Joanne and her supervisor Tatyana Rodriguez were SO unprofessional and rude to my husband and I. We send lots of marketing within US post offices and these two were so out of line rude to us. We traveled two hours to send marketing for a new listing and they wouldn't allow us to send our mail out although we had paid and prepared everything properly. They were not accommodating at all and their personalities were so bad. They had such a mean attitude towards us and we were very disappointed with the customer service and how they treated us. We will be calling their supervisors. Another patron in the office followed us out to apologize for how Joanne and her supervisor were treating us. She couldn't believe how rude and nasty they were being towards us. Very sad and upsetting. read more

So I am following up my one star review with a five star review. Why do you ask? Just because an incompetent supervisor botched an interaction with me badly. How she got in charge? I have no idea. I feel I shouldn't condemn or otherwise make it sound like the whole postal service is not doing their job. It is quite the opposite. Until recently I have never had any issues with the post office. My local post office specifically. I have always received my mail on a timely manner and intact for the most part. My regular mailman is awesome. Very professional and friendly. If a package doesn't fit in my mailbox. He brings it to my door. Which I really appreciate it. I do stand behind my last review of the US Post Office but I also stand behind this review. There are many postal service workers that work their tail off to get our mail to us. Unsung heroes that are taken for granted. I am not one them. For a guy that does business online. I know that people who go to the Postal Office are either in a hurry, anxious that their mails/packages are taken cared of or would even be having a bad day. So Cashiers and Staff working to serve all the customers are often overlooked or taken for granted. A small shortcoming on their part might be blown out of proportion by others, thinking they are snob or unhelpful. I can relate, because this USPS Staff ms. Joanne, might look reserved or strict, but once you get to know her, or take time to smile at her and talk to her, she will be very nice and cheerful. She has helped me from the first time I stepped in this location. Walked me through on how to open a PO Box and assisted me in mails that I'm looking for. She wrote everything patiently. I thank her for knowing her products and services. So just to put a balance perspective, most customer service workers might also have a challenging day and I feel we as consumers must also be considerate, who knows friendships can also be built which will last. read more

I have been coming to this postal office for as long as I can remember. I usually stop by here to pick up stamps from their automated dispenser. Yes, I still use stamps because I am a dork. I have also used this location for passport service and shipping out the area and specifically out of the country. My only hurt about this location, is that there always seems to be a line, and the employees never seem to be in a hurry to get things rolling. I was very happy when they installed the automated stamp dispenser because they save me a lot of time. Don't forget your forever stamps! read more

Very concerned, I attempted to call and reach a live person on the phone. I finally reached someone after several calls. This was at 2:50 P.M., and I was told that the mail was just picked up. Joanne is the best postal worker I have ever encountered. She is the most friendliest, knowledgeable worker there. From the time I was in line at least 6 people ahead of me she was working by herself with 2 customers on the side waiting for a supervisor (which took 15 mins) for them to respond to her calls, all the while keeping a wonderful attitude with every customer that she encountered. Her multi tasking abilities are spot on. She is very quick in her transactions and gets customers in and out. Very thorough with her work and leaves not one thing unanswered. I couldn't help but listen to the transaction while waiting my turn. I waited in line for no more than 10 mins which I believe is very good considering she was by herself the whole time. I don't know how she does it and keeps a steady flow of things. When it was my turn she greeted me with a pleasant attitude, apologized for the wait and asked me how my day was. Right then and there I told her I had been listening to her and very impressed with how she is handling the situation of being alone with all the customers asking her questions left and right while keep her customer in front of her served. When my visit was about over finally 2 people came out to assist but by then only myself and the 2 waiting for the supervisor was there. She had cleared out that line in a matter of minutes without one drop of sweat. I've done many yelps reviews and see too many negative comments about a place and not enough positive ones. Joanne can seriously run that office on her own and do a better job than being fully staffed. I love coming here and never had ANY ISSUES with her. My opinion, I maybe wrong,.... If anyone else notice the same, feel free to chime in. Haven't received Carl's Jr. Coupons in over a year.... Among other's as well, in the monthly mailer. Others have. Just kind of funny that other's have, and this post office is real close to all the fast food places we don't get coupons from anymore. Lol Again, other people do get them. Fyi - our mailboxes lock, so no one else stealing them. There are other instances through the years that I would give negative stars if I could.... Mail carriers using our driveway to turn around everyday, digging holes in the asfault from turning wheels in same spot everyday. Backing into a 4 foot tall +2 ft x 2ft rock pillar, causing us to have it taken down. Backing into the curb in our driveway, knocking them out of the concrete + damaging the curb. Backing into a solid concrete curb on the other side taking a 6 x 6 inch chunk into of the curb. And they continue using the driveway, even after numerous requests not to, by pulling the wheels up to the blacktop, (which is still our property, but they assume it isn't) and bumpers still hitting curb in driveway, causing damage. Other problems with mail + and helpfulness, or lack there of, from employees at the location regarding ANY problems. read more

I lived in the delivery zone of this office for 4 years. Package deliveries were a frequent problem. Packages frequently ended up at the same number on a different street. Frequently packages were not delivered at all, and the carrier would leave a pink notice slip without bothering to get out of the truck and go knock on the door. In some cases they didn't even leave a notice. I didn't know that the package wasn't delivered until the vendor reported the package returned due to being unclaimed. For international packages that can be EXPENSIVE. When I spoke with the manager of this station, she assured me that she would speak to her carriers and make sure that these problems would not be occuring again. The following week, I went in to the office to find they were holding a package of mine for which no delivery attempt notice had been left. Seriously? It was my first time coming in here and my last! The older Asian guy is the rudest person I have ever seen ! I never returned a package before and I only knew that I had to print a return label. So instead of teaching me he was extremely rude and telling me to go home to tape it when there was a roll of tape right next to him. I went to this post office after looking up the official USPS policies regarding non-flammable liquids. Every single person I talked to at the post office denied that those policies exist. They refused to tell me or show me what policy they were following. They wanted to charge me 40 extra dollars for ground instead of flat rate priority mail. The top supervisor was in the back allegedly supervising carriers for well over an hour and never came out to talk to me and no one would tell me his name. I suspect that this secretive and anonymous person was the postmaster Harry Ringgold. I got someone to give me Mr. Ringgold's email address, and moments after I sent him an email, the secretary came out again and tried to BS me again. I showed her the official policy on my phone and she backed down. My package was sent according to post office requirements. On the way out I pointed out to Daphne, who was the highest-ranking person willing to talk to me, that her information had been incorrect. She said they accommodated me. I said, "You mean they violated federal rules?" She said yes they violated federal rules when they mailed my package. So take your pick: either they violated federal rules for over an hour while they kept me waiting, or they violated federal rules when they finally mailed my package. Close to the house so it's very convenient. If I don't want to get any fancy stamps I just use their automated kiosk. If there's no line I purchase stamps at the desk. One time I wanted to buy their Wonder Woman stamps but they ran out. WARNING TO ALL CUSTOMERS: According to the Manager (name rhymes with gory) at this location, this particular USPS believes themselves to be above the law and not liable for any of their employees mistakes, lies, or actions. I went in to ship out 3 packages and told the always-sour-and-impolite Asian male (nickname rhymes with prick- appropriate) that I needed to send 3 packages and I wanted "TRACKING INFORMATION" for all three. He spent the next several minutes complaining about my packaging (the boxes were too small and he didn't know where to put the labels) and then proceeded to TELL me how he was going to ship the packages instead of offering options. This didn't bother me and I told him repeatedly: "As long as there's tracking" to which he replied each time: "It comes with tracking automatically"- a line I've heard him absent-mindedly tell almost every customer. When he printed out my receipt he made a point to take his pen and mark where the tracking numbers were and repeated again: "Like I said, they come with tracking and here are the numbers". 2 days later I receive a complaint about one of the packages and its' tracking number. I investigate and find out that the package in question did NOT have tracking as it was shipped First-Class Mail. I went to the post office as the package in question was part of an investigation and explained that the auditor needed a note from USPS with the exact current location of the package, which they have access to. That's when the incompetent and trailer-park-mannered manager Gory began to mumble out how she and her staff can't help, can't do anything about it and "you can go ahead and do whatever you want, nothing's gonna happen to us" was her response to my informing her of my plans to file a formal complaint. When we confronted prick about it, he panicked, looked at the receipt and stuttered out a weak explanation, while lying and telling us he couldn't really remember 2 days ago. He apologized, but continued to lie and say he always offers options and pays attention to his customers. If I was able to acquire a court-order to see the security video footage at this location, it would prove beyond a doubt that prick's behavior is deplorable, but more importantly it would show him pointing at the receipt where the tracking numbers should be. I called USPS customer service and filed a formal complaint to which the operator taking my claim stated: "Someone will get back to you within 24 hours, latest by end of business on Monday." Today is Tuesday. No response. I know the focus is on the IRS right now, but if the standards at USPS are so sub-par that manager's like gory and employees like prick can say and get away with service handled at insane levels of ineptitude, then the DMV's looking pretty good these days. If the investigation goes sour, I plan on going to the district court and filing a complaint against gory and prick. It doesn't bother me that they exist, there are lots of people like them in this world, it bothers me that they're getting paid to poorly do jobs that today's middle-school children can do much better. read more

This was the last place I called but the only place where someone offered to check for any cancellations so I could get an earlier appointment. This is my actual post office for my zip code, however i rarely use it since the Lemon Grove P/O is actually closer, I went here Friday and could not believe how long the line was with only one person working, I agree with the other guy writing a review for this place, There's just no sense of urgency here, But what are you gonna do it's the U.S government and they know it. At the Lemon Grove facility the personal are friendlier and over all helpful, So that's where i decided to open my business P/O Box. What's worse then that is Today 2/11/2013 My mail lady didn't deliver our mail until 6:15 PM it seems every monday the mail is late but OMG on friday expect it no later then 3:00PM i guess its her Friday on Friday.....so annoyed with the spring Valley post office and mail delivery, can you imagine in august when they stop mail delivery on saturdays, i'll be lucky if i get my mail on monday by 9:00 pm, but she always has time to smoke a cigarette YES while driving her USPS truck.....UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!
