Once again we were really impressed with the quality , presentation and taste of our dinners. I had their split pea soup and hubby had a salad. Both were fresh and delicious. Accompaniments were fresh made chips, french fries and haricot ver with small pieces of cooked potato and sweet potato pieces in them, all delicious and not your usual. Our steaks were of great quality and cooked perfectly. So delicious, everything was so good. Service as well. The atmosphere is clean and nice, although it could be a little cozier. Much to our surprise, the Valle Eatery & Bar is nothing short of five stars. No, it doesn't have the flashy service of NoHo of West LA, but the service fits the "ambiance." The chef and his crew should have their own place in West LA, if not Old Town Pasadena. Our dinners were superbly plated, the flavors nothing short of magnificent. All ingredients are (very) locally sourced. My pork chop was perfectly seared with a warm moist center. The apple-jicama added a marvelous, though understate elegance to the chop. We've eaten here about 5 times over the years since they've opened. Their breakfast was tasty but each meal we've had other than than that tasted like inexpensive diner food, but with a high price tag. The only thing we haven't tried is the pizza so that might be wonderful and they used to have great fries. We went there for a late dinner business meeting (trying it again for the first time in a few years) and our group had the chicken plate, soup, and fries. The flavor of the chicken and soup was salt. The thin piece of chicken was dry (overcooked), and the mushrooms on top looked like they came directly from a can. The potato was just okay. The fries were nice and thick and hot just like before but this time they were soggy and limp. One of folks at the meeting is a salt lover and he also noted that the food was salty and without any spices/depth of flavor. All this is fine for a quick bite and meeting at a Applebee's or a cheap diner but not at this beautiful hotel. On another note, the milk stout was amazing! All parties enjoyed their adult beverages, decor, and nice and attentive servers. Our server Ari was super friendly, attentive and had great suggestions. I got the arugula salad which did not disappoint. Also tried the sausage and jalapeño pizza. Hilton Garden Inns are not generally recognized for their epicurean accomplishments however I was curious to try out the Valle Eatery & Bar as it is/presented as a branded restaurant. Additionally, being a travel nerd and a Marriott platinum elite, I'm down to check out a new hotel to see what's on tap. The menu is lacks variety but they may be partially forgiven considering this is a hotel restaurant in Lompoc. Tapas aside, you basically have pizza(s), burger(s), or light sandwiches to choose from. I opted for the Valle Burger thinking it would be the standard, safe choice. Truth-be-told, the meat was a little on the dry side and could've used more (or any) seasoning. The accompanying side salad had a healthy mix of greens however a few cherry tomatoes had definitely passed their prime and the Caesar dressing had a layer of small bubbles on the top--a classic sign of spoilage/food contamination. Against my better judgement, I had small sample which didn't taste anything like a Caesar/creamy Caesar. It had a confused flavor, for sure nothing I'd intentionally order. Conversely, the service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Overall it was a positive experience; however to be fair I was the only one there towards the end of their lunch service. The atmosphere is open and modern and there are a lot of good seating options to choose from, even an outdoor patio. To top it off, the bar maintains a healthy selection of local brews on tap. Honestly, I'm hesitant to eat there again however I wouldn't pass on the bar/lobby as a meetup spot with friends. read more

This place just opened up next door to my apartment and I took the wife and baby over to check it out. The place looks beautiful inside and felt warm. The bar and restaurant is part of the lobby and check in area and is directly at the entrance of the hotel. We tried a few different items to get a good feel of the food and drinks. We ordered some pork tacos to start and they were delicious but my wife thought they could use a little more sauce. For 13 for a shared plate you only get 3 tacos. For this item I felt the price was too high for the portion and feel it should be $8-$10 unless they add a 4th taco which would put it right where its priced. For entrees I ordered the Valle Burger and my wife ordered a Margherita pizza. Both were perfect and tasty. The price range on both felt right for the portions and the quality of the food. I actually think they could charge $1 more for both items. The server did slightly mess up my order by giving me fries instead of the chips I ordered. I didn't say anything though as I love French fries as well and they were good. My wife ordered their blackberry mint marg and I ordered the hibiscus marg. I like Mai Tais and I did not like this drink one bit but it was well put together and brought out looking delicious. I'm sure people love this drink and this was simply personal taste in not liking it. The service was great and the food was great. So I was visiting the area being the responsible driver for my wife and sister-in-law so they could attend the Fess Parker wine release party. After the event we had a night booked at the Hilton Garden Lompoc. For our evening meal we decided to order from Valle which is located in the lobby and eat the meal in our room. Our ratings per the group. The Wedge salad 4 stars, Artichoke dip 3.5 stars, Margherita Pizza 3 stars, and the side order of the fries received 4 stars. The salad by far was my favorite, the pizza was just average and didn't knock my socks off. The artichoke dip was good however the homemade potato chips made the appetizer. The fries were crispy and tasty! The only issue is we didn't receive paper plates. We managed this by tearing off the tops of the styrofoam containers and using the lids as our plates. I had the pork belly tacos from the happy hour menu and a bowl of French onion soup for $14.00. The service was great even with a large group. This is a perfect option for a quick lunch or sit down dinner. For a group of 15 they were easily able to accommodate us in a comfortable seating arrangement. (We called the day before to confirm).
