My experience has been very smooth. 2 guys Miguel and Jose came right on time. Made sure the surfaces are covered since heavy stuff was removed. Quietly and efficiently they installed the furnace and heat pump for me. They are knowledgeable and made sure to communicate their work to me. Also setup my thermostat and explained it to me. Our air conditioning went out on Friday July 5, during the heat wave that hit the Bay Area a week or so ago. Of *course* that's when it would go out, right? When we needed it most. We have used Valley Heating, Cooling, Electrical and Solar before (back when their name was just "Valley Heating and Cooling"), so when the system went out with the error message: "82-Thermal Lockout 4 Hours (Code: 82)" I called them late on Friday afternoon. Unfortunately, their first opening was August 1! So I called a couple of other companies, and got a booking for Tuesday July 9. Happily though, I got an email and text message early this morning (Monday July 8) saying Valley had an opening today. I did some internet searching, and also talked to Sandium and ABS (Always Better Service - Bob Hall and his crew do excellent work) and the consensus that it was likely the start-up capacitor for the compressor. So as for who to choose, it came down to who could come the soonest because trying to sleep in this house when it is 83 degrees is very difficult. I've not done business yet with Sandium but they were super responsive and I'd use them in the future; ABS installed my Carrier Infinity system back in 2015-2016 and have done maintenance; and Valley used to maintain a system at this house for my mother back in the 1980's - 2000, and have also done service on the current system. When Steve and David showed up, I really hoped that they had a capacitor to replace the old one, because I hadn't sent them the error code since they weren't going to be able to come for 3 weeks. After their diagnostics were done, they agreed that the capacitor was the culprit. And the best part is that they had the part! Steve and David were both excellent in all ways - friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. I had met Steve the summer before when they had to add refrigerant and already really liked him. Now I like David just as much. So, in a matter of a little more than 30 minutes, from the time they pulled up to my house to the time they drove away, they fixed my HVAC system. What's not to love about that? Oh, and they put on bootie covers when they come in the house, so that's another point in their favor. At the end of the day, I believe that there are a number of reputable, honest hard working HVAC companies out there, but in this case, Valley came to my rescue, and I'm grateful for that. We recently had our very old forced air heater (gas) replaced after it failed, and opted to buy a Lennox Ductless Heat Pump System, that also gives us, for the first time, AIR CONDITIONING! We purchased through Costco (great rebates!) and are so grateful that Valley Heating is their sole HVAC contractor in the Valley. We couldn't have asked for better! We had the best team of four doing our installation, in half the time predicted. José, Uleses, Rances, and Melvin were consummate professionals: on time, great communication, kept the work area picked up throughout the day, and finished ahead of schedule. We had two HVAC units go down at our business site just prior to when we were to have a scheduled maintenance visit for them. One is brand new and the other one is pretty old; Valley had been helping us maintain these for a few years. Our last two experiences with Valley were less than stellar, to say the least, and we thought about ceasing doing business with them despite having had maintenance contracts with them for a long time at prior business sites. This time, Valley sent us a tech named John Rangel who apparently has been with Valley for a few years. This was our first experience dealing with him. John showed up early and was very professional, proficient and efficient during his entire time spent dealing with our HVAC units. John took the time to really investigate what could be causing BOTH units to not function; especially since one unit was barely used and brand new. John determined what was wrong in both cases and fixed the issue within a short period of time. We were really happy with what he did for us today and hope we will be able to request his aid regularly (for the maintenance aspect) from now on. We just completed a new ducted HVAC installation on our house that was built in the 1950's. Zac Farmer, the agent who came out to give us an estimate, was very patient with us as we had several companies come out to provide a job proposal, and was willing to explain the ins and outs of the job as well as the equipment that would be used even on a holiday! My husband and I were referred to this company by our 2 uncles that live in Fremont and San Jose, so we weren't entirely entering a large transaction with an unknown company, but we are so happy that we committed to this project with "Valley Heating and Cooling" for the quality of work/overall price tag wrapped with electrical upgrade/equipment/professionalism. What was originally a 5 day project, was completed in 3 days! A group of 4 led by Jose Parra would arrive to our home between 8am-10am and finish around 4pm each day. The past 3 days were pouring rain, but everyone continued to work diligently. With a 3.5 year old and a new baby on the way, I was also quite impressed by how they would also clean throughout their workday which I truly appreciated as I was concerned about being exposed to all the dust/insulation from our attic. Jose Parra was also very thoughtful as he inspected the functionality of the heating and cooling of each room as well as the new baby's room. During the final walk through he was very patient with me and answered all my questions regarding trouble shooting/changing filters/ and when to inquire servicing of our new HVAC system. So far we've had our heater on during the coarse of the night, and we all slept comfortably. I also periodically checked baby's room to ensure it wasn't too hot or too cold. A good review for a service business is when you can judge them when things go well, and wrong.... I recently had my Condo's AC system totally replaced. It was an ugly job, requiring opening up the ceiling in my closet to remove the old internal Air Handler, as well as getting my external Compressor replaced. The condo had build the closet around the Air Handler, so it needed to be opened up to remove and install a new one. Valley quoted the work, in detail. I appreciate line item quotes for the exact work. Prices charged were fair market for material and labor. Every aspect of the job was handled professionally with excellent customer service. Nothing but praise for the whole CS team. Updates for tech arrivals were texted, and they showed up per agreements. Work was done professionally, despite several, shall we say, quirks of the condo build. By the agreed completion date, Robert and his team had a wonderful new efficient AC unit up and running. Then it leaked! When we had a HERS test, the tech took a shower when he opened the access hatch. So, why is this a 5* review? I was on the phone with them as soon as this happened, and I kid you not, within *20 minutes*, a team was in my condo, led by the lead installer troubleshooting and fixing the issue. (The core issue was drainage condo piping not flowing efficiently). About an hour later, good to go. During inspection they said heater has to be replaced because the heater capacity has to match the air conditioner, otherwise the air conditioner will need a higher capacity and that will lead to bigger bills. Both heater and A/C were installed. It has been 1.5 years and both heater and A/C are working flawlessly. The bills are reasonable. Their work was fast and efficient. Their rates were little on the higher side but their work is very good they give peace of mind. They gave text reminders and updates about the technician. My technician was Noe. I had a unique situation where I couldn't be at the house, so I needed them to coordinate with my real estate agent to let him into the house. They easily accommodated my situation. After the job was done, the technician texted me with all the details and emailed me an invoice, that I conveniently paid online. In general, I would say we are happy with Valley and would call them again. They are very professional and responsive with regards to getting the job done. They also offer multiple discounts for immediate installation, senior rate, and cash payment, which was awesome. We had to get HOA approval, and our HOA was very nit-picky. The tech we worked with was very accommodating and responded right away to those requests so we could install sooner rather than later. When it came to questions (and I had a lot of them), they were thorough but only communicative via text. I tried calling the tech several times because I wanted to make sure we only needed an AC replacement and not the furnace and understand the differences, but he only texted back. Once the installation date was confirmed, I didn't receive anymore responses from him, so I ended up calling the office for questions. On the day of the installation, the photo of the tech they sent didn't look like the main person who was communicating with me on the day of, so I was a bit confused. They were both very nice and professional though. They did finish the job 2-3 hours later than they said they would (both on paper and verbally), but these things happen. I think the communication could be better, which is what everyone else on here raved about, but it could very well vary from tech to tech. It may be because the communication is mainly through the techs, and they are probably busy all day. Overall, they are not perfect, but we would definitely call them again, and hopefully, the communication will be better next time! read more

My wife and I woke up on Wednesday to a cold house and a heater that was blowing cold air. I contacted Valley Heating, since I have had previous experience with them, and asked if they could come and check it out. They came out the next morning and the repairman took a look at it, found the issue and fixed it. At that time he also recommended replacing the furnace because of the age of it and also felt his repair was just a temporary fix. Later that day when the furnace came on, it again started blowing cold air. I reached out again to Valley Heating and the sent an installation supervisor out to check it out. After researching the problem, he told us the heater wasn't going to work without replacing numerous parts and suggested it would be better to replace the unit. He also told us he didn't think the unit was safe to operate any long, so we had him shut it down. After thoughtful consideration, we decided that since the air conditioner unit and the furnace were both about the same age, very old, it might be best to replace both of them. We asked him to submit a quote to us for the cost of replacing both the furnace and the air conditioner. We told them we were interested in getting a two stage unit, since those were more efficient. Later that day he emailed a quote for us to look over. The next day we spoke with Valley Heating about the quote and about the units that were recommended. After speaking with Mike, their General Manager, we decided to upgrade the furnace and air conditioner unit as we felt it might be better to go bigger, especially since we plan to stay in our house forever. The price they quoted us was VERY reasonable and we approved the quote. The following Monday their team arrived at our house for the installation. They sent two teams out so the job could be done in one day, and it was. The installation was carried out in a very professional manner and they took care to make sure there was no mess, both inside the house and outside. After the install was complete, they explained everything to us, showed up how to operate the unit, made sure the new thermostat was connected to our WiFi and demonstrated the use of that as well. Everyone that we had contact with from Valley Heating were professional, polite and extremely helpful. In July we had a heat pump water heater and 40 Amp cooktop circuit installed. The install team was great. They communicated frequently and clearly as the installation went on. The team scaled up to meet the installation timeline and address a couple of minor unexpected things. The installation was during a heat wave and the team kept focus despite the heat. The install space had to be prepared ahead of time and the office was patient with the initial quote while the space was being prepared. I don't know how to 'grade' this so a "meh", due to my lack of experience in dealing with these sorts of repairs. I do know this is a firm that I won't be using in the future. First - it seemed to take a long time. From initial service call to 'completion' - about a month. There were multiple back and forths. Second, I think the work was in a word, "poor". This is where my lack of experience in these matters takes over. Perhaps I'm OCD and/or a perfectionist - I'd rather take extra time and procure the necessary parts/tools/instruments (granted this isn't always possible) to have an OEM look or better. Besides our annual inspection we wanted complete duct cleaning throughout our two story home. David & Alfredo were exceptional: totally knowledgeable, professional and worked as a well-oiled team to complete the work.
