I had 5 estimates to raise the front of my house 2-inches (leveling) onto an existing solid footing. I was not as concerned about price as how the work leveling would be accomplished. All Season was the only one that offered a straight forward solution. As there were many unknowns, they offer a "time and material" bid with a max not to exceed. They did a 5-star job with much attention to detail. Set up inside laser level to make sure I was happy with the result. I will be calling them first when I do leveling on the back half of the house. Project came in at less than 1/3 of the max estimate. Super professional. read more

I was looking for a contractor to inspect my foundation, which I had retrofitted many years ago, and complete a retrofit verification form for the California Earthquake Authority, in order to qualify for a discount on my earthquake insurance. I had trouble finding a contractor able/willing to do this minor work. Jeremy responded promptly to my Yelp request and was able to come to my house to complete the task soon after, and did so at a reasonable price. It was a pleasure to meet him, he was friendly and professional. Cannot WAIT to work with them on my first and forever home and HOPE they can squeeze me in between jobs (pretty please). Jeremy answered my call when I was frantically trying to get a second opinion about French drains and came out the next day. He was on time and extremely professional. $250 fee to come out if you own the home and it is credited back if you hire them for a job which is extremely reasonable given that I just paid $450 for another company 2 days prior that doesn't do the credit back. Jeremy was extremely thorough and poked his head into the crawl space to better evaluate the water situation after days of rain. He also noted that a tree root may be a potential issue and recommended an arborist to opine on the impact to their plans. Jeremy got the proposal out in about 26 hours from the time of inspection and the price is reasonable and his report assessment was thorough and solid. I can see why this company is diamond certified and has a 4.7 rating on Yelp currently. Really looking forward to working with you Jeremy, Mark, and your team. 11/10 Would TOTALLY recommend. We moved into a fixer with a bunch of drainage issues, particularly our damp and leaky basement. Jeremy, who was our main point of contact, initially came in, walked around our home with us and spoke in detail what he'd recommend, which was creating a trench inside our crawlspace and having drain pipes run through the side of the house which gave the added bonus of fixing up our slanted concrete walkway. The work would be noisy and super dirty, but the foreman Miguel and his team were very efficient and clean! They made sure to protect the garage and our items with plastic and hosed down the driveway before they left for the day. read more

UPDATE: of course the owner will dismiss this as much as they can. I have security camera footage for the visit and their bogus proposal in writing, which was completely unnecessary given the walls conditions (verified by a local reputable structural engineer). If you need some fishy bid, All Seasons Construction is your true friend! The buyer of our house wanted to bail out offer but all contingencies have been removed. Their realtor was a genius. He arranged All Seasons Construction to provide a scary special quote and used that the scared us away and got the deposit back. Based on our security camera footage, All Seasons Construction sent out someone to our house at 6am before the sunrise. In pitch dark, they did a "wonderful" job "assessing the retaining walls" in under 2 minutes, and came back with an estimate of hundred thousands of dollars to "tear down and rebuild everything" unnecessarily while a local reputable structural engineer already gave his opinion of the wellness of the walls. Of course the strategy worked because we don't want any trouble to delaying of selling our house. The seller realtor won the game and got all the deposit back. All Seasons Construction made some quick bucks by selling their moral and ethics. If you need a fishy contractor, they are the one! read more

I had an amazing experience with Jeremy (the owner) and his crew. He listened to what I needed and was thoughtful about giving me multiple drainage options. He didn't jump to the most expensive fix like the other two companies did that gave me estimates for my drainage problem in the crawl space under my house. His foreman was polite and incredibly respectful of my space. I've never worked with a foreman that was so metitculous about sealing off my house from dust and making sure that none of my personal belongings were negatively affected by the work he and his crew were doing. All Seasons did a great job replacing my retaining wall and front stairs. It was a "no fun but gotta do" homeowner project that turned into something that actually feels like an asset to my house. They rocked it! They replaced my original walls with a lovely curve, and the tinted concrete came out beautifully. Communication was good with both the owner/project manager and foreman. They came in on-budget and under-time and finished every last little detail. I was extraordinarily busy during the time they were working, and paid them barely any attention. I asked for an assessment/consultation of my foundation. Then it took several months to receive results although the owner says he mailed it to me immediately. Cost $51,750+for one side of the house and the assumption that the house had lead paint which it does not. The owner was nice. read more

Charges $250 for a bid, even when given plans that lay out all the details. I asked if they can provide a rough range, and the owner replied saying "if you are so price sensitive that $250 is too much for a bid, we are likely not a match, we are rarely the least expensive option". $250 for a bid is $250 more than anyone else has asked for the opportunity to bid on a large project. And not even giving a range to assess if it's even worthwhile to pay that fee... Hard pass. I appreciate marks response below- however it's the attitude in communication that is uncalled for and not appreciated. Saying if you are "so price sensitive about a $250 estimate... maybe money grows on trees for you, I wish it did for us. Your reputation is based on how you communicate with people. And if I hear this calous disregard for your clients money upon our initial interactions, that tells me everything I need to know about your services and costs of working with you. And others should be aware. There are many honest contractors who want a shot at doing business together and are gracious for the opportunity to prepare a bid. That's the cost of doing business for the industry. But you guys decide to charge for a bid - which is fine, you do you. But you charge $250 AND are jerks about it. read more

We hired All Seasons for a major foundation replacement along with general retrofitting work - we had two perimeter foundation walls that were failing, and I got in touch with Mark to come take a look. He was super responsive and gave very clear information to help us make a hiring decision. He also didn't try to suggest anything we didn't need while at the same time worked with our structural engineer to come up with a plan to get our foundation to a place where we wouldn't ever have to worry about it again. Construction started nearly exactly when he predicted it would several months after signing the contract, and we then started working with Jeremy and Miguel (the foreman for the project). I can't speak highly enough of either of them, and specifically Miguel when he managed and worked on our project. We had a tight deadline to finish the project by and Miguel ensured that we hit it. Him and the crew showed up early every morning and worked long days + weekends when needed to stay on track. They also cleaned up the job site daily and made sure our gates and basement door were closed when they left each day, and they continuously beat timelines that he set. The new foundation is of super high quality and we passed the city inspections with no issues. The new walls and floor, and french drain, all look great. I'd highly recommend All Seasons for any foundation work. One minor note that I also appreciated is that they didn't put up any signage or go to neighbors houses advertising while they worked on our house (which is something that other companies told me that they'd do). Not a huge deal, but it was another small example of them showing that they were solely focused on completing our new foundation and not trying to bring in the next job. read more

I reached out to All Seasons about a French drain installation. The consultation went well; Jeremy was knowledgeable and pointed out another issue that I could think about fixing. However, even though I wanted to move forward with the French drain installation, they never sent over a contract. The consultation was in July - I would check in with Jeremy about every week and it was always "we're really slammed, but I'll get it to you in a few days", rinse and repeat. Initially he said he could schedule the job for early Sept but then some other jobs were delayed so that became mid-Oct. Well we're in mid-Oct and still no contract. I'm surprised to be blown off like this when I'm literally asking them to take my money? I understand delays happen but the lack of communication over multiple months is disappointing. If they had a project minimum or couldn't/didn't want to take on this job they should've just said so. In the time it took hounding them I could've gone with another contractor and had the project finished already. read more

All Seasons did such a great job on our new driveway and flagstone steps. Couldn't be happier with the whole process and can say that yes, a new driveway can bring happiness! Since our driveway is also our walkway, we wanted an aggregate finish. They brought in someone that was skilled at this particular finish. He did a great job. We walk on the driveway with confidence that we won't slip and fall. And it looks awesome. We also had a tenuous brick retaining wall that abutted the driveway. Jeremy was thoughtful and thorough in thinking through the retaining wall as it relates to the driveway, and was able to save the wall without additional cost. Concrete can be prone to cracking. If you're in the market for making repairs to your home, you know it can be quite an intimating feeling. There is also no other feeling than nervousness when calling around trying to find someone trustworthy to treat your home as if it were their own, especially since you'd be making such a huge financial commitment toward it. Unfortunately, these guys came up on a HomeAdvisor App as highly recommended. I requested that someone contact us (as I provided all necessary information to make this happen) but no one ever did. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and found their contact information on Yelp. When I got connected (to whomever answered on 02/12 at 1:44PM), the woman I spoke to sounded pretty stuck-up and too-good to even want to help. I told her that we already met with an engineer, have the plans ready, and a permit with the city to start; we were simply looking for the right person/company for the job and would like for someone to come out. She pushed away business as she kept talking over me with her condescending tone and extremely poor customer service. I have a lot of positive things to say about All Seasons, and I'll be referring them. I have some minor gripes that are very minor compared to the overall professionalism, price, communication, etc. I got. 1. Needed a rather urgent sump pump solution under concrete to solve the VERY annoying problem of a perfectly working storm drain I had to disconnect because of current codes after getting a sewer lateral. 2. This is a "small job" for most contractors, too small to bother with. BUT Jeremy came out almost immediately to assess it, and because we both were flexible, it could work out. My flexibility was the willingness to be called with ~24 hours notice that they were coming and theirs was plugging me in when they could. Win-win! 3. The work was top quality and solid; the price felt reasonable. (Hard to know when you know nothing about concrete and drainage...but due to the number of workers and number of hours I can say this felt very reasonable.) 4. Bonus: Another contractor came up in casual conversation who I've referred a lot and have great respect for. Jeremy praised him and said how he really appreciated having him as a referral source in some cases, even though they are also direct competitors. This made me trust All Seasons MORE...even before the job started. Most contractors make a sport or a hobby of badmouthing others' work, and it's really frustrating. How refreshing to hear mutual praise! My small gripes are that communication was stellar until it wasn't. The actual day they started work I didn't know they were coming, so I couldn't warn my tenant, and they startled her. And they didn't communicate which day they were coming back after. Also, they didn't tell me what was getting dug up so I lost a couple of succulents I liked. I'd have saved them in advance if I'd known, but the replacement cost is maybe $10-12. No huge thing. Found All Seasons Construction in the Diamond Certified Directory. Since we live on a hillside we needed someone who specialized in decks and foundations/retaining walls. Geez where to start?? Mark the owner came by to give us a bid on the job. This job was so complicated that he actually had to come over several times to get us an accurate bid. Another contractor that said he specialized in decks flat out said he couldn't do it and yet another guy came out twice and couldn't decide on what he wanted to charge us. Mark spent a lot of time evaluating our job without even being paid for it. After meeting with Mark it was a no brainer that we were going to use All Seasons Construction. Mark gave us many options on materials, hidden screws vs. screws that could be seen from the top of the deck, and railing options. He strongly suggested cable railing and boy am I jumping up and down so happy that we went with his suggestion. The cable railing came out BEAUTIFUL! Since this was a large job we expected that it would take some time to get the project done and as with all construction we expected to bump into a surprise or two. So I'll say that during the time it took from start to finish we were never inconvenienced by the workers, the construction material or the subcontractors (cement truck, port o potty guys ect. . . ). We were able to come in and get out of the property whenever we needed. The workers left the work area clean, safe and litter free. As far as bumps, we ran two structural issues that All Seasons foreman Miguel Angel and Mark were able to suggest solutions for. I was quite impressed that although they are the professionals they kept us in the loop on all issues and used our opinion to move forward with their choices and solutions to construction issues. All in all, I couldn't be happier with our end product. I absolutely love Mark, Miguel and the All Seasons Crew. From start to finish they did an awesome job and they were very easy to work with. Sometimes I hate to give companies 5 star ratings because all the super picky, super naggy clients flock to these companies but I can't give All Seasons anything less. Sorry Mark. read more

They are professional, fast, efficient and do top quality work. My driveway looks incredible and the process (though a bit delayed due to the weather) was seamless and easy. I'd like to make it clear this review is about the owner of the company and, his shoddy and irresponsible recommendation for the project work, and his awful communication skills. The workers themselves were wonderful. I wish I could have paid them directly and not given my money to the shady owner!! So in the end, I paid upwards of 35K+ for work I'm not sure was the right work. Let me explain... I'm a first time homeowner and busy single mom. I chose this company because of their reviews and the video on the website where Mark seemed very genuine and diligent (and Diamond Certified), and because they were able to come and give me an estimate and start the work quickly. But be warned... and remember you can't judge a book by it's cover. Mark (the owner) came to my home to and took all of about 10 minutes to look at the project and provide me an estimate, and despite the inspection reports I presented him, his recommendation was to replace the foundation on just 1 side of the house. He quoted me a seemingly reasonable price for this. At this time, I also expressed concern about drainage, but he all but waived my concern away after barely glancing at the project site. I should have trusted my gut after meeting Mark, but figured he was the "pro" and had been doing this many years, so he must know what he was talking about. So I signed the contract and the project began... Here are my biggest issues and why I completely regret working with Mark and would NEVER recommend him to anyone, ever: 1) Mark's estimate and original price quote was just shoddy and irresponsible. He didn't consider obvious drainage issues and issues with the chimney that should have been clear to him as a "pro." 2) If you are looking for someone to talk down to you and seek out the bare minimum amount of work needed to make the quickest buck, Mark is your guy! He was rude to me a number of times, pressured me to move forward with the project without answering my questions in a responsible way, and became aggressive and defensive when I asked him completely legit questions about the project and pricing, etc. He even wrote in one email "I don't have time to explain step-by-step exactly what you're getting...but it will be explained in the contract" -- this should have been a big red flag for me; a report doesn't explain clearly what it is NOT doing, nor does it explain details about why this approach over others, etc. I was just too eager to get this job done so I could move on to other home projects so I moved forward with him anyway. HUGE MISTAKE. 3) Halfway through the project it was determined that they needed to remove the chimney and extend the foundation from end-to-end on the side of the house (when was that NOT the plan?? Mark NEVER made it clear that the foundation would not be extended end-to-end as well (just add on $10K+) -- I think Mark has a video on his website where he says "we don't nickel and dime you to death over change order fees"; that's true -- they outright price gouge you for things that should have been obvious to "pros" from the get-go. So spin your roulette wheel and try another company... I thought I did my research before hiring Mark, yet I get the feeling I would be in a better place now if I had just thrown darts at the Yellowbook pages. read more

While the final product -- a new foundation, drainage, and sheerwall --was completed succesfuly, (two plus month effort, although I was assured it would be completed in four to five weeks) this foundation project was subject to numerous unfortunate and often unecessary setbacks. Parts of the job were subcontracted out, something I was not made aware of ahead of time. While it is understood that a job of this nature will create much in the way of disruption, the site was by no means kept clean. A huge pile of debris was left adjacent to the street for the better part of a month -- something that could have been avoided had the contractor rented a dump box -- and something the neighbors would have appreciated. I found the crew to be dedicated and hard working, but oversight and communication with me was lacking. Too often part of those making needed progress on the job were absent -- apparently working at other job sites. Of more importance the original contract failed to detail aspects of the job hat would necessitate the demolition of furnace parts and ceiling, shelves, and and an existing wall of one room, resulting in additional time and expense. read more

I live in North Berkeley in a slide zone and our floors are getting less level. To me it is getting more apparent with slight door tilts, squeeky floors and a couple of areas where you can feel the slope (though I am more attentive to it than our guests or the rest of my family -- who are oblivious to it until I point it out). After reading the great reviews I had Mark come out to give us an estimate to see what it would take to improve the foundation to keep this from worsening. I'd been setting aside funds to cover what I figured could head towards six figures. Mark quickly gave me his first impression -- for a 90 year old house it was not a significant slope and he asked to look at the foundation. After going into the basement he concluded that our foundation was relatively new (about 20 years), well done, and that it would not be worth the massive expense to try to get a small incremental benefit. I'm sure he could have found SOME work that needed to happen, and which they'd be qualified for, as some others may have. But he was clearly more interested in me NOT doing work that did not have a smart cost/benefit ratio, than getting more work for his company. 5 stars for a combo of experience and honesty that is not easy to find. read more

We had All Seasons do a structural repair to the front side of our 1910-era bungalow. The corner pillars were settling into the earth, pulling away from the house, and causing a tilt in the driveway that was getting worse with time. We had an engineer draw up plans that entailed installing steel posts at four points along the front beam of the house. Mark studied the plans and came up with two scheduling options for our job; in the end he saved us $10K - $15K compared to what our other bidders came up with. His foreman and crew did a superb job, finishing a project that had been scoped at maybe 6 weeks, in a mere 4 weeks. A couple of potential issues arose, but they were managed quickly with no hassles at all. I'd count myself completely satisfied, in fact happier with the job than I could have predicted back before this whole thing started. read more
