Winter is a very bleh time, this week of grey skies had me craving some comfort food. I have been craving Chinese food, hot and sour soup sounded good. Did a quick Yelp search and found a new place to explore: Emperor China. Did Grubhub delivery through Prime. Ordered the crab Rangoon, fried dumplings, hot & sour soup, and Bourbon chicken with fried rice. The food was so good! Not sure if I was just craving it so it was extra good, or if it is really this good. The fried rice had more onion in it than I like, but easily picked around. I may go with the regular white rice next time. But if you like onion, then it would probably be fine. Stop by and check them out, order delivery, or send a friend to pick it up -- you will not be disappointed! read more

Food -- excellent! I ordered the broccoli and beef with white rice and an egg roll. Some restaurants use cheaper or inferior ingredients, but not here! The beef was tender. As you can see in the photo, there were a decent number of pieces, and they were substantial. Broccoli was stir-fried perfectly, cooked with a slight crunch. The amount of sauce was suitable, enough to coat the food without being excessive. The sauce was not too thick, not runny, and not too salty. The rice was fine, and the portion was sufficient. The egg roll was crisp and not greasy. Food is served with a packet of sweet and sour sauce, a packet of soy sauce, and a packet of chili powder. Packaging -- food is served in a plastic bowl with a clear lid and placed a brown paper bag. Value -- excellent! The meal I ordered was a lunch special. You can choose: 1) one entree from 30 options 2) white or fried rice 3) 1 egg roll or 2 crab rangoon. The price for all of this is $8.75 before tax and tip. For $0.70 more, you can add hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Or for $1 more you can add wonton soup. All this to say, you can get a great lunch for about $10. Service -- great! The owner is nice. The speed of service is outstanding. The time it takes to get your food is as fast -- or even faster--than at fast food restaurants. Ambiance -- good. Almost all customers will order for carryout, but you can eat in the restaurant if you want. There are 3 or 4 tables. There is a fridge, if you want to order soda. Everything is clean. If you are looking for fine dining or a date night, you might be disappointed. But otherwise, the interior is perfectly fine. I highly recommend Emperor China! read more

This place is a MUST in the St. Peter's area. No where else comes close. Ordered the general tso chicken dinner combo with fried rice and crab rangoons. General tso chicken was fried crispy and still had a good amount of tender chicken inside. Sauce was flavorful and a the slightest hint of spice. The fried rice is the closest thing to real St. Louis City Chinaman rice. IYKYK. The rice was dark but did not have a dirty or burnt taste. Crab rangoons were better than most. Some of the best delivery Chinese I ever had. Vegetables were fresh, nicely cooked, Kung Pao had plenty of peanuts and the chicken spicy. Wife has Hunan and same thing: Veggies were great. Will never come here again. From the start it was just.... Bad. For some reason this place was very busy when I showed up to pick up my call in order, maybe it was just the dinner rush? I find it hard to believe it was truly for the food. But who knows... it took a good 40 minutes past my scheduled pickup time to get my order. I was then told that they didn't accept amex, this usually wouldn't be a big deal but I only had my amex. After finding a second form of payment, I eagerly took my order home. I am an absolute sucker for kung pao shrimp. So, this is of course what I ordered. I have never seen them like this. There were maybe 8 medium sized shrimp in the "whole" order. The rest was occupied by incredibly bland vegetable. The sauce was flavorless. Once I got to the shrimp, it was an instant regret. They tasted spoiled. That initial disappointment in the amount of shrimp had now morphed into a type of grateful sadness wherein i was now morning the entire decision to order from this establishment for dinner. My friend moved around the corner from them and one lunch we decided to order their combo meal which is a hearty helping of either white or fried rice, crab Rangoon, or soup with your choice of a main dish. I ordered the honey chicken with fried rice and 2 crab Rangoons. We've ordered for delivery numerous times and have never been disappointed, always on time or surprisingly fast! Been frequenting this restaurant for many, many years. My family believes it to be the best carry-out Chinese in St.Peters. We've tried them all. (Ho's comes in 2nd). Agreeing with the other post, not particularly friendly, but the food is very good. And pretty quick. Never had delivery, though. Always pick-up. They will make an ingredient adjustment to suit our tastes; like leaving out mushrooms or using unbreaded chicken in a dish that usually has breaded chicken or pork. Best Chinese Food I've had in a long time! My wife and I live in Leawood, KS and were visiting family in St. Charles, MO. One night in our hotel room we were hungry for some Chinese food, so we decided to take our chances on this place. BOY WERE WE GLAD WE DID! Best Lo Mein, Fried Rice and Sesame Chicken I've had in years! Even the egg rolls were fantastic and usually egg rolls are just plain bland in my opinion. As far as the service goes I'm not sure what some people are talking about. The lady at the front counter was as nice as could be and they had our order ready way ahead of time. My only complaint......you guys have ruined my favorite Chinese Food joint in Kansas City. :) A+++++!!!! We will definitely be seeing you guys again next time we are in town! WORST SERVICE EVER!!!!!!!!!!! Called to place a to go order. Once the order was placed she simply hung up. No wait time, total or anything. Waiting 45 min and called back. They said 15 more minutes. Waited 30 MORE minutes and called back again. They said 5 more minutes. After about 15 more min They said they would give me a refund because there drivers car broke down. They then offered to send another driver. Soooo we waited again for 30 more minutes and the food arrived. Driver has no receipt for me. AND the food is horrible. Tasteless and just plain nasty! Food is good, however they are messed up there. Their website offers the ability to order and pay online, which we did. However on the foods arrival, the driver tried to hit us up for the bill. We produced a paid receipt from their online site, yet they said we still needed to give our credit card number to them, which we refused. My husband spoke to the owner on the phone, explaining we had a receipt showing it was paid, but the driver then asked for the food back. We wouldn't give the food back, unless they gave us the cash back, at which time the foolish driver attempted to enter our home to get the food. ZERO STARS!! I ordered shrimp fried rice and it was old!!! I called to complain and the owner yelled and hung up on me!! I drove back and he was irate telling me that he was not refunding my order. He grabbed a handful of the rice and I thought he was going to throw it at me. 2 customers were in the restaurant at the time and stood up and even said the way he was speaking to me was unacceptable!!! I called to tell them I was missing a Hot Braised Chicken and first the person who answered the phone said I didnt talk to her that I talked to a "man". Then as I said I didnt receive a portion of my food she says "I read your order back" I said yes and it was fine and you missed the 2nd order of Hot Braised Chicken and she put me on hold and continued to go off on me in her language and came back and againsaid I read the order back to you and I said fine I will not order from you again and hing up.
