David was professional, transparent and gave very fair pricing. His men were very professional as well and did an exceptional job installing batt insulation into my attic. In fact, I have two attics, and when an issue came up (on my end) regarding the installation of the second attic, David was very flexible with me. I highly recommend Atticity. read more

We contacted Atticity to insulate our garage. We received a response within the hour, and had someone on-site to provide an estimate the same day. They were quick, efficient, and professional, and very communicative. On the second workday, we received a text from the owner saying that his team hit traffic and would be about ten minutes late. I might not have even noticed if they'd just shown up a few minutes after they said they'd be there! I'm very appreciative of the attention and effort we received while the job was being done. They even finished about half a day early. I've already recommended Atticity to several of my neighbors. I'll be calling them again if I ever need more insulation work. read more

After receiving a number of quotes, we hired David at Atticity to remove our old blow-in insulation and install new batting insulation in our attic. He was very quick to come by and give us a quote and he had the most straightforward, competitive pricing. His crew arrived on time on the day of our appointment and did a very good job with the insulation. There was one issue that we needed to fix, and David came back to personally take care of it. The insulation has drastically improved the warmth of the upstairs and I highly recommend it to anyone considering an installation. read more

My experience with Atticcity on our 40+ year attic insulation was GREAT from start to finish! David was the first to respond to my initial inquiry after several generic 'estimates' over the phone. The first indication I had that made me feel a sense of honesty and integrity was David's approach to estimating the square footage of my project. I had measured and estimated about 1,800 sq ft but David used current technology to get a more realistic size and said it was 15% less than my estimate. He was fair and quick over the phone and by text and submitted his formal proposal via email for me to review and sign. Quick response is key to me in judging how the job experience will be. Other contractors were still calling me after two days to send an estimator out to look at my project. On job day, David's team arrive ready and eager to get to work. I got a sense that his crew have been together for awhile by the way the interacted, friendly and professional. They took care to cover areas and protect property. I didn't expect the amount of old blown in insulation I had! They filled 8 large bags using a very powerful 18hp machine. They did't use cheap insulation either, without asking Owen Corning R38 unfaced insulation replacing my old 4" blown in with new 12" blankets. I think the job took longer that they expected so I think David brought in another person to assist. David was on site for 70% of the time too to make sure all went well. I have no problem recommending Atticcity to anyone needing insulation work. They are responsive, fair, professional and clean. read more

When we needed a quick-turn job for removing and replacing 40+ year-old attic insulation on the second floor, David from AttiCity really stepped up to help us out. The urgency came from the fact there was a 3-day window before the new roof would be installed, and AttiCity gave a competitive quote and could start the very next day. The crew arrived on time with appropriate protective gear and equipment to remove the old material. Highly recommend Alonzo, Gerardo and other crew members who went above and beyond to carefully work around the complex roof geometry, which was too narrow to access from the crawlspace. Overall, my experience with AttiCity has been great - they even went the extra mile and installed the small amount of extra insulation that was left over to make sure I got the best coverage in other areas where the old blown-in material was lacking. Highly recommend David and the AttiCity team for any job. read more

Out of a number of groups that bid on the project, Atticity/David was one of the first to reply. We were able to set up an onsite appointment very quickly. He delivered a quick and reasonably priced quote. On the install, two guys showed up and plowed through the rat-poop and trash infested catastrophe that was the crawlspace. The guys put up plastic sheeting to haul the stuff through the house part. Made quick work of all the junk and debris, then sucked up all the remaining stuff with a huge vacuum cleaner. This was followed up with spraying bleach everywhere down there and finally some new vapor barrier and patching of holes where the rodents were getting through. The crew cleaned up after themselves and everything was left in great shape. David and the crew provided very quick, professional and great results. Highly recommended! read more

Needed some insulation for our attic. Here is what set AttiCity apart during the estimate process. David, the proprietor, came out to do the inspection and estimate. We had about six companies come out for an estimate. 1. Spotted air vents that other companies missed. They are placed alongside the outer roof so most people missed them. One company even quoted us $400 per vent to install new ones. 2. Owens Corning (Pink Panther) bat-38 materials. High quality. 3. Included in the price is vacuuming and air sealing of any gaps. 4. Five year rodent proof guaranty and lifetime on the insulation. 5. Workers, Isaac and Junior, were very respectful and hardworking. For our 1200 sq foot attic they got the job done in about 2.5 hours. They laid out plastic on the floor, bed and closet to protect against dust and debris. They removed it all before they left. 6. Competitive pricing. Would use them again! read more

David sent his guys out to our home in Redwood City several months ago. The good: they came quickly after we agreed on terms, they left the house clean, and their quote was competitive. The bad: they didn't insulate the garage bathroom as discussed, and despite the quote including air sealing, they did not seal around the many slim (and insulation rated) "recessed" lights that are in our ceiling. In David's defense, he did return himself to do some of the air sealing, but underestimated how much hadn't been done and promised to send his guys back at a time that was convenient for them. That was 3 months and multiple check-ins ago. The frustrating: the company does not respond to text or email (but does do a pretty good job answering the phone, especially when I call from a local area code), they promise things (i.e. to show up) and don't follow through. We made the mistake of paying before we realized that not everything had been done. If you know a lot about attic insulation and air sealing, and you are happy to crawl up into the attic and look at their work, then Atticity could be fine. But if you're new to this, or relatively hands-off, I'd look for someone who communicates better and is better organized/able to follow through. Update: I had a phone call within an hour of this review, and a return visit within a day. They insulated the garage bath, and sent a guy to unearth unsealed lights. He needed my help in the attic finding them, but the job is now done. read more

David's team is an attic company in the Bay Area and I have worked with his team twice for two different houses. They were strongly recommended to me by my next door neighbor. I feel that David's estimate is competitive and reasonable, and he also provides a 5 year warranty for house attic rechecks. David's crews are nice and professional. They did a great job. They took out the old and put the new insulation, and were able to check for and remove any animal entrances (rats, other rodents, etc) I would strong recommend them, and I see that they are very very hard workers. David was always punctual and honest during my attic inspection, and was also very quick to respond to my text messages. I would highly recommend AttiCity to anyone. read more

They did my attic clean up and crawlspace vapor barrier. They did a very good job at a reasonable price.

David's Team did an astounding job in 1) removing the old insulation, cleaning, sealing and installing R-38 Blow-in new installation in the attic area 2) cleaning, sealing in the crawling space and installing new R-19 Batt insulation. David was able to schedule the work within 4 days of contract signed which is a record time especially in the current Covid Lockdown. We were very happy with the whole process of insulation and disposal of trash in a professional manner. The price is very competitive and we recommend highly Atticity insulation services. read more

A week ago our house started to smell like cat urine and fecal matter and throughout the week we called 4 different places and found out that there was a rats nest (most likely decaying) underneath our furnace and it isn't accessible unless the air duct was removed. No one wanted to do the work, but everyone wanted to take our money for doing random things they think we needed done. We needed ONE thing done and David and his team did it. It no longer smells anymore and we can turn on the heater, finally! Thank you for getting the crawl space all cleaned up and patching up the crawlspace vents outside! read more

David and his crew did a fantastic job from start to finish on my attic cleanup, rodent proofing, and insulation install. My 45 year old home had old cellulose insulation that was no longer cutting it. In comes David with the best quote, best materials (Owen Corning Pink Panther R-38) and availability. His crew placed plastic along the carpet to prevent from dirt and debris. Clean quick and efficient his team had the majority of the work done in 4 hours. David himself came in the next day to finish the install as part of my attic required different size batts that was unforeseen. Instead of laying down improper sized batts he spent the time to make sure it was done right. 5 Stars! read more

STOP YOUR SEARCHING AND JUST GO WITH THIS COMPANY! Our house barely had any insulation in the attic and we had NONE in the crawlspace. We constantly had to turn on the heater and our electricity bill was just crazy. I knew I had to get new insulation. I got a lot of quotes (almost 10!) from different companies through Yelp but David was quick to respond and provided the best and most competitive quote They will beat any quote you got from other companies! He came the next day to give me an estimate They started work the following Tuesday (less than a week). It took 3 guys and 2 half days to finish the attic and crawlspace insulation. They vacuumed the hell out of my attic and got all the gunk and trash out. They removed it and disposed of it properly. Then they started installing batts insulation. All name brand materials (Owens Corning). Then the next day they installed batts in the crawlspace. Everything is super clean and feels warmer already! Our thermostat never used to read more than 60 degrees and now it's feeling like 65. Very happy with how it all came out and glad we left it to professionals to work on. I ask A LOT of questions because that's just how I am and David is always willing to answer my calls. They also have a 5 year warranty. Will definitely use this company again for future needs. read more

Aug/2018 I lost track of this review and coming back to update. Edward did come back after recovering from a long illness. Unfortunately he had to start his business from scratch again. He came back to fix/work on the following: - Fixed both the non-functioning attic fans. It was because of a breaker switch that I should have noticed. - Reviewed the attic work done by him. It is still impeccable after 2 years. - Did a thorough research on crawlspace encapsulation and put a proposal. Given his delicate health condition, we agreed not to move forward. I do plan to call him every year to do a maintenance inspection, and would recommend him highly. I still keep the rating at 4, because health issues still require good/timely communication. Oct/2017 As much as I liked Edward's work, I have to bump down rating because the work is left incomplete. Sealing the moisture barrier was pending. I sent multiple reminders to Edward. He fell sick for a while and no response after that. Now I need to find someone else to complete the work. Moreover, at least 1 set of pipes installed by Edward to take rain water to the street came off and need to be re-installed. ++++++ I somehow lost track and forgot to update the review. Edward did come back immediately afterwards and reviewed the whole crawlspace. It did not help that the surrounding area was feeding water into the crawlspace after the rain. So he ended up doing multiple things: - Get the rainwater away from home - Build the pipes to take water to the street - Put a sump pump in the crawlspace. adjust the leveling so that water getting in the crawlspace flows towards the sump pump In the last weeks, it rained quite a bit again. I checked the crawlspace frequently and there is no water accumulation anymore. What is pending is to re-seal the moisture barrier. ++++++ Jan/2017 I requested Edward to come and check the crawlspace multiple times after recent rains. No response. Today I checked it myself and unfortunately there was way too much water after the recent rains. I at least expected Edward to mesg me back or call me. That way I could have checked myself and avoided any damage (if at all) to the crawlspace. Now I am looking for someone to essentially review the work done in the crawlspace and install a sump pump. read more

Atticity was the first to respond on yelp. They promptly came next day for inspection. The quote was not the cheapest (I got several quotes) but David was very up front in telling me I shouldn't go for wall and crawl space insulation just yet. Very good experience. read more

David and his guys are best of the best. He was the first to respond my inquiry and gave me a quote super fast. The price he gave was very reasonable and the work started within 2 days! Update: Currently working with Edward to get the project completed/resolved. Will update review at the end of the project accordingly. It saddens me to write this review but our experience with Edward these past few months have unfortunately been very disappointing. Edward agreed to do a project regarding our house's water issue (draining out the water, making a new drain system, etc). The project began around May and is still not complete as of November. A time-consuming project is one thing but the main reason we are upset is the lack of communication and several no-shows. There have been multiple times when we were told that they would come by to continue the project but no one would actually show up (in almost every case, we were never informed that they would be unable to make it). Our follow-up calls and texts would often not receive a response until several days (or weeks) later. For example, we were told that they would come by to continue the project on Wednesday of last week. We received a call on Wednesday (which we appreciated, thank you) letting us know that they would come by on Thursday instead. No one showed up Thursday and we haven't heard from them since Wednesday. Although our first experience was good (as shown by the previous review), these past few months have been a negative experience. read more

Edward was great to work with. I felt like he spent the most time educating me on his plans on insulation and what would be the best return on investment. Having knowledge empowered me going to ask for other quotes, but didn't receive anywhere near the same attention or as competitive a price. Many of the companies that had contacted me didn't have knowledge of the area. His job easily could have been completed haphazardly due to my structure but he took the time to do it right. I was very familiar with the difficulty of the work in our attic because I attempted to do it on my own first and quit due to the small crawl space. read more

We had our attic cleaning and insulation replacement done with AttiCity. Right from the beginning the owner David H has been very responsive, confident of the suggestions he gave which shows his experience.
