We went on a Saturday night and there was no line. Service was quick and our server was attentive. Food was pretty expensive but tasted good. Downsides: there were extra charges for items that weren't phrased as costing extra (waitress asked us if we wanted soup with our meal as if it were an included side). Old Town Lompoc doesn't seem like the best neighborhood, but this restaurant is worth the trip. However, according to those who know the area, it is safe enough to walk in and the restaurant is a block from the police station. We drove over from Solvang on state highway 246, which was nice because we got to avoid the rush hour traffic and construction on 101. The round trip is not bad. The service was excellent. Iliana our server was very nice and attentive. We got the chicken and meatball soup and the pan seared salmon. The soup was just ok, not bad, but not super exciting. The salmon was excellent. It is normally served with hollandaise sauce, spinach, and mushroom over mashed potatoes. We subbed the potatoes for more veggies. The veggies were well seasoned, salmon coked well, and sauce was a nice compliment. Their Diet Coke cups were huge. They only have one toilet and someone was in there a super long time when we wanted to leave, so plan wisely if you need to go. We had to hold it all the way home. The lot has adequate parking. The bar is only beer and wine. The restaurant is not super visible coming from the east, so listen to your map app when to turn. We had a good experience and would come back when in the area again. I still til this day dont come here and there's a good reason why. Was offered if I wanted food here by a friend, I said sure since it was on him. Got my food and was still a disappointment. But of course I'm not going to come off looking ungratfeul to my friend. I just had to suck up, bite my tounge and keep eating. Cool local spot serving up some delicious food. I went with a burger and my friends went with pastas. All tasted delicious and came with some very friendly service. Beer choices are good with some bomb brews on tap. My one complaint about my burger was IT WAS HUGE! No way anyone can fit a bite in their mouth so I had to be that guy who sliced it up with a fork and knife but the flavors were definitely on point. :) read more

Came through Lompoc while driving to other destinations and found this place. Seemed like the best choice in the area. I was surprised it was really good! And the service was also excellent. I had the Old Town roasted chicken and I have to say it was very tasty. I would stop here again just for this. I had it with a baked potato and perfectly cooked roasted carrots and Brussels sprouts. Also had a great local house wine they recommended from Montemar winery. I need to go that winery some day. read more

It's hard to find to good places to eat when traveling, but not today. Today we found old town kitchen and bar and man oh man did they knock it out the park. I honestly feel this place should be bursting at the seems with customers because our food was really good. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Special shout out to Ileana who served us. My wife ordered the chicken piccata, and I ordered the pork chop. The sear on my chop was second to none, green beans good, baked potato also good. I will suggest asking for the bbq sauce on the side instead of having them add it to the chop while cooking. I honestly think it tastes better that way. I asked for the bbq sauce on the side and it was the right move. Portion sizes are very generous and you will not leave hungry. So if you're in Lompoc stop and eat, you won't de disappointed. read more

Great neighborhood restaurant that I can walk to! Excellent, nice service, every time, and feels welcome. I'd like to see another salad offering on the menu. We went to dinner and had a very good meal with 2 glasses of Rosé. The food was fresh. Prepared well and affordable a nice meal. A New York, loaded Baked potato and mushrooms and spinach. And a rib eye dinner with broccolini and an appetizer of corn bites. It was a sports bar almost but served better than bar food. So try it out! read more

Made reservations over a month ago and advised I was hosting a baby shower dinner. Guest count would be around 15-20 guests. The person I spoke to was helpful and said the headcount is ok. He advised that they close at 8pm and suggested to come earlier. I changed it to 530 instead of 630. He said they'd call to confirm headcount the day off. On the day of, Veronica called me to confirm headcount but I forgot to include myself and a surprise guest decided to attend to surprise the mom to be. My friend arrived first and advised Veronica that there's a reservation for baby shower and need 2 more seats. Unfortunately, she was met with resistance and concern. Veronica was not aware of baby shower and assumed our reservation was for a party, not a sit-down dinner. As if that wasn't enough, the manager had to speak to me privately and ask if we were having a party and not ordering food. Apparently, there were reservations made by other guests in the past, and they utilized the restaurant as a meeting place and not a dinner place. That resulted in little business, a few orders and majority not ordering a meal. I reminded him that I specifically made it clear at the time of reservation that we would be having dinner and it's a baby shower for coworker. Once he understood we weren't there to "party" only, Veronica changed her attitude and explained why she was concerned and how she wasn't aware of the type of dinner reservations we had. The restaurant is nice and has a rustic look to it. We had the corner area to ourselves considering the restaurant isn't really big. We ordered dinner and drinks, did a few shower games (puzzles) that kept the noise low. We were not loud, we were not out of our seats & we were not causing chaos. Food came out quickly, drinks were not refilled right away but were refilled when asked. The burgers were big and filling, the pasta was not bad (chicken marsala), roasted chicken was filling and steak was good too. After all that misunderstanding, it left my team with a bad feeling and unfortunately do not plan to come back. We are appreciative that mgmt accommodated 18 of us and changed their demeanor once they understood what our plan was. NOTE: If you make reservations, be clear about your purpose of the reservations. Mgmt will honor reservations for a group for dining in (dinner/food orders). If you do not plan to order food but just meet up for drinks or for a meeting, it is not recommended. read more

We actually had to drive down to Lompoc to run a couple of errands and wanted a place to stop for lunch. Service was good and the sandwiches were really good. Pastrami was sliced thin and stacked and was very flavorful. Had the mango cart beer which I wasn't sure if I'd like but turned out well enough that I drank 2. I've only been here for lunch a few times. I've had the Old Town Hamburger. It's pricey for a burger but at half a pound with fries included, it's tasty, satisfying, and more than enough. I've had the cheesesteak, what they call the Central Coast Cheesesteak. I went with the salsa instead of the mayo or BBQ sauce and the salsa on cheesesteak with caramelized onions and peppers works. I've had the Tri-tip, nice, tender, and thinly sliced. A sandwich that's basically the cheesesteak without the cheese. Or maybe it's the other way around. Either way, good sandwiches for lunch. Prices are fair, service was fine, but the atmosphere and comfort were not great. The music was for conservative boomers. The bar stools are just flat metal, uncomfortable from 5 minutes in. And they were too short for the bar height, so it feels extra uncomfortable to sit at the bar. Also the thin blue line flag on the wall gave me icky feelings like maybe I'm not safe here, if I'm not exactly like them. Not getting the warm fuzzies here. Within 2 minutes the owner came over to passive aggressively tell me that people love their atmosphere, that maybe young people don't understand the music, and that he is an ex-cop. Oh my! The food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed AF. Came here on New Year's Day as a last option for dinner. What a pleasant surprise. I had the tritip sandwich with garlic parm fries. Hubby had the burger and regular fries. He said the burger was juicy. I liked the vinegary bite that the tritip had. I like the music selections as well. Had lunch on a Tueaday, we were the only table there. I ordered the Old Town Salad. HUGE!! Nothing was wildly innovative, but it was good. My partner ordered the TBLTA with fries. The sandwich was good, he enjoyed it. Fries were obviously pre cut frozen, out of the bag, but hey they were hot and salted. Our server was great, checking in often enough without being intrusive. You know how Yelp reviews go. There's always a few bad ones. So we tried this place out because the macaroni and cheese looked good. We were seated quickly at 6 PM on a Saturday night. The service was decent and our drinks were not left empty for very long. We received our macaroni and cheese and salmon and they were the right temperature and both tasted wonderful. The portions were pretty decent for the price. Then on to the carrot cake. It was a good portion and excellent too. We enjoyed the music selection they were playing and the crowd was nice. We're on a road trip and stopped here for a quick kickback, seeing the good reviews. We just went for drinks & apps. All the drinks are fairly low percent but the beer we had was good. The customer service was fast and nice (although I find it strange our waiter didn't know what some of the things on the menu tasted like but that's bad on the manager not her). We got the wings, half Buffalo half Asian. They were both surprisingly sweet. I probably wouldn't do the Buffalo again but I'd go for the Asian. Big con id say is i did see on the bottom of the menu it's a $4 up charge for sharing plates, I think that's a little ridiculous, not everyone likes eating that large of a portion size or can take leftovers.
