Despite the fact that I've had to speak with a supervisor multiple times about outgoing mail not getting picked up and that what they said would happen (carrier to come back and pick it up) never did happen, this is definitely not the worst post office in the country. Pros: My regular carrier is great, staff inside the post office are friendly, I can put my mail on vacation hold and have no problem getting it delivered or picking it up when I get back, during busy seasons a worker goes through the line to answer any questions or scan packages being dropped off to speed up and ensure that the line moves smoothly, the lobby is clean, the self serve kiosk is well maintained and in service, packing and mailing boxes are well stocked, and did I mention how great my regular carrier is? Most substitute carriers are awesome too...but this leads me now to cons. Cons: This location is overworked and understaffed. Cashiers (and possibly other workers) are often borrowed from other cities. The best residential carriers are moved around and put on different routes. When they are short carriers in town, they pull rural route carriers to make deliveries and apparently rural route carriers are very haphazard about deliveries and refuse to pick up mail or scheduled pick ups for packages. This location does a lot of things well and considering the volume of packages I ship out every year and the volume of business supplies I have delivered, my problems are minimal. The claims and grievances that I file each year are all with other locations around the country so that does put things in perspective a bit, but man I really wish they would get their rural route carriers to get it together. read more

There's always an issue these days when I come To the post office. This time I'm using an old box that a seller sent me that happens to be in a priority box . Just returning an item in the same old box vs wasting material and trees for a new box!! I was told even if I cover it in brown paper, " the xray will see the property words and won't send it " since the new label is not priority !!! Like it's an old used box... it's going. The service was extremely disappointing. I was simply returning a package to the seller, and the tracking number had not been taped to the bag. Although it was a minor issue, attaching the tracking label with tape is a very simple task. However, the staff member still refused to allow me to use the tape. Gentleman is always very nice but could use more staff. However, this PO is very small and never really busy so I'm not sure adding one more person would do any good. Updated review: incompetent is an understatement! I've called and went in numerous times about my mail being forwarded when I never put in a change of address. Someone that used to live in my home moved out and putting an individual change of address not a family one and the post office keeps forwarding my mail to their address. I called today & was told by someone named Ken that the computers aren't smart & I need to fill out a new change of address in order to receive my mail. Mind you i was already told to do this online by a Caucasian supervisor (sorry don't remember her name) there & he stated she didn't know what she was talking about & it had to be done in person. I received a pkg for someone that did not live here and I even checked with nabors in case someone knew this person but no luck. I took it to the post office, explained the situation and asked if they could find the person and redeliver or I could. No way! The lady agent said just refuse it and it will go to their dead letter section where I'm sure it would die! She would not look up the person so I could contact her! I wish I could give less stars...if for any reason you need to go to the blue service door to retrieve mail or talk to customer service, expect a minimum 30 minute wait for anyone to answer, after repeatedly pressing the door buzzer. After my community mailbox was broken into, I had to retreive my mail from the post office until they finally replaced the mailbox, which took several weeks, which means I had to go to the blue service door. Some days, it took up to an hour for someone to answer, with a line of 20+ people going out the door waiting. Once someone finally answers, they typically act as if you're a huge burden on their life and give attitude. UNACCEPTABLE. read more

They want us to bail them out financially, but every time I have a problem the employees just shrug and blame a manager that can't even be bothered to come talk to customers. Most inefficient post office I've ever been at. Slow as molasses. Four counters with only three in operation and a line out the side door one carrier walks away with no one sent as a replacement for counter help. There's only one self help kiosk occupied by someone who cannot figure out how to use it. Tis the season for total nonsense. read more

USPS is always my first choice for shipping packages. Recently visited this location twice and both times I was very satisfied with Jovilyn's customer service. There were two workers at the location I went to today at around 4:30-5pm. One of them, Jovilyn was diligent, efficient, and had a great attitude. She made the customer experience wonderful. When I was at the office last time, someone was giving her a hard time because that person mistakenly used priority shipping packaging. Even though that customer was rude, Jovilyn had a great attitude and explained it with patience. I was a little dissatisfied today because the other worker who was working next to Jovilyn was chit-chatting with a customer the whole time while I was there. I don't mind employees chatting but there is a time and place for that. Everyone was waiting in a very long line and the least she could do is work more efficiently. I also felt bad for Jovilyn because by the time she worked through 5 customers ahead of me, that other worker was still chatting with the same customer about where her son goes to school. read more

It's unfortunate that you can't rate this dump less than one star. I went in today to get my mail put on hold and got the worst service from Supervisor to Teller. First the customer service when you walk into that place screams confusion of the service they actually provide. I suppose they don't understand or maybe they don't know they work for the people they're supposed to serve. USPS now has a policy that they will not hold mail for more than 30 days and for an active duty military member that can be stressful and hard to coordinate when in an area far from home. When the supervisor was finally ask to weigh in, he decided to make me wait 15 min before another teller asked me what I was there for. Then at a seated position proceeded to yell basically "No Exceptions to the 15-50 dollar a month fee" I was left speechless and I had to leave before I lost my cool. In closing USPS should've been disbanded years ago and the fact that we still pay for them to exist, only to provide us with massive amounts of junk mail daily is utterly unacceptable. read more

Super understaffed. You will wait in line for minimum 20 minutes and you will definitely wait at the mail pick up window for at least 30. Last time I went the window wait was 40 minutes so bring something to entertain yourself. I gave 4 stars because despite this the employees are friendly. I don't know that I would be as friendly in this environment of cranky customers from waiting. I wish the self service area was open after hours. Every time I have needed a key made, replacement or otherwise, they complete it in a few days versus the few weeks you are quoted so that's nice. read more

This location lacks customer focused service and fails to provide its basic services to customers. Weekly, I receive mixed up mail and most of my mail ends up at the Post Office. Every time I stand in line to pick up my mail I am waiting at a door for 15+ minutes waiting for someone to assist. On numerous occasions I have waited in the extremely long wait lines just to be redirected to another line to wait more time. I have to say that going to the post office is not one of my favorite errands to do. However, every time I have come to this post office for the past year or so, the service has been friendly and fairly fast. I walked in physically to this post office yesterday 5/5/2016 and was met by GEORGE before I walked into the customer service location. He was wearing a name tag that said 'George, Trainee' (dark hair with glasses, young kid). He's a trainee and you should keep him and make him a regular worker, US Post Office. He asked me what I needed and pointed me the right direction, but was very friendly, efficient, and has a good attitude. It was a fairly busy afternoon on 5/5/2016 at 4:00 pm. A lot of customers were arriving to mail packages out, since this weekend is Mother's Day weekend. There were about 8 people behind me and 3 people at the service desk counters. When it was my turn, I was helped by MICHELLE (blonde, curly hair), and she was very friendly and efficient. RESULT: I like it that there is someone that greets you upon entering the post office to ask you what you need, in order to give you information and answer any questions you may have. I really wished I could give less stars for the Tracy, Ca location. The worst USPS I have ever visited! The man who work at the counter picks on every little thing, every time he helps me. I have been using duct tape on my packages for years but he told me that I can not use it. I totally understand if its their rules, but my point is, it has been okay for other clerks and the other locations. The rules should be the same, so they don't confuse the customers! I understand it is a very busy and stressful place to work, but they should be more professional with their customer service and at least try to look more happy. If they do that I will feel happy to use their service. Until then, I plan to use another location. read more

A bald short man was trying to question why I had my mail intercepted and left at the post office, after I told him I didn't want my package to be left on my porch because I wasn't going to be home that day, he then proceeded to give me a lecture about why that was not a good enough reason to have them hold my packages... Excuse me?! You don't get to dictate what I do with my packages! You have an option to have my mail to be held at the post office for a reason, for customers like myself to use it if we can't be home to receive a package.
