About 30 minutes later, Joe texted to say he would call at 2:00 -- and he did! We arranged an onsite estimate, and from the moment I met Joe, I was impressed. He listened to what I was trying to accomplish, answered all of my questions, explained my options, and made me feel both heard and informed. He also had a newer team member with him whom he was training, and I was equally impressed by the patience and care he showed in teaching him. I received three bids for my attic insulation project, and I chose SDI hands down because of my experience with Joe. From there, Alfredo was terrific to work with. He worked with my schedule to find a day that worked for me and was incredibly easy to reach by phone or text whenever I had a question or needed to confirm details. On installation day, Sergio, David and Miguel were fantastic. They arrived, got everything set up and went right to work. They were careful with my home, incredibly thorough, and when I had questions, Sergio took the time to come down, talk with me and then personally went into the attic and took a video so I could see the completed work. And when they were finished -- no muss, no fuss. Everything was cleaned up beautifully. They even touched up the paint around the attic access where they had been working. Other than having a newly insulated attic, you wouldn't have known a crew had been working in my home all day. They thoroughly explained their recommendations and patiently broke down why batting insulation wasn't the right fit for our home. They also offered wall insulation which was what we were also looking for as our south facing walls always felt warm to the touch in the summer. We ended up hiring them, and they completed the entire job in just a few hours. I wanted to wait a few weeks before writing this, and I can now confidently say they did a fantastic job! The house feels significantly cooler and much less humid. (Keep in mind we had zero insulation before, so results might vary if you already have some old insulation). We'll see how it holds up this winter, but for now, I highly recommend them. Professional and efficient, the two installers were in and out in 2 afternoons. Added spray cellulose insulation to attic and exterior walls. The house has wood siding in front and stucco on remaining three sides. They were the only one willing to drill hole through the exterior wood siding in front and patch. They also paint if owner provides the paint. The other two contractors said they had to drill holes from inside the house (oh no, we had just patched out walls after the electrical work). So far looks like house is staying cooler in warm afternoons. We shall see this winter!

I had my external walls insulated and they used cellulose to fill making 1.5 inch holes between the studs. Then they use a cork foam type backing to put in the holes as a vapor barrier and close it with stucco patch. Then comes the texture followed by primer. And if you provide them your matching paint they will color the patches too. They are nice and simple folks and easy to work with. Thanks I wonder why I waited so long to insulate the walls as the difference is noticeable and will save energy. They also help with rebates offered by state or federal.

The on-site execution was handled exceptionally well by Project Manager / Foreman Ezequiel Mas and his 2 crew members. Communication: Ezequiel Mas spoke English well, was honest, transparent, and easy to work with when asked direct questions. While he was not naturally proactive in communicating updates, he responded clearly and openly when questions were asked directly and persistently. Collaboration: Ezequiel Mas was very responsive to requests throughout the project. He assisted me with a long ladder so I could access my attic and conduct a 1.5-hour visual inspection after the R-38 insulation was installed. He also willingly provided photos of attic areas I could not easily inspect. Workmanship: Ezequiel Mas and his crew delivered strong workmanship throughout the project. They customized and installed galvanized wire mesh to prevent rodent access to the attic, replaced the old vent soffit with galvanized wire mesh alternative, and inspected all crawl space vents, sealing gaps where needed. Ezequiel also replaced 2 crawl space vents at no additional charge using materials I had purchased, which I appreciated. Most importantly, both Ezequiel and his crew were able to maneuver efficiently within the attic's tight spaces. From insulation removal and rodent-proofing to air sealing, sanitation, and R-38 insulation installation, they completed the work thoroughly and professionally. Post-Installation Homeowner Visual Inspection: I personally entered the attic and inspected all accessible areas. Based on my visual inspection, I confirmed: 1. R-38 insulation was present throughout the attic, generally ranging from 8 to 12 inches in depth. In areas where the insulation depth appeared lower than 10 to 12 inches in depth, Ezequiel explained that the insulation was more densely packed. 2. The tighter attic edge areas were insulated and did not contain noticeable voids. 3. Vent soffit openings remained unobstructed by insulation. 4. Areas requiring additional sealing were promptly addressed when identified during my inspection. A Few Notes for Future Homeowners: Scope Clarity: Be crystal clear on your contracted scope. Promotional add-ons (e.g., complimentary air duct or dryer vent cleaning) may end up serving more as a sales funnel than services actually performed. It's best to keep your focus strictly on the core work you need. Scheduling & Boundaries: Stand firm on your own timeline and project sequencing (especially if coordinating alongside other major projects like a roof replacement). The company's administrative side may push for their own convenience. Come prepared with your own knowledge, be persistent with your boundaries, and don't let outside pressure or pushback dictate your house's readiness.
