The service was great Went for the prime rib but it's not served until after 5 I got the steak sandwich with french fries instead and it was very good. Next time I'll be there at 5 for the prime rib!!!! read more

If you relish prime rib then Vallemar Station ranks right up there with other noted eateries like the House of Prime Rib in San Francisco. Other dishes my family have tried and commented favorably on are the panko crusted red snapper and Sunday's fried chicken special. The only disappointing meal I had was the very dry meat loaf special that is periodically offered as a special. As others have noted, Vallemar Station's beverages are pretty well crafted, but they are also served in smallish glasses. Cosmos and martinis, for example, are at least 1/4 less generous in portion size compared to other establishments in the area. All in all, Vallemar's food selections are well prepared and worth many return trips. read more

Nice folks, a lovely place to spend a sunny (hah!) evening in Pacifica. The food was delicious and plentiful. Holy moly, that's a lot of food. Good seafood choices and red meat. I probably wouldn't bring a vegetarian here. read more

What I like about this place is the fresh seafood. I especially like their cioppino and prime rib--cooked medium rare. Full bar is a plus but the service is mediocre. You wouldn't know this was a restaurant if you weren't paying attention while driving by on highway 1. Don't be fooled, the food here is worth trying and affordable. read more

We love it here and eat here every trip to Pacifica. Steak and seafood great. Price is average and service great. Good place to take a date read more

Some friends and I went to get drinks on Saturday night and it was completely empty, we were literally the only people there. But despite it's ghost-town ambiance, the bartender was really friendly, the drinks were great, and the decor is priceless. My only suggestion to the owner would be to invest in a sound system in the bar area. Although there are several TVs the place was so quiet I felt a bit like I was in a library. read more

Have noticed that quality of food is slipping a bit while prices remain on the expensive side. It is a concerning sign when you notice this happening at a restaurant. As a result, it makes my family more and more unlikely to choose to eat here- which is sad because they are so close:( read more

Had a great time meeting up with friends here. The food was a bit overpriced, but good, and the people were nice. It has a relaxing small town feel and is evidenced by the seemingly regular group of karaoke participants. Definitely stop by the karaoke lounge. read more

Had a very nice meal tonight. Went to try the Surf Spot with a friend but was turned away...told that the wait was over and hour and that they close at 10. Imagine being a business owner....people there to spend money and you gtet turned away? Set the people up at the bar. Anyway, we made a good choice. Been to Vallemar a few times but not in a while. Had a great time tonight. It is an old school place- and that is not bad. Had the ground sirloin....soemthing I like at home but rarely get out if at all. For some reason it sounded good with mushrooms. It was. My friend and I could talk as I'm getting to old for loud places to socialize - happens right at 40...well, I never did like it. Service was good, friendly and a hometown Pacifica girl (lady). And the price was great - $16.99 with a nice clam chowder, baked potato and creamed spinach. Its not fancy but that is not what we were looking for. And has Surf Spot was closing, we were at the bar at Valemar...spenging a few more bucks. Very few people left but we were still welcome. read more

Best clam chowder i haver had no lie o my god i dont wanna finish it!!!!!!!! And the staff are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended!!!!!! read more

Vallemar Station has the BEST chicken wings ever... mmmm, they are larger than most wings that one can find at say, Round Table or someother really expensive places!! If you like em Hot or Mild, they got em.. i LOVE their wings!!! It is also really nice to sit out back and eat.. or drink, with the heat lamps goin, you dont even notice its 40 degrees outside either!! read more

So I think many of the past reviewers are missing out on something when they go to this establishment. You are right, you are not in the city and this place is not some fancy pants eatery or the cheesecake factory. It is small business and family owned. So what is Vallemar Station? It is a sports bar and a restaurant that is frequented by many many locals and enjoyed by tourists as well. It is individually owned by a local family that puts their heart and soul into it. There are many dishes that I absolutely love and I have eaten them probably at least a hundred times. They have great burgers and delicious fries, plus the chicken sandwich with bacon and cheese is probably my favorite thing to order. They have many excellent pasta and seafood dishes as well. I know my dad is obsessed with the fried chicken and prime rib. All in all, you can go here to have drinks in the bar or a nice dinner in the rear dining room. They have some really great servers as well. Oh and my mom claims the ranch dressing is the best on the planet! read more

Good New England Clam Chowder though it is listed as Boston Clam Chowder on the menu, Fish and Chips were not so good...

This is an old-fashioned restaurant that's had it's heyday. The kind of place that allegedly charges $5 to share and doesn't give you refills on fountain soda. If I were them, I would switch concepts and become more of a diner with pies and homemade ice cream and stay open later. I like the fireplace and the reminiscent feel, though I'm a sucker for that type of thing. It's way expensive for what it is, though everything we had tasted pretty good - i.e. the chili and the caesar salad. They did serve us after the kitchen closed, which gets them an extra star! read more

Love Vallemar Station! Great cocktails and the best crab sandwich on the planet!

Ww tried out Vallemar Station due to the reviews on Yelp. We don't know if you had a different cook or what. Our meal was awful. My steak didn't taste like beef and my wife's cannelloni was off, it didn't even look right. Props to the waitress for not charging us for bad food when we complained. read more

My husband's uncle was a regular here before he passed years ago and our family likes to come in to remember him with a drink and a nice meal. Their crab is so fresh and tasty. I'm a picky eater, very picky...and their crab sandwich is fabulous! Arguably the best in Pacifica and definitely the best I've ever had! Will continue to come in and you should too!!! read more

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. Excellent service with a smile. Yummy food. Huge portions. The fried chicken is their sunday night special. It was really good. Their prime rib is delicious too. I understand some people might say it could use some updating but I think it's really cute and has character. The staff is also very welcoming and hospitable. We will definitely be coming back! read more

Went to SF on my 24th birthday. Decided to drive along the Pacific coast and so happen to come across this lovely little somewhat hole in the wall restaurant. It was right next to this BBQ joint, but something told me keep walking towards Ash's like my first instinct and so we did. Walked in and it was quiet just the way I like it. We were welcomed by and older Gentleman and greeted by an lovely Lady. I was a happy camper due to my birthday so I smiled and stated " its my birthday!" they smiled and sat us down. They have a full bar right in front with a old comfy home feel that I enjoyed. I had the bartender pour me up a shot of Jameson and than so it began. I was hungry as a hippo. The menu was fantastic. It was overly packed with so many choices where its hard to decide sometimes. The price was a little more than I thought, but I knew because of the quality it was going to be. I ordered the Shrimp Scallop pasta linguini dish with a salad and all. IT WAS DELICIOUS so good I almost drove back to Sacramento (home) to slap my mother lmao. LOVED IT FOOD - 10 Comfort- 10 Service- 10 read more

Two friends and I want here to watch the Sharks playoffs, because this place has a zillion TVs. I didn't go as well as we had hoped. Being a sports bar, we expected them to have the hockey playoffs on on TV, yes? No. We asked nicely and were ushered into a comfy corner booth while the hostess, who we found out later is the owner, turned on the TV that faced that corner. They gave us menus, but all we were interested in was beverages and the game, and maybe an appetizer. The same hostess came over a few minutes later and rudely asked/stated, "You're not having dinner?!?" There were plenty of open tables in the place so it wasn't like we were depriving them of anything. And if it was important, the hostess should have asked beforehand, "are you having dinner?" The only food item I can comment on is the onion rings. The serving was ample, but the outside was over-fried and the inside undercooked and doughy, which happens when cooks make the fryer too hot. Within 2 minutes of the game being over, the hostess/owner turned off our TV set, despite the fact we were enjoying the post-game show. The waitress explained that their PG&E bill was "$5,000 per month." She said it twice. That might be believable based on the large amount of gas they were burning to heat a patio that was neither enclosed, warm or occupied. So, this is a sports bar that wasn't aware of that a local team was in the playoffs, who treated customers that only consumed beverages like dirt. I won't be returning soon, and next time I look for a sports bar in the area I'll look to Daly City. read more

Staff was very friendly and professional. I ordered NE ClamWin Chowder & fresh Idaho Trout. Very good, a bit too much of a tasty sauce on top of the trout, moved it to the side and enjoyed. The baked potato was perfect. My only complaint was the my Arnie Palmer tasted as if the Ice Tea was not fresh. I will return. The next soft drink should be on them read more

Great food! Amazing waitress! The chicken fried steak was the best I ever had and my date's prime rib looked like a brontesaurus cut!!

I love this place! I've been coming here for years now to the point where I call and some of the waitresses know my order (lol). The food is consistent which I love because if it ain't broke don't fix it! The owners are lovely people and I love that they do karaoke on one of the weekend nights. read more

Where do I begin? I asked for onions on my salad. I was told it would be $1. When the salad came out, it was literally a tsp of diced onions thrown on top of my salad. The blue cheese dressing I ordered tasted more like ranch....exactly like ranch. My entree came out. The steak was tough and over cooked - I ordered rare. The side veggies were somehow charred and then over steamed and dry...no flavoring. I have no idea how they managed to burn them, steam them, and then leave them heated up so LONG that the veggies became dry again. I talked to my waiter several times about how dissatisfied I was. Instead of offering me something to fix my meal (like complimentary french fries) I was just told to put some dressing on it and eat them. This is my beef. You charge outrageous prices and deliver crappy food. If your prices were more reasonable, I probably wouldn't have left such a negative review. But this restaurant is over priced, the decor is horrid, and the servers/managers have no idea how to treat a customer in a high-price establishment. Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere. read more

I'm going to be honest. This review is on the food. The only reason this is not a 5 star review is because of the staff's customer service. It could be better. The food on the other hand is really good. First two times I've eaten here, I've ordered the Country Favorite which was always really good. Today I ordered Hal's Favorite and Hal definitely did not disappoint. I really appreciate the freshly cut fruit on each of these dishes. They tasted fresh and very sweet. Only complaint would be about the OJ that my fiancé's brother got. It tasted like OJ you'd get mixed with liquor vs breakfast or even freshly squeezed OJ. Otherwise, very good meal. read more

I came here a few years ago for dinner when my Mom and her friend were visiting, to say my Mom is a picky eater is an understatement!! but she really had liked it as did I, Good food, good portions, and I love the atmosphere there, low keyed, nothing chichi!! Went for brunch today and was really good ! good portions! and coffee is really good and the bloody Mary YUMMYYYY! Service was really good, waitress may appear a bit gruff but she is really nice and give stellar service, no BS ... and the waiter/busboy was great!. So glad we went and I will be back. Taste of the real Pacifica! read more

I have never had a bad meal at Ash's Vallemar Station. Over the years I have been there for breakfast, lunch and dinner, appetizers&drinks. Never a bad meal. It is a family owned business and the waitresses are very friendly. On a sunny day you can sit outside at the tables with umbrellas. My husband and I have had the steaks, pastas, sandwiches/burgers and have never been disappointed. read more

It wasn't horrible, but it was fabulous. I had amazing food and good drinks, but until they get the skunk smell out of there, I wouldn't hang out in the bar. read more

This restraunt is a Pacifica institution. It is also a great redneck type venue to have fun and listen to great country music. The bar turns out some great drinks and the food is real American. read more

I liked this place. Liked, not loved. Our server was great. Something about her was very very likable. My food was really good. I had the turkey burger. The other people I went with were not as happy with the food. Overall, I liked it. There aren't a ton of places in Pacifica, and this is one of the better ones. I would choose it over Nicks for dinner any day. read more

Great portions but just ok flavor. I had the french dip. Huge sandwich but au jus was bland. Ordered the "fresh cut" fries for my children and the came out suspiciously too quick. Decor had some charm but very dated overall. I would've liked to come back and try more menu items, but just not quite inviting enough to return. read more

stopped by for lunch. I had Calamari Steak Sandwich, companion had Chowder, Salad, Garlic Bread. Great service, fast delivery, recommended!

Great little place on Hwy 1 in Pacifica. I am trying to go to a different spot every time I visit my daughter.. This place is old school yummy. My daughter had the veal scallopini and I had the pot roast. Great comfort food! Have the chowder! read more

I thought maybe it was just me but it seems David K also inspired hatred. OK, the place, the offerings,.ARE dated. But I was enjoying it. Our waiter and bus boy were great, my salmon piccata with creamed spinach and extra vegetables was really good. I ordered the dinner salad with Blue Cheese just like mom did in the 60's; I loved it. I didnt care for my dessert but my waiter TOLD me to order the brownie. I was thinking about the upcoming Sunday chicken dinner until found myself in trouble with an older woman who I assume is the manager or owner; could anyone other dare to be as blatantly rude, even hostile to customers? I've been told 'In sorry we're closing' before. Its never been startling or caused nervous laughter. Many civil individuals aren't prepared to, seemingly out of no where, be spewed with pure venom by a stranger, someone we don't share a cell with in maximum security. Ive never been described as a worrier, scared, but her agitation, palpable disgust and anger made me suspect she was itching to call the police. We did what one does, apologize and hurriedly wrap things up, but I suspect we didnt move fast enough. So, Im not saying dont go, but maybe consider take-out? read more

We went to this establishment yesterday for father's day dinner. Food was edible and everyone was satisfied. However, my dad had dessert and ordered a cup of coffee. Coffee didn't come with dessert, so he asked for it after I paid, leaving an appropriate tip. One of the servers was gracious to offer us the coffee, which should have come with the pie. After I paid for our overpriced meal, our main server lady decides to give us attitude and charge my dad $3.50 for a crappy cup of coffee. We wouldn't have had an issue paying, but given it was Father's Day and my dad had to reach in to his wallet to cover a petty charge infuriated me. She asked him directly to pay for the coffee. It was a cheap move, and I lost any shred of desire to return to this restaurant. I am not one to tear down people, but I felt very disrespected by her actions. I think it would do well to caution people against soliciting the restaurant. Could have gotten a better meal at a nicer place in the city for the same price. I can't speak for the bar. I work hard for my money, and when I go to a restaurant for a special occasion and pay premium, I don't expect to be patronized. I think Pacifica can do better than this. read more

Walked into this establishment and walked right back out. The staff treated the family ahead of us very poorly and acted like their kids were a huge inconvenience. We were also there with a baby. It was also very rudely expressed to everyone waiting to be seated that the credit card machine was broken and they were only taking cash. Not to mention it wasn't the cleanest place. It's unfortunate they were so unwelcoming because it seems like the food is very good from the reviews. read more

Not very good at all. The place was very run down and the restroom was nasty. The steak was bad and flavorless. A poor cut of meat. The grilled veggies were all steamed and bland. The baked Potato was good and thats about all they had going for them. read more

Came here on my birthday and it was quite a good experience. I don't remember exactly what I had except for a steak which was fucking amazing. Had to get it medium rare of course and it was the best.
