Danny from Eastman roofing was the only estimator that listened when I explained that we were interested in learning if we need a new roof or if the existing roof can be repaired. Danny was one of the few that took the time to climb up to the roof of both buildings and the only estimator to take pictures of problem areas. Even though Danny is in the business of selling a roof, he suggested that what we needed was some maintenance and repair at this time. We got the premium shingles, roof ridge venting, a flat area cricket, and good quality aluminum gutters that fit our home's style and color scheme. Esteven was the site lead, and made sure that all aspects of the job went smoothly. He also made sure we knew what work was to be accomplished each day. Since we started with solar panels, the replacement involved coordinating with the solar company to remove and re-install the panels. Esteven and his crew did an excellent job adding extra underlayment where solar panels were to be re-mounted, marking the roof rafters so the solar company could firmly install the mounting brackets, and adding extra waterproofing for each solar bracket stand-off. Esteven removed a powered gable vent fan, ensured there was nothing damaged in our attic when cutting the ridge line to accommodate the new ridge vents, made sure no insulation interfered with airflow for the venting, had the crew clean the site before leaving each day, and fixed any cosmetic issues that had been caused by the construction. I commend the workmanship of Eastman Roofing and their crew, and wholeheartedly recommend them if you are considering a roof replacement.

Over the years, whenever a workman has ventured into the crawlspace, the feedback is always the same--"Who did your crawlspace encapsulation? It's the best I've ever seen." Our house had a mish-mash of prior attempts to mitigate water under the house, and I felt good that Bill fully understood the complexities of the existing situation and offered a couple of solid options to deal with it. We did end up choosing the full encapsulation (to just finally be done with the issue) but I did not feel pushed in that direction at all during our conversation. Once we decided, working with Gina in the office and Bill to get the details of the plan finalized was easy, we got our dates locked in, and on the scheduled days Antonio and crew showed up on time and cranked through the job. Everything was finished exactly to the plan Bill had drawn up, including the interface to the existing parts of the system we wanted to keep. And the crawlspace looks incredible - truly a major upgrade to our home. Looking forward to a rainy season finally not worrying about it!

We hired Bay Area Moisture Control to install a sump pump with trenching to address standing water…read moreunder the house. On the positive side, the crew (Antonio) was punctual, easy to work with, and efficient. The whole job took 3.5 hours. The issue came with the placement of the sump pump discharge location. I had talked to their sales lead (Bill) about having the water be discharged to the street where there is a storm drain. Instead, the sump pump "pop up" was placed 8 feet from the front of the house, way too close. Water can flow back under the house, defeating the purpose of the sump pump entirely. When I called Bill during the job to talk about our options, he dismissed our concerns and immediately pointed to the contract, implying that this was our fault because we signed the contract. In reviewing the contract, the design was completely unclear about where the sump pump would exit water. Bill continued to skirt the fact that that we had discussed pumping water to the street, and instead, he baked a different design into the contract with unclear markings. We are dissatisfied with the poor communication, but even more so, the lack of accountability from the company. If you hire this company, just a word of caution to walk through the design with them before signing and make sure you're on the same page about everything. We are going to have to bring someone else out to fix the issue. One more thing ... I was flabbergasted that when talking to Bill on the phone about the iffy sump pump discharge location, Bill was trying to upsell me on encapsulation! Read the room, dude.

They seemed to do an ok job, however when…read morethey reinstalled to door to the crawl space they left an opening large enough for rats to get in. Rats got in, went up the walls and into the attic. Vector control showed me where they were entering. Huge drag! They're rats, so things were destroyed. I specifically mentioned the door needed to be part on so that rats couldn't get in. I called and emailed Clean CrawlSpace multiple times and requested someone to come inspect to make sure the rats didn't damage the barrier. First I was told it would be 275.00ish, then they would get back to me. It's been weeks and they have not.
