    C7 garlic sc

I've been craving Chinese food for awhile and was so glad I finally got my fix. It was so good! I got the general tsos chicken with fried rice and a side of sweet and sour sauce and my boyfriend got the "c7 garlic sc." and both were good but he likes mine more as his chicken was not fried like he thought. The menu is not very descriptive so be aware of that. I knew I'd like the general tsos chicken so this didn't affect me but it might be a problem for others as there isn't much information online. We also had the crab Rangoon which was SO good dipped in the sweet and sour sauce (it's an extra dollar for the sweet and sour sauce but they give you a huge container of it so it's well worth it-we had a lot left) We ordered online for a carry out order and it was ready and hot on time. I can't wait to go back!

Summary: This Chinese take-out covers the standard dishes but compromises personal info with its COVID response. Like many local indie Asian restaurants China King has had an aggressive response to COVID. And while many--most--local restaurants have reopened their dining rooms, CK hasn't. The order counter has thick plexiglass nearly to the ceiling. To be understood through it customers must shout personal info like their names and phone numbers for pick-up orders. A newly installed temporary wall in the dining room includes a makeshift door with a window. Cash, credit cards, and orders are passed through the opening. Despite these virus precautions for the staff, the small space makes it difficult for more than three diners waiting on orders to socially distance. Chairs for waiting sit next to each other. While waiting on my St. Paul sandwich CK did a brisk business in pickup orders. The sandwich was fluffy inside with a thin, crispy outside.

I was looking forward to those place because it has great reviews. Unfortunately we found the food lacking. The Honey Chicken in the photo I posted was about 60%-70% breading. The entire batch was like that. It's like they took the shreds of chicken from the chicken fried rice and triple battered them. The crab fried rice was also unappetizing. General Tso's was sweet and almost ketchup like. Crab Rangoon was gelatinous and not flavorful. Sorry for the bad review I don't do them very often but I went out of my way to order this due to the good reviews and they did not live up.

The piece of cashew "chicken" next to the breading.

Very good food, generous portions. We came in and placed a takeout order. Food was ready in less than 10 minutes, piping hot and delicious.

It's good in a pinch for take out. Not a place that I would recommend for eating in, it's a small place. Service is good.

Food is fine. Not great, not terrible. But they follow instructions relatively well and deliver so that's a plus.

Typically Chinese fast food take out or pick up. Reasonable prices for standard quality. Nothing to write home to mom about.

The restaurant itself is cozy and simple, but don't let the size fool you--this place is focused on serving very good food. The highlight of the visit was the soup dumplings, which arrived in a bamboo steamer basket. The dumplings were tender and delicate, and each one was filled with rich consommé (soup) and flavorful meat. When you bite into them, be careful because the dumplings are full of hot broth that bursts out. The soup inside was packed with flavor and made the dumplings stand out. The sandwiches were also excellent. Whether you choose the pork or the beef, the bread was perfectly crunchy and the meat inside was very flavorful. It made for a great balance of texture with the crispy bread and tender meat. Another dish that really stood out was the mashed cucumber salad with hot pepper oil. It was fresh, slightly spicy, and very refreshing alongside the dumplings and sandwiches. Overall, Fan's Soup Dumplings feels like a hidden gem in St. Charles. It's a small restaurant that focuses on doing a few dishes very well, and the quality of the food really shows. Overall: A small but very good restaurant serving authentic soup dumplings, excellent sandwiches, and flavorful sides. If you are in St. Charles and enjoy dumplings or Asian cuisine, it is definitely worth a visit.

We ordered the cumin beef, twice cooked pork, beef noodle soup, fish in chili oil, and also a beef pho (not pictured because we started eating it right away). The twice cooked pork was my favorite. Really flavorful pork belly with leeks and chili, a little smoky from the wok, and perfect with rice. I'd go back just for that dish. The cumin beef was also great -- lots of cumin and spices with crispy bits of beef. The fish in chili oil came in a huge bowl packed with dried chilies, garlic, and peppercorns. Definitely spicy but really good if you like Sichuan-style dishes. The beef noodle soup was comforting and hearty, and the beef pho was solid too -- good broth and a big bowl. It's a pretty casual setup since it's inside the grocery store, but the food is legit and the portions are generous. The #17 noodles, no protein is my absolute go-to FAVORITE dish along with the sauteed green beans and their plain fried rice is better than their shrimp fried rice. I love that they offer whole and half duck. I have to try the crispy pork that hangs along side the duck in addition to the duck. Also the prices are reasonable and the portion size is nice. They have a great menu offering and even sell cold dishes on the outside of the register in the display case, such as: sushi and vegan duck. See my pics attached to my review for Pan Asia

We were seated immediately, which we appreciated because we were tired and hungry. Since we already have our favorite dishes at Cate Zone, we knew exactly what to order as soon as our server came by. Our go‑to appetizer is always the beef tripe -- non‑spicy -- and it never disappoints. We always enjoy it with a bowl of rice, and the combination is incredibly comforting and flavorful. We also ordered the crisp shrimp with egg yolk, which is my 6‑year‑old son's absolute favorite. It's unbelievably tasty -- rich, crispy, and just out‑of‑this‑world good. For our last dish, we tried the crisp sautéed pork for the first time. This one didn't quite hit the mark for us. The flavor leaned sweet and salty with no spice, and it didn't have the same wow factor as the crisp shrimp we love so much. Still, it was worth trying something new. All our dishes came with a bowl of hot, steaming white rice, and everything arrived at our table in under 10 minutes -- their speed is impressive. The portions were generous, and we left completely full with leftovers to take home. Cate Zone continues to be one of our favorite spots, and experiences like this are exactly why we keep coming back.
