This is the very first time I'm giving less than 5 stars for a yelp review. I usually like to give companies the benefit of the doubt and give them opportunities to make it right, but my experience with Attic Masters and Adam have been nothing but endless frustration. First, they didn't show up to our scheduled appointment on Nov 29, at 8AM even after I received 2 confirmation emails, and text reminders about the appointment (attached below are photos of the confirmations). I specifically chose this company over Attic Bros because I was told that they work on the weekends and complete jobs on weekends. In hindsight, I wish I would have just gone with Attic Bros from the start. Two guys came at 2:30pm instead on Saturday after I had called them at 10:30am about how no one showed up. The 2 guys only put up 2 films of radiant barrier and left at 5pm. On Sunday morning, the remaining workers showed up and "finished" at 2:30pm, however they didn't rodent proof my crawl space until I had pointed out the holes to them. They did it after I had pointed out the holes. Additionally, they never rodent proofed my the attic side vents. They rodent proofed the roof, sure, but I would have thought the side vents would be included (they didn't have a ladder to reach it so they didn't do it). I had to hire a third party to fix the holes/gaps on the side vents instead because Adam and his company didn't want to come back to fix it. I was told they'd call me back when they can schedule me in, but after a week I gave up and just hired another company. Also, they damaged one of my kitchen lights when they were doing work in the attic. Adam also said he would send someone to fix it and that it's "easy" but nothing ever came of it. The 3 stars I gave them is because the insulation looks decent and that they still came on Sunday to follow through on the project, but if they could lie to me about "fixing the side vents from the inside" who knows what else they may have lied about. I am concerned about this company's integrity. Also- Adam is rude and defensive on the phone, and doesn't really let his customers speak. read more

We used Attic Masters in 2015 for an insulation job. They installed blow-in insulation in the attic and bat insulation in the crawl spaces. We have not had any issues since the ones that we dealt with during the initial installation. Fast forward to this week (Mar. 2026). We are in the process of getting quotes for installing a vapor barrier. During inspections, two separate insulation experts notified me that the batt insulation was installed incorrectly. The paper should be facing the floor rather than facing outward. See photo. read more

If you're seriously considering Attic Masters, make sure that at the very least you get a second opinion, because here was my experience: Their technician, Sebastian, came out and did an inspection that, for reasons beyond my understanding, didn't include actually looking at our second attic space. Yet, he still included it in the estimate and priced it as a 1k sq ft job and called for removal and replacement of all the insulation. He recommended replacing all the ducting as well. The problem? Each of the four subsequent inspections I received noted that the space was small (less than a couple hundred sq ft) and clean with no issues. While he did inspect our primary attic space, he claimed that rats had gotten into the ducting and recommended that it all be replaced. Guess what? Each of the subsequent inspections noted that the ducting was in great shape, but just needed some outer insulation repair. Before I brought these issues to Attic Masters, I had a conversation with the Adam mentioned in other reviews and had the same experience those reviewers did where he was defensive and made it very difficult for me to get a word in. And, I emphasize - this was before I even brought up any issues! After I brought the above mentioned issues to their attention in a subsequent email? No apologies or acknowledgement of the obvious problems. They just tried to brush it all aside. I'm sure they have their reasons, explanations, and justification, but it sure seems like they were being dishonest with me. You have a lot of options when it comes to this work. We've now hired Attic Masters for two different properties. The first in San Ramon that we were converting into a rental and now another smaller unit in Milpitas. Both times the experience has been excellent. Like a lot of people, we kept putting this project off after Covid. At some point, though, you realize this isn't a DIY job and you need profs who know what they're doing. From start to finish, they made the process easy. They came in, removed all the old insulation, sanitized the attic, and installed brand-new insulation with zero hassle. Each job took just a couple of days: day one for removal and cleaning, day two for installing the replacement. Both times the crews worked efficiently and left the spaces as clean as could be expected. It is costly but not as costly as doing it yourself or ignoring a real problem. read more

Recently went home to visit my mom and she was complaining about the house getting too hot. Remembering how those SJ summers go, I know how blistering they can be since we don't get that ocean breeze. I also know that we haven't done anything to our attic in a long time. I found Attic Masters here on yelp and saw people I know used them as well so I decided to give them a shot. I called them up and set an appointment. The team was on time, polite, and explained everything clearly before they began. They took out all the old insulation and cleaned up the attic thoroughly, sealed up air leaks, and installed the new insulation. They also took care of some of the issues found with the ductwork. The crew was pretty proficient with their work. We love an optimal job. After all was said and done we noticed a difference immediately. The house is cooler during the day and theres less dust floating around. Our HVAC system isn't working so hard either so hoping to save some money on the bill there. I made an appointment for an estimate to get my attic insulated with these people a week ago (June 25) via the Yelp app online. "Adam" communicated with me that they would be here between 10AM and 12PM on July 2nd. I had to shuffle some appointments I had in the morning around to accommodate for this time. Well, fast forward to today (July 2nd)...I've been sitting on my butt all morning to wait for the estimator to show up. When 12:15PM rolled around, a total classic no-show. I called their office and "Adam" (I presume the same Adam I was talking with through Yelp?) acknowledged my appointment and said someone would be calling me right back... So about 20 minutes later, someone named "Reuben" called me and said, "the office made a mistake...I might be able to make it around 2.." I told him "no" as I have to be in San Francisco for an appointment at 2:30..he sounded like a broken record and kept repeating that the "office made a mistake.." I told him to just forget it, that I was going to go with another company that genuinely respected their customers and their time..(do they think people just sit around all day, that other people's time is not important?!) I was in need for insulation services for my home, and searched on Yelp for local companies. I found Attic Masters, and wrote an online inquiry from their website link provided from Yelp. Within 15 minutes, I received a phone call from a live person to ask about my insulation needs. I was able to receive an estimate online, had some communication for fine-tuning the estimate, and scheduled an appointment. When the attic professionals arrived (Roy, and two other team members), they were very careful about preparing the entry way to my attics (I have two). I appreciated that they were very clean in their work, and respected my home. I originally wanted to have insulation only, but also opted to have the attic cleaned, decontaminated, and varmint-proofed prior. I have used Yelp for years, but this is my first review and it could not be more deserving. The attic in my 1971-built house had little or no remaining blown-in insulation. When a new roof was installed a few months ago, the attic became so hot in the afternoons that the AC ran continuously until almost midnight. So that is where Attic Masters came into the picture to replace the old insulation with new R-30 battens. They also added a radiant barrier and replaced the return HVAC ducts with new insulated ones. Company is highly recommended. Workers arrived on time and perform their job in a professional manner. Although the job took longer than the workers or I expected, they stayed and completed the installation the exact same day. I contacted Evergreen to clean out the air ducts at two adjacent houses and noticed how much pride the workers put into their work that I also paid to have them wrap the ducts. While the workers were wrapping the ducts, they observed that I had a flea infestation festering in the basement. Requested a quote around March 2020 for removal, cleaning, sealing, and installation of R38 insulation. Then the pandemic hit. I put everything on pause until further notice. In December my daughter and grandkids who had been living with us moved into their first home and I thought this would be a good time to reconnect with Evergreen. I contacted them from my original quote and asked if there any adjustments considering the time that had passed and if they were available for a service call. They asked if I had made any changes to the home that might effect the quote and after saying no they held to the same quote as provided almost a year prior. The day of the appointment I asked to have them delay their start time because of an unexpected circumstance and they didn't hesitate to comply. Upon arrival they set up by taping all fabric covered furnishings with plastic to prevent contamination of the old fiberglass insulation. Everything went smoothly. In addition to the new insulation they also installed a thermostatically controlled gable vent at no additional charge. I was provided photos of the work that had been accomplished. After my roof replacement, the chaotic attic space needs a fresh clean up and update with insulation and air duct replacements. Attic Master came out very reasonably quoted with clearly itemized costings. I've also requested to have a new air duct added to the sun room which turned out to be quite a bit of works. Attic Master has been very accommodating in my schedule change requests. On the first day, they arrive promptly and have all the old material removed. Installation with R38 fiberglass and a mixed of R-6 and R-8 flexible air ducts took about a day and a half to complete. The job overall is well done. There's some mishaps during the process. But, the owner took the time to have it mitigated. Ruben and his team did a fantastic job replacing the insulation in our home. We needed to do some electrical rewiring in the attic, which meant we needed to remove the insulation, get that electrical work done by a separate contractor, and then install new insulation at a later date. Evergreen was very helpful and professional in coordinating that schedule and Ruben and his team worked diligently to clean out the attic, seal the entire house to prevents rodents. They also took pictures of all their work so it was easy for us to review it. After the electrical work was done, they came back and did a very thorough job insulating the attic, again documenting everything with photographs. My work needed some insulation service and cleaning and I was tasked with finding a company that would perform this job. I had previously used Evergreen Air Duct at my last job but was looking for one closer to my area. I had found Attic Masters online and reached out to them and was able to get a quote and appointment without any hassle. Once appointment day came around, I had walked into my office and already saw the staff unloading their vehicle and starting to work. Big plus that they had got there early! This was ideal since we have a warehouse portion of our facility and it was a lot of ground to cover. Not to mention, I have no idea when we last had this done to our office building. AtticMasters Review: 5 Stars. The BEST!! Here's the scoop: Two things happened at our home after the recent rain storms: Water damage and a rodent infestation in the attic. A leaky roof, combined with rats seeking shelter turned our attic into a complete disaster. We did a quick look and found torn insulation, water damage and obvious rat's nests and droppings everywhere. The smell was disgusting. We posted a request for a recommendation on our local homeowner's association website (NextDoor.com) and got a great review for AtticMasters. When I did get around to calling they gave me a quote over the phone and almost immediately followed up with an email copy of the quote. I was particularly impressed with their professional attitude. On the phone, the receptionist was poised, direct and spoke with perfect grammar - very refreshing. We were given a choice of appointment dates working around our schedule and it was a snap to find a day and time that worked for everyone. The project folks confirmed the day before and we even got a call from the Project Manager, Jonathan, about 30 minutes before they arrived. Once Jonathan and his team arrived, they went straight to work. No hesitation. I was impressed with the efficiency of the team - working both in- and out of the attic. Almost a immediately we had a steady stream of debris, droppings, rotten insulation and even a few dead rats coming out of the attic...while at the same time new insulation, new vent covers and roof patching materials going in. Very efficient team. As a bonus they even went around the attic and filled all the entrances that rats could get into and even though I though I had closed things up pretty well they found quite a few I missed. We'll still have to have some roof work done on the outside, but the obvious water leaks were fixed on the spot using a special rubber sealant which was more than sufficient for the tiny leaks they found. Finally, the team pretty much cleaned up the whole area leading into and out of the attic - even to the point of a quick damp mop along the whole hallway. In summary, these guys nailed it. The attic looks clean, neat and squared away and it actually smells like any other room in the house now. Amazing. Best experience ever! These guys are easy, non-judgemental and super reasonable, my only complaint is that they don't offer other services... I would use them for everything. I'm cleaning up the family house in Santa Cruz and find 30+ years of neglect in the attic, rat droppings, and debris from a very messy re-roofing some years back. Needless to say it was embarrassing and although I'm a hard core DIYer I had to draw the line on that. I call a local guy recommended by my exterminator and he basically gave me a judgemental... "Its pretty bad up there" and a quote almost twice what I ended up paying with Attic Masters. After that first quote, I turned to Yelp for advice and found the great ratings for Attic Masters. I have to say I held off a little on calling them because their location is a little vague but rest assured they do service Santa Cruz and the rest of the South Bay as far as I can tell. When I did get around to calling they gave me a quote over the phone and almost immediately followed up with an email copy of the quote.... Super nice and easy! They confirmed the day before and the PM called about 30 minutes before they arrived. This is where it gets really great.. When they get there they're all really nice super polite guys. The PM (I think his name is Jonathan) asses the site, sticks his head in the attic and says OK lets go to work. No judgement, no extra costs just a bit of an overview of what my expectations are and they were off. They had one guy up there rolling up the old insulation before they even got fully unloaded. Like others said they sealed off their work area in the house and even chose a smaller access opening to minimize traffic in the house. They worked fast and left me an empty clean not-smelly attic... Just what I asked for. As a bonus they even went around the attic and filled all the entrances that rats could get into and even though I though I had closed things up pretty well they found quite a few I missed. I called this place and a bunch of others before finally deciding to go with this company. Prices were more reasonable for the same type of batting insulation, R 30. Got an appointment to have the attic insulated on Sunday, which was great since it was impossible to do it during the week. They came and set everything up, putting plastic over the floors and vacuuming afterwards. Originally planned on getting my vents cleaned, but after viewing ours, the guy said it wasn't up to code. It costs a small bundle to get all our vents redone but in the meantime, we'll wait and get them installed at a later time since it's not necessary at the moment. Insulation didn't take very long, however afterwards I could feel the house was much warmer and the heater didn't turn on as much as it used to. Our attic was a complete disaster. There was hardly any insulation in the attic and rats have been living there for the last couple if years. We needed to find a good attic cleaning company to take care of the problem. We got Attic Masters to come out and give a free consultation. Ruben was our sales rep and if I agreed to the estimate he was the one that would perform the job. The estimate was very clear and presented on an I pad in a very professional manner. They started work the following we cleaning the attic , removing entire insulation , rat proofing and sanatizing. The next day they came in to lay down john Mansville R30 bat insulation and threw in a free attic fan. I was really impressed with Rubens work and his competitive price. The quote was very well presented and clear of what was going to be done and the steps of the procedure. The price was very very reasonable compared to 2 previous quotes I had received.
