Despite the fact that I've had to speak with a supervisor multiple times about outgoing mail not getting picked up and that what they said would happen (carrier to come back and pick it up) never did happen, this is definitely not the worst post office in the country. Pros: My regular carrier is great, staff inside the post office are friendly, I can put my mail on vacation hold and have no problem getting it delivered or picking it up when I get back, during busy seasons a worker goes through the line to answer any questions or scan packages being dropped off to speed up and ensure that the line moves smoothly, the lobby is clean, the self serve kiosk is well maintained and in service, packing and mailing boxes are well stocked, and did I mention how great my regular carrier is? Most substitute carriers are awesome too...but this leads me now to cons. Cons: This location is overworked and understaffed. Cashiers (and possibly other workers) are often borrowed from other cities. The best residential carriers are moved around and put on different routes. When they are short carriers in town, they pull rural route carriers to make deliveries and apparently rural route carriers are very haphazard about deliveries and refuse to pick up mail or scheduled pick ups for packages. This location does a lot of things well and considering the volume of packages I ship out every year and the volume of business supplies I have delivered, my problems are minimal. The claims and grievances that I file each year are all with other locations around the country so that does put things in perspective a bit, but man I really wish they would get their rural route carriers to get it together. read more

It's official unbelievable horrible employees at this location. I have never been treated so poorly! Showed up at 4:59pm door was locked I waited by the door the employees kept looking at especially one lady very rude yelled at me when the door opened says I wasn't there by 5! I was there in a enough time. The behavior is horrible how they treat people and is typical of government employees behavior. They simply don't care and how rude they were was disgusting. Didn't expect to leave a bad review for a postal service but here i am cause its that bad. Waited about 20 minutes minimum for the blue door mail pickup. Man in front of me said hes waited more than 30 minutes. Gentlemen employee at counter says keep ringing the bell. Still no one comes. Lady behind me asks same employee how to get help for the door. Same Gentlemen employee in a somewhat hostile tone tells her i cannot help you until i finish with my customers. As their line of paying customers continues to grow mind you. Not to mention he knew no one was in the back to help us but told us to ring the bell. I guess we weren't customers cause we werent paying. Well my wife drop off mortgage payment by check in mail box in alley way . It turns out box was broken in to in early July and somehow our check was cashed by phone scan. And so why are there no cameras or bright lights back there. It's not the first time we are told its happened incredible. The amount was large and the persons name on the check which they somehow erased mortgage company name. And then put there name as Lesly Pavla Carter from what we can make out. So be weary of dropping at mail boxes take it inside. Good thing for BofA who is looking in to this and going to prosecute this scannless person. read more

I have moved around my whole life and had many poor experiences with the usps but this place takes the prize of worst. They rarely pick ip the phone and sometimes just hang up on you. Some of the employees try to be helpful but many are rude and act annoyed when you ask questions. I pray my mail never gets to your office ever again. read more

#1 Don't try to call the post office b/c they don't answer. #2 Don't trust that they won't give your mail to a random person- I recently moved to Tracy and had to stop in weekly to pick up my mail until they could get around to making me a key for the community box (which took weeks) anyway, no one asked to check my identification all I did was tell them the address and away I went w/ a huge stack of mail. #3 Parking is horrible- angled parking is the worst and the lot is tight- there is never enough parking at these places. #4 The only saving grace is the people I have encountered are friendly and seem to somewhat care but I'm VERY concerned that they don't take concerns seriously. I've had other concerns w/ the postal service in general like receiving a stack of someones mail from an address w/ the same numbers but totally different street AND the mail carrier made no apology and had no idea where my mail might have gone- she just said that the carrier had suffered a loss and his mind wasn't on the job the day of the delivery. I felt bad but you have to be on it when handling someones mail. Mistakes happen but it was a stack of mail and not one piece was mine. Another concern I have is that some of the carriers don't look professional at all- I had the pleasure of talking w/ one that I'm pretty sure was wearing something that could pass for her pajamas- really? Hopefully things will turn around b/c the Stockton post office on Robinhood 'seemed' to have their stuff together and I loved my mail carrier. read more

This post office is okay. The staff is straight forward and direct. I've never had an issue with rude workers. Plus I try not to take anything personal. I ordered a "Military Care Kit" online to shorten my trip to the post office. It came with boxes, tape, address labels & custom form holders. I packaged and taped everything before getting there. I filled out the customs form there, stood in line for 30 minutes just for the lady to tell me I filled out the incorrect customs form. She asked why I filled that specific one out & I told her that it was the customs form for the holder that I received in my care kit. She told me they had switched their customs forms and gave me the smaller "new one" to fill out. I did what I was told and went on my merry way. Today I went to the Salida post office to send out another care package. I filled out the smaller Customs form that the Tracy Post Office lady told me to use. Once I got to the front, the lady told me she would let it slide this time, however, I should be using the larger customs form (the same one that the Tracy post office lady told me not to use.) I explained what had happened to me at Tracy Post Office and why I filled out the smaller one. She said that the Tracy post office lady was incorrect and she must have been new. This confused me VERY much and now I have to ask first because I don't want to ruin my hard work & carefully decorated care packages. So annoying. read more

There are several elements to my review. 1)Home Delivery 2) Mail I've taken to the post office to be delivered 3)Customer service Since I moved here I have had NOTHING but issues with getting my mail. You see, I have a lame community mail box. I have complained several times that my mail keeps getting delivered to my neighbors and vice versa and that I want my OWN mail box. Their response? "well the home builder wanted you to have community mail boxes so that's what you have" Well the home builder isn't paying my mortgage or other bills so I really don't care what they want. They don't live in my house. I DO! As for mail I have taken to the post office to be delivered. In 2 months I sent about 30 packages. 9 of them were lost/not received or severely damaged even when having FRAGILE written in big letters across the package. I sent a package Feb 3. It is now March 17 and the package still has not been delivered. I have opened a case in which the Tracy post office has refused to reply to so my package is still in limbo. I call the post office constantly and no one answers. As for the people at the counter. They are usually very pleasant to deal with but that doesn't matter to me anymore since my packages aren't getting to their destinations. I have decided I will no longer use the USPS to send anything. They are not reliable and do not update the status on packages (why buy tracking if you cannot track!) read more

Tracy Post Office - Came home today and checked mail, found these signs on our mailbox. It doesn't say anything about your mail and boxes being held at the post office. Then I get a notification from USPS that my 2 boxes were unable to be delivered at the customers request, my request, really. It's graduation season, I'm sure family's are expecting cards and packages. I ordered 6 dresses for my maternity pictures and paid VIP shipping from overseas to be delivered on time, but the post office in Tracy had it sitting in their warehouse for a week and they claimed they delivered it to my mailbox. I have tracking system and I NEVER received any of the dresses. It's been 3 weeks now! Every time I call this post office they Never ever pick up! It's horrible customer service and horrible that I CAN trust international packages sent here to the US, but I can't trust my POST OFFICE! How can they just leave my package sitting around for a couple of weeks then claim on the tracking device that they put it in the mail. Learned to appreciate the Local post office today. Local Post master himself drove to my address to ensure that my package was delivered as stated by his mail carrier after work hours. The tracking info states (copy and pasted) Your item was delivered in or at the mailbox at 2:28 pm on September 3, 2017 in TRACY, CA 95377. I checked my mailbox and it was empty. The worst experience of my life every time I go there. I always go to the little window where you pick up your packages. This line is always short but we will be waiting 1hr -2hr why they clear the main line. We have arrived before everyone in the main line and still no service when the associates are trained for both department. keep in mind the packages we have are already paid for while the main line is just mailing whatever. read more

I've lived in Tracy for almost 30 years! The staff is courteous , fast and accurate! I have never had a bad issue but only positive ones! Using the USPS website I tracked my package at the location on Commercial Dr, so I went in on Wednesday afternoon to pick up my package because it had the wrong address by one digit. I notified the employee about my problem and I was hoping for some decent customer service but he quickly dismissed me and said my package was probably long gone, emphasis on PROBABLY. This Tracy post office is the most unprofessional, incompetent, ridiculous and dumbest post office I have ever been to so far. First let me say that I've been coming to this post office on and off whenever I need to send a US Priority flat rate type mailing or pick something else. But today takes the cake. Well in today's visit, the workers must have been brain dead because this is what happened: 1) Of course there are ridiculous lines here on the weekend, so while the lady at the counter was saying "next!" (you know, NEXT customer walk up the counter), another postal worker lady is holding up the next customer in line trying to up sell stupid bull crap extra postage, supplies, whatever unnecessary BS. She keeps going and going, ranting while the lady at the counter is waiting and yells "NEXT!" again. What a joke. I would have pushed the lady out of the way and walked right up to the counter. 2) Some lady was using a priority box to send her mail but the adhesive that comes on the box wasn't sticking. She waits in line, and of the course the same dumb lady from point 1 above, stops her. The customer asks for tape since the box adhesive won't stick. Guess what? The postal worker tells her the tape is behind her, she needs to buy it. W.T.F.?! It's a USPS PRIORITY BOX with the adhesive that won't stick. They could easily use the USPS Priority tape to seal it. But nope, you gotta buy the tape behind you. Wow. 3) So I get to the counter. I hand over my flat rate box. Take out my card and swipe to pay. The "enter PIN" screen comes up. I ask the lady I want to pay with credit because who the hell still uses their PIN to pay unless you're at the ATM taking out money? She asks for my card and my ID. So I give her my card and drivers license. She looks at the back of my bank card and see's no signature except for "See ID". She gives it back to me and says she can't accept the card because it doesn't have a signature and it's not valid. Are you kidding me? I give it back to her and say I've been here many times, and to different post offices and I have always paid with the "Credit" option using this card, including all kinds of different stores outside this facility. The words "See ID" on the signature line precisely means LOOK AT MY DAMN ID. She grabs a pen and pushes my card back with the pen and drops the pen on top of my card and says I need to sign it before she can take it because it's policy. Sigh. It says SEE ID, where the hell am I supposed to sign? So I take my card back, bust out my Costco Visa card with my obvious mug shot of a picture that clearly shows it's me. What does she do? Yep. "I can't accept that because there's no signature." I told her you have to, my damn picture is on it. She said no. So I ask for the supervisor/manager. Some young Asian guy comes up and says it's policy, saying they can't take it unless it's signed. I asked when did this start and he said recently. He gives me a sign that says all credit cards must have a signature to be accepted. Except that on the policy, the date of print is from 2004, NOT recently. He says there's nothing he can do and that I need to pay with cash. So I tell the incompetent lady to ring it back up so I can use my PIN instead. Tell me folks, what difference would it have been if I went to the stupid USPS kiosk outside the office and paid with the "Credit" option there? NONE! You think the machine would have not accepted my card because there was no signature? Nope. I told the lady to stop wasting customer's time here by acting like fools, it's no wonder people always complain about this post office. She just looked at me with a "whatever" face, so I walked away. To sum it up, this post office is a joke. The workers here are so full of BS and insanely incompetent. This isn't the first bad experience I've had with them. I've had them lose my mail and a few other things, but this IS the first review I leave for them. They need different people there. read more

Very inconsistent service. Definitely not the best post office I've been to. Some employees are quite friendly and helpful. I know that many postal employees are stressed out and often receive little thanks for a job well done. One counter worker here, Pam, doesn't seem to have a good sense of customer service. She was exceedingly rude over a packaging mistake I made and was not helpful in fixing it. I made an honest mistake because I didn't know any better and I have no problem being told to correct it but there is no reason to be treated so rudely like I'm a bad guy. I have never have I been treated worse by any post office employee. Luckily some counter workers do have a better customer service sense and helped me. I'm a good customer and should be treated like one. Not that anyone working there would know but I have mailed several thousand packages through USPS in the past three years and I have spent at least $10,000 in postage. Another issue is the buzzer they have to get help. On more than one occasion I have rung the buzzer and no one has come for a several minutes. On one occasion no one ever came and I just left rather than wait indefinitely. I have received very good service on many occasions at this Post Office but these bad experiences make me think the place needs better management. read more

I've never received such terrible service at a post office. I didn't think it was even possible bc I've always had great experiences at other locations. I just stopped by to mail my usual package (which by the way, I've been doing every 2 weeks for the past year - nothing out of the ordinary). Here are a couple of examples which I found irritating: 1) when I asked the clerk, Sylvia, if she could tape my envelope, which is usually something clerks OFFER UP THEMSELVES so that the contents are safer in transit, she said no. I was informed I had to buy tape...? She found some stickers and put those on the envelope. 2) she said she couldn't accept my credit card because it wasn't signed. This was a shocker bc I presented my id, which is the reason I don't sign it and she still said no. She was giving me a pen to sign it. So...had this been a stolen credit card, the thief could have simply signed it and she would have accepted it?? I've never had this issue. Ever. She said she was following policy. I just wonder why I had issues this time around when I have been to at least 5 other locations on a consistent basis and I never have this problem. Just moved to Tracy and needed a post box key. Filled out the forms and was told that when the key was ready, we'd be notified. I asked what an average timeframe for this request was and was told "we are not allowed to give any information other than you'll be notified". So now I get the pleasure of having to go into the post office to get my mail until someone decides to get the job done. I had to give a star if I wanted to review, or I wouldn't have given one. I'm sure other services aren't as frustrating but I am just in shock over the lack of customer service getting access to my mail.
