I've moved to Lathrop 3 years ago in the Stanford Crossing area. I used to get my mail btwn 11-11:30am daily. A year later, my mail was coming after 12pm. In 2024, btwn 1:00-2pm. Now, my mail are being delivered after 3pm & sometimes after 5pm. Yes, I agree with most of the reviews here with the actual PO location on 7th Street with rude workers who do not want to be there. I walked up to counter with a prepaid label for a box saying "I just want to make sure the weight of the box is appropriate for the label." and the lady with the long hair behind the counter goes " there's no way for me to know, but I could tell you how much it weighs." Then I proceed to show her the weight limit is printed on the label (which indicates my pacakge exceeded the weight limit). She goes "we could just charge the extra to your account." Im thinking I dont have an account, so I offered to hide the barcode and just pay for the shipping as if the box is not prepaid. And I was attempting to fix the label at the counter. She looks at me rudely "can you do that at the back? there's other people waiting." i go sure. But lo and behold there's no one waiting at the back. So instead of helping me, she made a fool out of me. Because after assembling the label altogether, the guy working at the counter was able to take my barcode and explained things a bit better to me and made me felt like I was helped. i used to love usps. read more

Got there at 9:02 am they open at 9 was told they aren't open yet by the janitor until the girl inside said it was okay, so he opened up for me and I was met with the most "I don't want to be here" eyes I have ever seen but that is okay because I want disrespected at all she scanned my package and gave me my receipt and I was on my way by 9:04am remember I was the only customer there first one there. Packages go missing here. Beware. I got a message "package held at facility for pickup, at customer request" after a supposed delivery attempt. I was outside at the time mind you. 1st time it happened. The package was there next day for pick up. Maybe cuz it wasn't marked with any identifying logo however it was opened and retaped with packaging tape back up. I know this, the sender sent me original photo of it with black tape. This last time. No package was actually there for me to pick up, despite me going down there 2x within 3 days. Still no package waiting for me. I think if they're showing anything remotely valuable. This time said "wireless carrier" on package, they steal them thinking it's a phone and they mark them for pickup but don't deliver them to you or return them to the post office for you. So they can sell it for profit. Not trustworthy. I would seriously chose to go elsewhere. This place has lost my trust. DO NOT HAVE PACKAGES DELIVERED HERE. read more

I dropped off a package i paid 50 dollars to ship to my grandson in Hawai. it doesn't look like a regular post office so asked two staff members that were chatting outside where do I take my package and they said drop it in that bin, I looked and it had empty boxes. I have never had an issues with my mail. My package was miss delivered to the wrong box. I was so worried because of the reviews BUT I got through when I called right away. The manager was super busy being it was right after Christmas but Rick helped and was real nice about it. Saturday morning a day after I called my package in my Carrier found my package and brought it to my door! I was sooo relieved I hugged her she's was sweet about it all. Was at Lathrop Post Office 9:00Am, third customer in line. Tried to ask female clerk, twice, advice on best container to mail an item. Each time, clerk rudely interrupted me to point to where mailing containers are located in the store. After second interruption to repeat what she said during the first interruption, I gathered my item, left the store, went to nearest UPS store, where clerk actually listened to me, answered my question, and took care of my needs. Don't understand the bad reviews. Sure it's a hole in the wall type and customer parking is lacking. However, the clerk I got was really friendly and helpful. The inside is well stocked with mailing supplies for customers to use. They just need a bigger and newer building because of all the homes being built at River Islands. read more

I have been begging the Fiancé to let me get a PO Box here since I find this place so adorable and just walking inside makes me smile. For as long as I could remember the same people have been working the counter AND they remember me! My fiancé is on the road 90% of the year and I love sending him love letters or care packages and when I come there's always the knowledge that I will not only be in and out of there within minutes but their customer service will be excellent! read more

I've been going to this post office forever. I remember last Christmas Eve I came home from San Francisco and I was expecting a package that I ordered a few weeks ago. I asked my parents if they got anything from USPS and they said they didn't get anything. I was getting frustrated cause I paid a lot for my jacket and I thought it was sent to the wrong house or even was stolen. I immediately went to the post office and asked the guy and he told me it was delivered. My parents said they even checked the mailbox and there wasn't anything. The guy at the post office gave me the number of the deliverer and told me that it was in our mailbox all along. The office is closed today so I will make my complaint here. Thank you mail lady for shoving two packages in my mailbox in the community mailbox that is literally right across the street from me. I understand it's Mother's Day, and I'm sorry you had to work today...I wanted to tell you that when I thought you were going to slow down and assist me since you saw me struggling with trying to take my packages out of the small box the community has provided to help you sort all your mail out in one place instead of doing it like the rest of the country with walking postmen. But instead, you flew right by me in what felt like more than the speed limit on Ryhiner Lane. Leaving me wondering when did mail start getting delivered on Sundays, and why couldn't you just deliver the damn things right across street. Small town post office with either no wait or a long one, but rarely in-between. Worse at lunch time. It's better to print your shipping labels online and just drop off your packages with one of the clerks. Most of them are friendly. Parking can be limited as their delivery trucks take up a few of the customer spaces by the mid-afternoon. Mail sent from here arrives in a timely manner. read more

I have went in and called so many times but they always right down my tracking number and say they'll call me back but never do. There is something fishy going on over there at that post office. 1.0 star rating Started on 3/15/2016 I left a review already but feel the need to REVIEW again, this time, all 4 pieces of mail for the neighbor and nothing for my address! I'm wondering if the carrier put our mail in their box? This happens almost every time we get mail. I'm just too busy to always complain, but when I do, It's usually ugly. It's not like we live in the tract homes where the mailboxes are opened with one single key. No, this home is in the rural area where you normally would drive to your neighbors to give them anything. Enough was enough, so I called the post office and let it ring at least 8-10 times (could be longer, I lost count) then it would hang up. I repeatedly did this 6-7 times until they finally picked up! I advised that I got my neighbors mail again. She requested the address and name on the envelope. She said she would talk with the carrier and watch the mail for a week. A newly built business that opened 4 months ago. Our address is still showing to be invalid. Address was registered with the Lathrop P.O. We have brought this issue of not receiving deliveries/mail to clerks& Post Master there. Still no help. Yet we get a piece or 2 of mail delivered to mailbox? Have multiple complaints made re: carrier not picking up time sensitive mail, when flag is clearly up for 5+ days. Was told flag wasn't up. yes it was. Also same carrier drove right by me at mailbox with flag up but didn't bother to stop or even look to see if mail pick up was needed. The Lathrop P.O. is affecting this business very negatively. I see from the comments they are awful all around. 10 years ago I was a letter carrier in Sac. People would be FIRED if the comments made about Lathrop P.O. were made about the location I worked at. Complaints not validated or the issues corrected is unacceptable. These workers show they have no pride in their work or work ethics and USPS seems to be ok with that. read more

I want to voice my complaint about the customer service or lack there of, at my local Lathrop USPS post office. I generally go in there about twice a month and the workers seem cold and uninviting. I didn't pay much attention until I needed some additional services like COA (change of address) and bulk mail pickup. Then I found that they were down right rude. I was told there was no way to do a COA for a certain family name, I could only forward the entire address. I later found by my mail carrier that this was false. Then today my wife went to send a package to my cousin who is overseas in the Army. She had to bring our 10 month daughter and had her hands full. She asked how to send a package overseas and if they could help her with the process. They told her she needed to put the items in another box and that she would need to buy tape (really). If that wasn't bad enough with all the attitude, when my wife started transferring the items (still holding the baby in one arm) the post office worker asked her to take everything to the back as she could not do it on the front counter. My wife looked around and the place was empty and there was another window with a worker waiting that could help someone if they were to come in. My wife was really overwhelmed by the lack of customer service and decided to leave. She was going to come back later but I told her that we will us UPS from now on. I will no longer have any of my hard earned money go to a "business" that treats their customers like we are at the DMV. I now understand why the USPS is doing so poorly and I will be writing my congressman and my senators to let them know what a waste of tax payer money this system is. read more

I would give the Lathrop post office zero stars if I could. We moved to lathrop about 5 months ago, from Pleasanton. I go into the Lathrop post office at least twice a week and spend $200+ a month to mail orders to customers from my clothing company. EVERY SINGLE TIME I have gone in, the person helping me is rude, doesn't say hi or thank you or have a nice day. They are all very slow, and seem confused at times how to mail a simple first class package. Today was the last straw, I went in to mail a $30 priority package and my 3 year old (who is always with me) never wants to enter the post office because he's afraid of the employees and their rude tones of voice. So I always let him wait in the lobby on the other side of the glass door about 5 feet from me, he can see me and I can see him and he is always quite and stands there causing no problems. Well today the "manager" goes off on me telling me he can't be in the lobby and he has to be right next to me. She wouldn't give me a reason. She just insisted. So I said fine but he will kick and scream and she said so I don't care and then went back to the back room. I will no longer be mailing at Lathrop Post Office, I will drive to manteca post office a couple times a week from now on. They are much more helpful and pleasant. read more

i have lived in Lathrop for the last 20 yrs and at first the postal service was great since then it it has gotten very bad.my house numbers are 13800 and theres a house with the excate numbers but on a different street we have gotten mail for that house and always put delivered to wrong address. we know packages and mail were delivered to this house with the same numbers we never receive any mail returned from the other house but i truly wish they would give us the same respect that we give them recently i was sent a insurance check from farmers and my agent told me it was cashed i didn't cash it someone else cashed it. my agent is investigating and i'm going to her office to match the signing i know i probably will lose the check but i blame the mail people for always mixing up the two houses and we always have a different mail carrier i need to know where i can explain my complaint it doesn't do any good to go to the Lathrop post office because they will have a b.s answer my daughter has complained there before and gotten no results can any one direct me to make a complaint that some one will pay attention to. read more

I have been getting mails with different addresses. I dont know if they are looking at the addresses before they stick it on the mailbox. In some occasions i have received mail that was suppose to go to Escalon. Im in Lathrop. How does that happen. I went to the post office Lathrop and ask for manager. Lady said she was not in. The post office is closed already and I'm so angry, im not a person that complains but enough i enough! I always see the same lady dropping of the mail, so im guessing its her alwaysmaking mistakes! this has not been the first time that they deliver my mail to other neighbors, and i always get theres. Ive been waiting on this package and i checked my tracking number and guess what? it states it was delivered today @ 10:53 am.. well where is it? its not in my mail box and not at my door step. Just 2 days ago they gave my book to my front neighbors! like come on you have one job and thats to read and sort out the correct mail to the correct house.
