Shrimp with vegetables plater with white rice and crab Rangoon
Dave F.

$10 meals with crab Rangoon was good on this Sunday... The service was quick with ordering, making (fresh) plus giving my lunch. The ambiance is basic with a few tables and chairs in front of the counter for ordering and food. There is a cooler on the side for specialty drinks. The OK rating is based on the amount of food given and the variety of vegetables... where is the mushrooms and other vegetables? I am used to sharing a meal with my mom, but I paid more for less. I see this place as a decent back-up for an emergency Sunday place to grab some average Chinese food.

My dads favorite Chinese spot! Right off Mexico and midrivers. My opinion they have good days and bad. But love their crab Rangoons and chicken teriyaki on a stick. Quick service which I love!

During COVID times a child's bottomless toy bucket serves as a pass-through in the plastic curtain for order payments.
Michael S.

A walk-in order of beef fried rice was served hot and quickly. There were ample beef and veggie pieces mixed throughout the rice. However, it all was a bit chewy. In these COVID times there's no inside dining at Lucky China. Tables and chairs have been piled on top of each other to provide floor space for random blue 'Xs' that show customers where to stand for social distancing. A ceiling-to-counter, semi see-through curtain partly divides the public space from the kitchen. A children's plastic bucket with the bottom cut out serves as a pass-through to provide your payment. Orders come out through a flap. Perplexingly, despite these precautions there's an open walkway directly into the kitchen.

Mold on orange peels
Maranda H.

We have been ordering delivery from Lucky China at least once a month sometimes twice for over a year. Usually the food is really good, hot, and quick delivery. Last night per usual I ordered Orange Chicken, and the orange peels in with sauce had mold on them. What kind of cook either doesn't recognize or doesn't care that half of the orange peels put in the sauce were moldy? They would not be receiving this review if they would have had the courtesy to speak to my husband about this ( he placed the order, and tried to contact them, finally sending a text which was ignored). I hear the restaurants are having a hard time keeping customers, I guess losing our business is no big deal. If you get food from them, check it carefully before eating it.

My go to for Chinese in St. Peters. Get the chicken and broccoli with spicy garlic sauce instead. Game changer.

The regular soup dumplings needed the vinegar or soy to add flavor, otherwise they would be too bland. The boba cup was filled with ice. I haven't had that before and felt that took away from the flavor, watering it down quickly. Less good: looking at photos of the place months ago, it looked nicer. The condiments containers were different. Now vinegar and soy are in plastic squeeze bottles that are not wiped clean after each use, so they're gunky and sticky around the tops. Even when eating in, some food is served in disposable containers. We had Dixie plates instead of regular plates. (Maybe we shouldn't really need plates?) The big colorful menu with pictures was no longer there so I wasn't sure what to order as it was my first time there. We went with their recommendations. We would certainly go back and try new things. I hope they make it.

If you're looking for authentic soup dumplings in St. Charles, Fan's Soup Dumplings is a small…read morerestaurant that delivers big flavor. The restaurant itself is cozy and simple, but don't let the size fool you--this place is focused on serving very good food. The highlight of the visit was the soup dumplings, which arrived in a bamboo steamer basket. The dumplings were tender and delicate, and each one was filled with rich consommé (soup) and flavorful meat. When you bite into them, be careful because the dumplings are full of hot broth that bursts out. The soup inside was packed with flavor and made the dumplings stand out. The sandwiches were also excellent. Whether you choose the pork or the beef, the bread was perfectly crunchy and the meat inside was very flavorful. It made for a great balance of texture with the crispy bread and tender meat. Another dish that really stood out was the mashed cucumber salad with hot pepper oil. It was fresh, slightly spicy, and very refreshing alongside the dumplings and sandwiches. Overall, Fan's Soup Dumplings feels like a hidden gem in St. Charles. It's a small restaurant that focuses on doing a few dishes very well, and the quality of the food really shows. Overall: A small but very good restaurant serving authentic soup dumplings, excellent sandwiches, and flavorful sides. If you are in St. Charles and enjoy dumplings or Asian cuisine, it is definitely worth a visit.

We…read moreordered for delivery and it came at the time they said it would, and it was hot and delicious. Hubby had Egg Drop Soup, Special Fried Rice and an Egg Roll. He thoroughly enjoyed his meal, especially the soup. He also had leftovers, for a late night snack I feel sure. But maybe lunch tomorrow. I ordered the Appetizer, Fried Chicken but with no breading and a half order of Vegetable Fried Rice. The chicken was as ordered, so tender and very flavorful, just so yummy. I really appreciated their following my special request of no breading, as I have to watch my gluten consumption. And I have to say the Vegetable Fried Rice was the absolute best I have ever eaten! Chock full of broccoli florets, baby corn rounds, green bell pepper, sprouts, all the good stuff! If you have a hankering for some really tasty Chinese Food, I highly recommend China Wok to satisfy your craving. Can hardly wait to order again!

Food -- excellent! I ordered the broccoli and beef with white rice and an egg roll. Some…read morerestaurants use cheaper or inferior ingredients, but not here! The beef was tender. As you can see in the photo, there were a decent number of pieces, and they were substantial. Broccoli was stir-fried perfectly, cooked with a slight crunch. The amount of sauce was suitable, enough to coat the food without being excessive. The sauce was not too thick, not runny, and not too salty. The rice was fine, and the portion was sufficient. The egg roll was crisp and not greasy. Food is served with a packet of sweet and sour sauce, a packet of soy sauce, and a packet of chili powder. Packaging -- food is served in a plastic bowl with a clear lid and placed a brown paper bag. Value -- excellent! The meal I ordered was a lunch special. You can choose: 1) one entree from 30 options 2) white or fried rice 3) 1 egg roll or 2 crab rangoon. The price for all of this is $8.75 before tax and tip. For $0.70 more, you can add hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Or for $1 more you can add wonton soup. All this to say, you can get a great lunch for about $10. Service -- great! The owner is nice. The speed of service is outstanding. The time it takes to get your food is as fast -- or even faster--than at fast food restaurants. Ambiance -- good. Almost all customers will order for carryout, but you can eat in the restaurant if you want. There are 3 or 4 tables. There is a fridge, if you want to order soda. Everything is clean. If you are looking for fine dining or a date night, you might be disappointed. But otherwise, the interior is perfectly fine. I highly recommend Emperor China!
