The Wicked Shamrock, or the "Shammy" as locals call it, is a fun dive bar. Lots of tv's and loud music. You can pick and choose from the juke box or just catch the game on the MONSTER big screen adjacent to the pool tables. Fantastic beer menu that includes many local breweries. I was delighted to see sour beer, which I don't find too often. Cocktails are stiff and reasonably priced. I ordered an AMF. Great price- Great taste! See you there party people. read more

Awesome bar. Went here whole visiting my grandma. They have such a great selection of beer and there pints are 24oz and 5 bucks. Guess that's what you get in lompoc vs where I live in orange count where pints are 8 bucks. Bar tender was really friendly and so were the other patrons. They were really nice consider they all knew I was a out of towner. Can't wait to visit again. Only thing poor I guess was many of there multiple taps were TAPPED OUT. read more

I've been to a lot of bars and most of them I'm on stage playing and not drinking. I can tell you from experience that the Wicked Shamrock is one of the best examples of a local, friendly, all smash and no flash bars I've ever seen. Not much to look at from the exterior, it even might scare people off but what a shame because inside you have a great live music venue, dancing, a bar with some of the BEST beer on tap for reasonable prices (and that's coming from a beer snob) and friendly service/clientele. They have a few pool tables too with plenty of room. Give this place a try... If you like bars, you'll like this place even more. PS Why not 5 stars? Okay, two complaints with love for my homies there: 1) Mens room's got an old school piss trough, --It's 2011 what's that about? 2) No Door on the stall... We came in to celebrate my nephews birthday and watch the game on Sunday. The bar was busy but not claustrophobic. service was very quick, and there was a potluck which was a nice plus. The bartender Camile was very helpful and made our experience exceptional with great conversation and very quick service. She was very knowledgeable regarding the the beer list and brought us samples so we could decide which beer we liked best. It was our first time to the wicked shamrock and we will be back very soon. Came to Lompoc for work and saw this place on yelp. Looked like a cool spot to grab a beer as they advertise having 42 beers on tap. My co worker and I rolled in on a Wednesday night around 8pm, chose beers from the list on the wall and sat down at the bar. At this time there was probably 5-7 other people in the bar. We watched as the female bartender told a story about eating something too hot and drinking almond milk afterward to the one person sitting drinking at the bar and a male bartender. We courteously tried to wait out the never ending story before making our order. Once the story was over both bartenders ignored us like we were invisible and Walked away. Quite honestly we weren't sure if they were just high or if they legitimately didn't want to serve us bc we weren't locals. Anyway we walked out. Just a heads up for out of towners looking for a good spot to drink- I'm pretty sure this isn't it. Go to jaspers down the street. read more

Yeah, this is a great bar. Just a very chill atmosphere for everyone from 21-81. They get some really fun bands, the dance floor is nice, too. Although occasionally they have some really lame bands that seem like 17 yr olds who've had a couple months lessons...or some weird soloist singing his own material. Talented, maybe, but not much to dance to and sing-along with, etc. Oh, and they make really stiff drinks and great prices....great crowd that can vary, but tends to be more in the 30s, 40s age group. So while at Air Force training a couple of friends and I checked this place out. Surprisingly it was so much fun, a live band called "Solamente" was there and cheap alcohol. What can be better than that? What you would normally pay for a greygoose and vodka in LA would run you 12-14 dollars in LA and I paid around 6 dollars! It was great for that area. Love this bar! Every now and then I come out to Lompoc to visit my sister and this is by far my favorite bar in town. The bartenders and drinks are great, they have a huge selection of beers on tap, pool tables, entertainment and a really overall great crowd of people. My boyfriend and I came to the "Halloween night" where another band (can't remember the name I'm sorry) and The Circus Starts at Midnight performed. I don't think there was a single person who didn't enjoy themselves! The band kicks absolute ass and the show was great to watch too. The next time I'm in the area I will definitely be here again. The Sham is the only place I go in Lompoc. They have a huge selection of beers and bartenders that know what they're doing. I like my drinks cheap and strong and I like my bars small and comfy, this bar meets both of these requirements. Small and dark, friendly employees, and comfy barstools. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a drink if you're in the local area. They have a very large array of beers on tap, 42 I think. LOVE the shamrock. Great drinks and friendly, welcoming staff. A couple of things though.. The lady's bathroom doors are really hard to close, and usually I just give up and hope no one walks in on me. And they have a really dusty thrown together storage shelf in the corner of the pool room that turns this place from a really nice area to kinda dirty really fast.
