I was in, ordered, and out with my St. Paul pork sandwich in under five minutes. That speed affected quality, however. Cooking oil heated too high seared the egg foo yung patty practically all the way through. The egg mixture was mostly crispy with barely any unfried texture or taste. Mayo was lazily applied as a dollop to the patty rather than evenly spread over the bread. New China has the usual standard Chinese fast food menu. The dining room was open. Best Chinese food in Ofallon, MO! The family that owns it are very nice and they always make amazing food at a fair price. Every meal that I've tried is full of flavor and filling. I can usually have 2 separate meals from a single serving. The Singapore Mei Fun has become one of my absolute favorite dishes. I also love the chicken and broccoli. My youngest son's go-to meal is the Orange Chicken. He practically begs for it weekly. I can appreciate how long they've been in business as well and they have become a staple in the O'Fallon area. If you're ever in town on the Main St side of Hwy K, I highly recommend trying them out! read more

This is our usual Chinese delivery place, and we're very happy with it. Delivery is usually faster even than promised. I seem to remember the food being better in years past, but it's still good. My usual order is either the shrimp fried rice or the cashew chicken, and my husband usually gets the Szechuan chicken. I've liked everything I've ordered here. Their hot and sour soup is especially good, and it's my favorite thing to eat when I have a cold. I'm not a huge fan of the crab rangoon (it's a little too sweet for my taste), but everything else I've tasted here has been great. read more

Delicious!!! Second time ordering from here, the first I had the flu & their food brought me back to life, it's just as delicious the second time! I've ordered the same thing both times: chicken chop suey and egg drop soup with wonton. I've never had wonton in my egg drop soup, it's fantastic! The veggies are fresh and crispy. All in all, the food is excellent as compared to other Chinese take-outs in the O'Fallon, MO area. Everything is very fresh tasting. When they tell your order will be ready in 10 minutes it is! If you don't expect any resemblance of personality from the staff, you won't be disappointed. Now my only real issue is with spice level! I always as for mine EXTRA spicy and as with all O'Fallon, MO Chinese take-outs they don't comply with my request. This "used" to be our "go-to" place for Chinese food because it was really good. Don't know what has happened over the past year or so but down hill fast. Egg rolls are now the microwaveable. We have some in our freezer that are better than the ones we now get from New China. Yesterday we ordered vegetable lo mein, we were given pork lo mein. The pork was not good. As I cited above the egg rolls are simply just mushy and bad. The sesame chicken was mushy. Whatever my husband ordered, sent him to the bathroom. We called to seek a refund of our $30+. They initially refunded $12. Went to the restaurant, they refunded $17. They know who we are in that we frequent but that has come to an end. Sad in that New China used to have really great food. Poor quality. I've eaten there since they opened but the past year the food quality has gone down hill. I think they are under new management , it used to be good. The last egg roll I ate was spoiled and tasted rancid. Had to throw it out. I had a stomach ache all evening was afraid I would get food poising. Don't think the health dept. has been there lately. Would not refund money after I placed an order saying I had a severe pepper allergy and peppers were in my food. I had an allergic reaction. Asked for me to bring food in to prove it, and I offered to send a picture as I don't live close to the restaurant. Only Chinese restaurant on the North end of OFallon. The location is extremely convenient and I love that. I often get the fried dumplings, which I love. You can't really mess those up. I also get shrimp fried rice very often- also good, but hard to mess up as well. I would give it four stars if the orange chicken wasn't so weird and chewy. Not sure if it's a different style of orange chicken, but it's not great. read more

I think that if this wasn't the only Chinese restaurant near us, I wouldn't like it quite as much. But, it's O'Fallon and my standards are low, so every once in awhile (when my husband and I really don't feel like cooking) we'll eat here instead. It's not terrible. I enjoy the General Tso's Chicken and they always seem to have some sort of special where we end up with copious amounts of Crab Rangoon for no apparent reason. They do not deliver and the restaurant itself is a little sparse, so I think New China expects to be take out only. Staff is nice and helpful, and there's never a long wait. In fact, I'm always afraid they might close and we'll end up having to drive down Hwy K (the horror, the horror) to get some easy, fast Chinese grub. read more

Average place. Food is ok until your stomach tells you otherwise and the next thing you know your on the toilet. Their chicken on a stick was slimy and just a fired chicken on a stick. They make excellent egg foo young. The gravy is a little light but not too light, the sweet and sour chicken is great, I like how they put the sauce on the side to give you the option of how much you want on a piece. Hot and sour soup is excellent with a good amount of mushrooms and tofu but could be a bit hotter, I may see if I can order it hotter next time I go in. Always happy personable people working and I like looking back into the kitchen to see whats happening but glad I cant see everything read more

The food was horrible and unseasoned. The meat was at the least sparse it was rice and well that was it. we called to ask if the Lo Mein had little corns and they said yes 5 min. before we ordered. I guess the customers are paying for them having no sales cause of corona. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else, yes it was that bad. read more

We are recent to the area. This is the closest Chinese place to us, so I tried it for lunch. I'm not a foodie, but I do like good Chinese food. I threw this in the trash. I had vegetable fried rice, the veggies were cheap frozen bagged little chunks. The fried rice was super salty, and tasted old and re-heated. The egg roll looked good, but was very greasy and stiff like it had been microwaved. Update: decided to give it another try and things were better. General Tso's Chicken was good, a little mild but good. The portion was generous, with the rice and egg roll it was enough for 2 lunches. Egg roll was better than first try, too. The vegetables in the fried rice are still the frozen kind but the rice was fresh. When I absolutely have to have Chinese it satisfies the craving. read more
