I hired Miguel to paint a small alcove in my San Francisco apartment (about 7 x 5 ft). After an initial site visit and quote ($900), communication became very difficult--texts went unanswered and he even canceled once because he mixed up the job date. I had changed the color from white to a blue-green and texted him the exact flat and satin finishes. He confirmed twice that he had the correct paint, but on the day of service arrived with white instead. He then went to buy the right color, and his son and another worker did the painting. Unfortunately, the first job was poor: uneven coverage on each wall, holes and trim hooks left unpatched, light ceiling coverage, messy edges, and paint spots on the floor. They also didn't leave the paint cans behind. Miguel wasn't present, even at the end to look it all over. When I contacted him a few days later, he agreed to fix it and returned a week later with the crew. They repainted the whole alcove, and the result the second time was satisfactory. While I appreciate that he came back and corrected the work, the overall experience--miscommunication, bringing the wrong paint, poor initial workmanship, and the delay it caused--means I wouldn't hire this company again. read more

I am so surprise to see good reviews about this business. They did a trench on my small patio due to the small slope that diverts the water towards my foundation. The main think was to prevent water towards come into the house. It made worse because when they patched the concrete it was more incline towards my foundation. The trench was so big and high up without adequate downspout. i noticed later on that he carved part of the stairs to have the water flow towards the drainahe. They also carved a ridiculous inefficient little Chanel. when it rains the water just get stuck on the wall of the retainer wall. He installed a smaller cap x the drainage and took old one better quality. He offered a sum pump after all but by then I could not trusted him. I am still dealing with the issue. inficated the sum pump to be installed somewhere in the patio when the slope is the problem and the sum pump neededed to be installed, made a pit underground. You never call me backI still have the warranty. can you come back and fix the work and installed an excavate a pit and installed the Sum pump and downspout from the trench. I reported the problem immediately and the team worked quickly to mitigate the issue by reworking the affected area under their warranty. Miguel was super friendly and had a very fair quote for a French drain on one side of our house that had water intrusion. His team took 3-4 days to complete a 20ish foot trench with a water basin and sump pump to drain towards the front yard near the street and sidewalk. A retaining wall was also recommended and installed to help prevent more intrusion and erosion. The only thing was a few miscommunications on extra charges, like hauling away the dirt from the trench. Overall, we worked out a satisfactory agreement, and I do recommend Miguel's services, just make sure to over communicate on any extras that may pop up. read more

We hired Miguel's team after speaking to several companies about some water intrusions we were experiencing in our primary bedroom. It was a multi-faceted project that required installation of a vapor barrier in our crawl space, taking up the existing flooring, replacing some damaged flooring, floor joists and subfloor as well as reinstalling the existing oak flooring afterwards. Wish I had Miguel to take care my sump pump problem last year when the old one stopped working! Definitely will recommend my friends for his services! Last year, our old one stopped working, and had our old/good plumbing company (Redwood city who did 2 good plumbing drain pipes repairs in the past) to take care the issues. Communication on scope, & cost was so bad and unclear, even though company has very experienced workers 30+ years), maybe company had management/trust issue with workers in the field. At the end they done partial job by only replaced sump pump with too shallow trench and the pump won't work till someone shake the pump bucket even though we put extra weight rocks on top of the bucket (working for short time). Not to mention of using the Home Depot orange bucket. Worst things is left the job undone and claimed the completed work was temporary fix without communication how/when the work will be done correctly after 2+ months without any follow up. However the company owner/Mgr (family own) did ask me to paid :-( To fix the issue for good, Miguel's company was recently selected after calling several top-rated Yelp on sump pump and subfloor moisture control management specialists, in additions to many plumbing companies. Miguel's response time was quick, his on-site estimate was clear on his approaches & project scope, and price was reasonable in comparing to my previous exactly same issue.
