this place from the lady at The Chicken Coop, so glad we gave it a try. The appearance of The China Wok is small and dated and it definitely fits into the hole in the wall kind of Chinese restaurant, but the staff in the restaurant were nice, it was clean and we thoroughly enjoyed the food. My husband ordered the hot braised pork and was very pleased with it we also really liked the pot stickers and crab rangoon. My husband ordered online and after an hour called to make sure they got the order. A man answered the call by saying "I'm on my way now" with a complete attitude. Of course my husband was pissed. Then the man proceeded to argue with my husband because my husband was angry with how he spoke to him. So my husband told him to keep the food. Husband called back and spoke to a lady and told her to keep the food and refund our credit card. She clearly did not want to do either, my husband had to keep telling her over and over. Until today, I would have said, yeah, go eat at China Wok in St. Peters, it's pretty good. But I just received the rudest service I have ever had, and will never eat there again. If you can find any other chinese resturant i would encourage you to do so. The hot and sour soup is like gravy, and actually tastes bitter, the noodles are salty, the orange chicken is literally pillows of fried lubber. On top of that everything that is fried turnsout burnt, or far too greasy. Even the rice is too far gone. They are more than likely not filtering their frier oil at all. I had the Mongolian Beef. ALL of the meat was chewy. It was definitely low grade meat. Tasted OK but the texture was yuck. The Sweet & Sour Chicken had to have been twice cooked. We have tried this place 3 times now, and each time the food has been hot, fresh and flavorful. The general tso chicken is great! Sauce is thick, with a kick, but not too spicy. My husband gets the sweet and sour chicken, pretty typical of what you'd get at any Chinese place. My mom like the beef and broccoli. The only reason I came here was because the Chinese place I always go to was closed. I ordered beef fried rice and crab rangoons. First off, my rice was very over cooked, and every few bites i would chew on something that felt like I was chewing on sand, and the onions was completely black and burnt. Second, my crab Rangoon's has zero crab. It was only cream cheese and mostly wonton. My sister got the egg roles and there was nearest anything in there. I will not be returning. read more
